Gosh Darnit! Fey’s Palin Impression No Joke for McCain
newswise.com — Tina Fey ’s humorous impressions of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live (SNL) may be no laughing matter for Palin’s running mate, Senator John McCain, says Lauren Feldman, an expert on the political effects of late-night comedy.

- wikinews45, on 10/13/2008, -1/+15What's ironic about the Fey comedy is that the funniest part was when she played Palin straight and simply quoted her word for word.
- TruthinessHurts, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4Yeah, goofing on Palin doesn't require much comedic skill.
- Anomaly100, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2They didn't even need a script- word for boneheaded word.- To think Palin actually says that stuff on purpose!
- MrColdheart, on 10/13/2008, -1/+10This article states that... “When audiences are exposed to political humor or satire, they are less likely to oppose the information in the message or question whether it is fair or accurate,”
Look the only people that find political satire funny are the people that already know the facts/information. Saying that people are less likely to question political humor is missing the point and is false.
Only Fox and the GOP want to believe that the rise of political humor is unfair.- thcanalichio, on 10/13/2008, -0/+5it is worth noting that most right-wing attempts at using "satire" have been epic FAIL. Fox New's "half hour comedy hour", the new Zucker film "American Carol", and Newsbuster's Newsbusted (http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/channel.aspx?Channel ... for example.
cries of "unfair" are to be expected when "their side" can't muster the creativity to entertain without having a transparent agenda. what SNL is doing with Palin is entertaining, and not necessarily political.
and good point about needing to know the "facts" to get it.
