- bluevillage, on 10/13/2008, -0/+31FTA: "The deciding factor, as ever in presidential politics, is independents. They see McCain as mainly attacking his opponent, by 61-33 percent, but Obama as mainly addressing the issues, by 68 -26 percent."
Game over. It's too late for McCain to return to the issues without looking like it's a political ploy. That's the risk of their strategy of trying to make the election about Obama -- a "character" election: it's turned out to be a referendum on McCain's own character.
The rest of the numbers in this poll, broken down by demographic, are definitely worth reading.- TunaFishGangsta, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3McCain has three weeks to turn it around as much as he can and then he's going to be relying on The Bradley Effect and voter suppression to see him through. We'll see.
It's certainly not over yet. - SpectralSounds, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1Quick to judge,
Quick to anger,
Slow to understand
Ignorance and prejudice
And fear walk hand in hand...

- kayala, on 10/13/2008, -3/+13How about some public *disapproval* of that spelling?
- martalli, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2I'll bet it was a homage to Governor Palin.
- wopbobaloobop, on 10/13/2008, -0/+21McCain = utter loser. Every time he says or does anything he just gets smacked. By the public, by the media, by his own party.
- cattletracks, on 10/13/2008, -0/+17I don't understand why the McCain camp decided to regurgitate Hillary's negative attacks given that they made her poll numbers plummet.
- Bith8654, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2They have been smearing for so long I'm not sure they realize there is any other alternative.
- objective79, on 10/13/2008, -0/+6Folks check out this inspirational Obama video; we the people are gonna take this country back come Nov 4th: http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Obama_08_Vote_Fo ...
- dildoolielly, on 10/13/2008, -0/+7The oldest Presidential nominee in history who wrecklessly picks a totally inexperienced airheaded, po-dunk status seeking beauty queen from whothefvckcares, Alaska?!!
Finished 5th from THE BOTTOM of his class of nearly 900?!!
You gota be fvcking kidding me!!
Clearly this old coot is not too bright. I mean, he still can't even tell the difference between Sunni and Shi'ite. And for God's sake, he doesn't know how to use a computer!!! His father the admiral helped him pass in the Academy, but he couldn't help him become an admiral. I can see why he doesn't want his full Naval record to see the light of day.
He relies heavily on his military background to aid his campaign but, why does he refuses to release his military records?! A man who hides his history, is not destined to be a leader that can be trusted.
He filed for disability which shows more of McCain's dishonor to the American tax payer.
He left his crippled wife who waited loyally for him, while raising his children. He cheated on her and then married a billionaire 18 years his junior.
He is a thief, a liar, a pedophile and a cheat.
He doesn't belong anywhere near the seat of this country's Gov't
i love that the internet, and specifically digg, is exposing this melting, reptilian lunatic for who he really is. he's on par with your favorite senile grandpa who says wacky, ignorant ***** that you brush aside because deep in your heart you know that the sane people are gonna win the country back this november. let's make it happen people.
And for all those idiots spewing, "Obama has no experience". You're idiots! Obama has ten years experience in public office, more than the two other leading Democratic candidates, Hillary Clinton (six-plus years as Senator from New York) and John Edwards (six years as Senator from North Carolina). Barack's spent eight years spent in the Illinois senate before his two years (and counting) of service in the U.S. Senate.
And, NO, I'm not a fvcking Democrat! I'm a Ron Paul supporter, but Obama or McCain is a no-brainer. - dildoolielly, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4Oh, and I thought Bush was the only President who couldn't tie his shoelaces
- lhbaker, on 10/13/2008, -1/+4Who gives a crap about polls when you're just going to steal the election?
- DuggDowner, on 10/13/2008, -2/+1How can Obama steal an election McCain is handing him?
- gravelocity, on 10/13/2008, -1/+6If I am an undecided voter, there is no way in hell I want to be associated with people like the lady that said "I can't trust Obama because he's an Arab". I think that even considering that someone may agree with McCain's plan, that this might be enough to make them want to distance themselves as far as possible from anything remotely "Republican" at this time.
- uppitydiggers, on 10/13/2008, -3/+2"If I am an undecided voter, there is no way in hell I want to be associated with people like the lady that said "I can't trust Obama because he's an Arab""
That's like saying you wouldn't want to be associated with the dems/repubs because (insert convicted child molester here) voted for one.

- uppitydiggers, on 10/13/2008, -2/+2Seems the poll also reflects public approval of Obama's negativity.
- clak, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3You know why Republican smears no longer work? People have easy access to information now. For example, when the Repubicans started the smears about Bill Ayers, I went on the web and found out more about the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which was started by a ***** REAGAN REPUBLICAN. Bill Ayers wasn't even on the board!
Here's a few other notable people that served on the board with Obama.
Stanley O. Ikenberry
President of the University of Illinois (1979–1995); member of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago (1983–1995); former professor of education (1965–1971) and senior vice president (1971–1979) of Pennsylvania State University.
Arnold R. Weber
President of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago (1995–1999); member of the board of directors of the Arie and Ida Crown Memorial and the Tribune Company; former president of Northwestern University (1985–1994) and the University of Colorado (1980–1985); professor of labor economics and friend and colleague of George P. Shultz at MIT, the University of Chicago, and in the Nixon administration.
Ray Romero
Vice president and general counsel of Ameritech; Chicago School Finance Authority board member (appointed in 1992 by Governor Jim Edgar); candidate in the 1996 Democratic primary for the 5th Congressional District of Illinois; winner, Crain's Chicago Business 40 Under 40 award, 1991; former Illinois Commerce Commission commissioner (appointed in 1985 by Governor Jim Thompson); former civil rights attorney as Midwest regional director of MALDEF where he was lead counsel for Hispanic plaintiffs in the 1985 Chicago ward remap.
Wanda White
Executive director of the Community Workshop on Economic Development; former policy director of the Women's Self-Employment Project; former deputy commissioner of economic development under Chicago Mayors Washington, Sawyer and Daley.
Susan Crown
President of the Arie and Ida Crown Memorial; vice president of Henry Crown & Company; daughter of Lester Crown.
Handy Lindsey, Jr.
Executive director (1988–1997) then president (1997–2003) of the Field Foundation of Illinois; former associate director of the Chicago Community Trust (1986–1988).
Oh my, obviously a band of terrorist loving psychopaths who HATE America. Right, Republi-Tards? - DuggDowner, on 10/13/2008, -2/+2Keep up the good work McKKKain supporters!
- Phocion55, on 10/13/2008, -2/+1No need to attack Obama after he states how he wants to "spread the wealth around".
