ABC Removes All Comments on Ron Paul Story AGAIN!
abcnews.go.com — First Paul was the only candidate left out of their debate poll. Then they write a story about how it's very unlikely that Ron Paul actually has any support. After their readers complain about the bias and try to prove that there actually are a lot of Ron Paul supporters, their comments get deleted. Now ABC has done it AGAIN!!!

- gotamd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I've tried twice now to comment again and failed. It seems that my account has been blocked from commenting on the story. I don't know about anyone else's, but this is ridiculous. I never spammed the story, and only commented a second (and third) time after my previous comments were deleted. The only comment to the story now is: "'One man with courage makes a majority.' --Andrew Jackson". So the only comment left on their story trashing Ron Paul's supporters is on that insinuates that their false allegations are true. Lovely!
- chadism, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, I'm curious to see how ABC will get out of this one.
I feel like we can expect at very least a press release saying that it was due to OVERWHELMING ACTIVITY ON THEIR SERVER. That would work for me...
I feel like they're really screwing themselves on this one...but maybe I'm missing something...

- interpaul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If they are sick of all the calls and emails, how come they haven't changed a damn thing? That's all they have to do; Yet I still haven't seen an updated Ron Paul profile, I still see him missing from the candidate's page, Yahoo STILL hasn't mentioned Ron Paul, etc.
MSM doesn't get off that easy; If they don't like the flood of calls and emails, then be fair. Or else they need to STFU and take it up the ass because they deserve it. Until I see changes, I will be inexorable and relentless. MSM needs (not should) to give Ron Paul the coverage he deserves. End of story. End of my diatribe. haha! :D
Vote @ RonPaul2008.notlong.com - libertarianPaul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I was there for a while posting until the end of the ordeal. There were at least two people actively engaging in a Ron Paul smear campaign. They would pose as supporters and then spew racist and anti-semetic garbage. They copied one post that I had written and then edited it with racial slurs. But it seems like this is the closest thing to waving a white flag that ABC will give to us. Carefully timed, well reasoned, and relentless arguments effectively forced ABC to pull the plug on comments. Here is what I wrote and posted:
For anyone visiting this page for the first time, remember this. There are people commenting here that have a vested interest in discrediting Ron Paul and his supporters. They use carefully crafted techniques in order to discredit him and his advocates. The most popular of which is posing like a Ron Paul supporter in between the comment buries, defacing individuals' posts using racial slurs, and even restricting the average users' ability to comment. These techniques have the unfortunate effect of sucking in naive yet well-intentioned people into ridiculous arguments that detract from the main point, hoping that these peoples' missteps will help further discredit Dr. Paul. Pay no attention to any ludicrous statements and instead perform objective research and come to your own conclusions.
and my second comment:
Libertarianism is a philosophy that all individuals, regardless of race, are the owners of themselves and have the right to do anything they want as long as it does not infringe upon the rights of others. With this understanding it is imperative to understand that all actions should be voluntary. Laissez-faire capitalism is the economic theory of free markets. It is the idea that markets should not be interfered with by governments. Government interference only empowers monopolists by crushing their competition with regulations before it has a chance to grow organically.
Ron Paul supports both libertarianism and laissez-faire capitalism.
Without spamming the site I modified the messages to their current state in order to minimize damage by the trolls. Then when the tag team trolls would post their garbage I would add one of the comments. They completely ignored the libertarianism comment and focused on attacking the first one. They would add anti-semetic messages in the middle of the comment, along with many other racial slurs, most of them "connecting" PNAC or the Israeli government with the "jews."
After a while they blocked my ability to post. I had to sign up for another account in order to comment again. I was able to get in one comment before they wiped out the comment board for good. I was under the impression that it was going to be temporary, but after waiting it out for some time it seems that they had given up and just blocked all comments. I think of this situation a more of a defensive move. If the people wouldn't have defended Dr. Paul to the end, the trolls and ABC would have left their racial slurs and Nazi garbage up for the world to see. - brightmidnight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They wouldn't let me sign up in the first place-- their site didn't work in Firefox, I tried Opera and it would let me at least fill out the form, then it said that I had to fill out postal code for Canada even though I'm from the US, then it said my email was already taken, but when I asked them to send the old password it didn't work either.
I've lost a lot of respect for them over this thing. - moocow1452, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nah, as long as ABC has disabled comments and has stayed strong through the e-mails and calls, they have the wall of ignorance. They can just stay in their little alcove, and go about their lives with no difference during the storm.
