- cg4et, on 07/06/2008, -1/+7I can't imagine John McCain finding 76,000 people interested in watching him wrestle with a teleprompter for 90 minutes.
- SheilaNoya, on 07/06/2008, -1/+6Smart move. Obama easily fill the stadium with loyal supporters, and it will also make it much harder for PUMA, DoneDems, and other anti-Obama groups to get away with disrupting the convention and turning it into a huge fight, like they claim they are planning to do.
Let's just hope that the media focuses on the main event and not a handful of angry Hillary supporters who are plotting to turn the convention into a screaming match. - iching, on 07/06/2008, -1/+4John F Kennedy did the same at his convention
It would stir memories of the July 1960 DNC when John F. Kennedy addressed more than 80,000 supporters in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
* JFK launched a major theme at the coliseum:
"Today some would say that those struggles are all over - that all the horizons have been explored - that all the battles have been won - that there is no longer an American frontier. But I trust that no one in this vast assemblage will agree with those sentiments. For the problems are not all solved and the battles are not all won - and we stand today on the edge of a New Frontier - the frontier of the 1960s - a frontier of unknown opportunities and perils - a frontier of unfulfilled hopes and threats."
I think its a great idea! - ssn697, on 07/06/2008, -0/+1That is one poorly worded title, ripe for parody. I don't want to hear about his sexual exploits while traveling the country!
- damndj, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1I'm going to do all I can to attend. This is going to be historic
- LauraBlu, on 07/14/2008, -0/+1That will be a packed house. Too bad he couldn't get the Monday night coverage. Lol.
