Gov. Palin whoops him - by Melanie Morgan
worldnetdaily.com — The debate last night between Sen. Joe Biden, a Democratic crony, and Gov. Sarah Palin, an intelligent executive leader, could be called "the drop kick and hockey slap shot heard around the world." Gov. Palin took him down in energy issues. She smacked him down on the economy. She flattened him on the war against radical Muslim jihadists.....

- Skip2Maloo, on 10/03/2008, -14/+12This is a joke, right? A little tongue-in-cheek review of the debate? Were we even watching the same debate? Oh wait, I get it... you're using code words. Let's see... "intelligent" equals "rehearsed", "executive" equals "inexperienced" and "leader" equals "token".
Yeah, now I get it. You're so funny, Melanie.- mcrunch2, on 10/03/2008, -6/+2yeah, you must have been watching a different debate. I don't have cable but it was on most of the channels that I do get. Perhaps you need to get a TV schedule next time.
- viejoverde, on 10/03/2008, -7/+7inexperience? how about obamas' inexperience? compare to hers he just got out of kindergarten, the man has NOTHING, just a couple of years in the senate, who's seat he "won" by pure luck. maybe you call "experience" his dealings with the chicago corrupt machine of he was part of.
- InRussetShadows, on 10/18/2008, -0/+1Notice the way that the left thinks: they can't possibly imagine that someone disagrees with them, so they figure that we must be using code words. They have a colossal failure of imagination and demonstrate an amazing lack of tolerance for people who think differently than they do.
- dd12101, on 10/03/2008, -5/+10biden was the typical lying politician and she was the normal everyday person. The problem here is that the left and the media have deemed the average american as not being capable of holding the highest elected offices, need I remind them that 1) they are full of s**& and 2) the founding fathers were ordinary men.
George Washington warned us about political parties and the damage they could do, we are now witnessing the true left in this country, they are not about peace, they are not about inclusiveness, they are not about tolerance,,, or any of the other high minded ideals they espouse...
Simply put, they are haters of everything and everyone that does not do what they say,, I, for one, am tired of having new york and hollywood edicts forced on me and the rest fo the country.
viva la revolution....- rylege, on 10/03/2008, -2/+5The Founders were not ordinary men! They were for the most part the elite of our society, polished, extremely well educated, wealthy gentlemen who would have much rather enjoyed a cocktail party with Harvard types discussing something most of us would find tedious and boring.
- dd12101, on 10/03/2008, -6/+6I disagree, they were educated but as far as being the elite of society, they were in England. Also, am I to understand that you agree that only certain elite should rule, does that mean you can and I can't? Isn't this supposed to be America, of the people, for the people,,,,,,
I stand by my statement, biden was the same old line we've been getting from all our career politicians, Palen was just like me and my friends! - muerafidel, on 10/03/2008, -3/+0agreed, they would have had a hell of a time dealing with morons like you.
- rylege, on 10/03/2008, -0/+3No but there should be an enumerated qualifications list I believe like any other job. Why is that so unreasonable?

- proveritas, on 10/03/2008, -2/+4I thought they were more engaging and looked better as a ticket than enemies. Look, it was the seasoned senator vs the young opponent, just like McCain and Obama. Biden and McCain rattled off numbers and facts and had experience on the issues since they are both entrenched in the political machine of Washington.
Obama and Sarah both came off as appealing to main st with personality, eye contact and both did very well in answering questions.
Sarah doesn't know McCain's record - she couldn't go on the defense as Biden attacked McCain. I think she did well -she is a charmer and she connects to Main St and breathes a bit more life into the ticket.
McCain is the one who has dropped the ball in the past few weeks and I don't think he can recover. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. Frankly, neither him or Obama are worthy of the office of President. The American people are getting screwed no matter who wins. - rylege, on 10/03/2008, -6/+5What an unintelligent analysis of a political debate! Palin did ok, and proved she is not stupid, but I don't think anyone who is independed was moved that she was knowledgable about the issues or had a striking command of the nuances that make up this world. She was very well rehearsed again, and pulled it off wonderfully. Biden though, obviously knows exactly what he is talking about, as everyone of his answers were filled with details galore, topped with a very cereberal analysis of those details. I always find it amaziong how the American electorate is so fascinated by AVERAGE anything! Would you want and average doctor, or brain surgeon, or tax guy? No of course not. But Americans seems just fine with it when it comes to running the country. Call me an elitist, but I want my leader to have a graduate degree from a prestigious university.
- mcrunch2, on 10/03/2008, -5/+4ho hum. just look at what all these 'experienced' washington insiders have done to our economy with their government run businesses like fanny and freddie. All this 'experience' amounts to what? Ginsburg (supreme court) thinks that we should base our laws on what the Europeans are doing. For all her 'experience' and schooling, she seems to have forgotten about the constitution. And what about biden, sure he has experience being a senator. Thats about it. Not much of a resume, especially considering the mess that the government is.
- rylege, on 10/03/2008, -1/+4So the elite screwed up, so let's give it to the less educated? Yeah that'll fix the problem. You know being President isn't like being a manager of McDonalds, its a highly complex job that requires the best educated in society.
- ozydingo, on 10/03/2008, -0/+4I can't tell if you're arguing for Palin or against McCain, could you clarify?

- ivanvivian, on 10/03/2008, -3/+6While I don't particularly want anyone merely average working for me, to consider one with a degree, as being the qualified, shows me no sense, no understanding, and a perverted view of the world. Knowledge is power, whether that knowledge is the wrong kind of knowledge or the correct kind of knowledge. Our society has been brainwashed and perverted by the education system, throughout its expressions. Nearly every leader who has robbed the people of their security, their well being and their safety has been an educated elitist.
'rllege' sounds lie he/she would welcome university educated and 'Marxist' trained Obama. Probably wants a socialist form of government; wants everything regulated by the big boys and girls, looking for a wealth and a welfare redistribution. Just as Lenin, Marx, Mussolini, Hitler and the other tyrants promised. The problem is we ought not to be looking for a welfare society as much as we ought to seek for, find, receive and make a just society. This cannot be legislated. It is a matter of the heart, and 'rulege' has given up a good heart, I perceive, a very long time ago. Hoodwinked and brainwashed to accept the system against good common sense. - viejoverde, on 10/03/2008, -6/+5Biden just showed the spouting machine of lies that he is. Palin unfortunately did not take the opportunity to expose who the real culprits of the financial debacle were, THE DEMOCRATS, not only the "greedy" bankers that she mentioned. She should have exposed barney frank as one of the principal culprits. It looks that perhaps she is morphing into another mc cain.
mc cain could have had a big jump in the polls if he had said NO to the bail out, but proved why is called a RINO - DuggDowner, on 10/03/2008, -6/+9She responded to 5 out of 25 questions. You do that in school you get an F.
- gmarie624, on 10/03/2008, -4/+6Best line FTA: "What about Biden's smirk/smile? What was that? It looked like a cross between a kid who got caught stealing somebody's apples and a drooling pervert." LMAO!
- kayala, on 10/03/2008, -2/+4What about Palin's vacuous little sayings?
"Say it ain't so, Joe!" *wink*

- KCLorelei39, on 10/03/2008, -3/+2I *tried* to watch the debate but really, it's mostly for show and giggles, anyway; they were juggling and tossing out buzz words and phrases to misdirect the masses......I fell asleep, only to awaken to the noxious whine of former KC DA Claire McKaskill as she opined about the debate /yawn.
I lost interest after Palin said she was against gay marriage but then said she agreed with what she *thought* Biden said on the subject. Anybody else catch that bit of misdirection?
stop indulging the republocrats and vote 3rd party. - mcrunch2, on 10/04/2008, -2/+2biden said he and obama want the banks to lower the interest rate and the principal (value) of the loan on people's houses so they can keep them! What, no freebies for me? Lets pay for everyone's houses and apartments while we are at it. how about cars for everyone too? a chicken in every pot. Yep, only these are not paid for with his money (check out how LITTLE he gives to charity), they are paid by the taxpayers. lowering taxes for 95% when 30% don't even pay - hah!

Am I to take it that the republicans bear no responsibility for this financial fiasco?
How do you come to this conclusion?
For the first six years of the Bush era, the republicans controlled both houses and the presidency. President Bush only vetoed one bill in that entire time.
Democrats are almost just as capable of fouling up the works.
I will also assume that you blame the dems because of former officers of Freddie and Fannie. Pleasea note that Sen McCain has one as his advisor.
Why did the repubs not do something in 2004? They had complete control of the government and claimed to be aware of the looming problem.
What is so sad is how polarized we are. So much so that we can only see our own side.
We refuse to accept anything the other side says, don't look at, don't consider it, just dismiss it. We are so busy screaming at each other that nobody ever hears what the other one has to say.
Anyway, the debate did not do much for me. It did nothing to help me decide who to vote for.
As is usual, when politicians are confronted with questions, the talk about everything but. We hardily ever get a direct answer.
The most striking thing about the debate was the love fest between the Palins and Bidens at the end. My God, dems and repubs being civil to each other. They must have been drugged.
Or one of them is a traitor. Ha!
Frankly, I don't see much hope of getting a decent president for at least another 4 years.
Then we can go through this same name calling and insult hurling again
