Gov. Sarah Palin: Unequally yoked
worldnetdaily.com — McCain's political calculation is not hard to understand. The restive elements of his base may be placated, while some unhappy Hillary Clinton supporters (who prefer making gender rather than racial history) may be tempted to help put a woman in the batter's box for the White House. All in all that's not a bad day's work.

- aerostar, on 09/05/2008, -0/+3Alan Keyes, eloquent as always, makes many cogent points. Accurately phrased, Biblically grounded, these points have powerful pursuasion... but as most denominations quote from the SAME scriptures, yet come up with different conclusions, I have a slightly different take on the Sarah Palin issue.
While I agree with ALL of the Scriptural applications, I only quibble with "some" of the conclusions... Be-CAUSE... I both Old Testament and New, there are many illustrations of God's Faithful being in places of high authority even with HEATHENS and Idolaters.
Moses was raised in Pharaoh's Palace, but his integrity never wavered. Although he was powerless to influence or change Pharaoh... it was his position that vaulted him to a place of authority with his Jewish Brethren, that led to their ultimate deliverance.
Joseph was placed in a heathen environment, but never lost his calling, his anointing or his gifts. He had the "Gift Of Interpretation" when the butler & baker called on him. His gift also worked for the King himself, some time later... and then Joseph too was vaulted to a position of authority, that allowed him to protect & deliver his jewish family.
Daniel... and his friends, often referred to as the "3 Hebrew Children" (a misnomer of course, but one that is time approved and accepted, so we'll "deal with it") were in Babylon (ancient city where modern Iraq & Baghdad are located) and they (4) were untarnished by their association with Nebuchadnezzar & Belshazzar... Indeed, they were blessed with spectacular miracles, bearing testimony of their approval...!
Secular history tells of the Apostle Paul, being literally chained between to soldier/guards during his incarceration. History further details that the guards had to be changed EVERY TWO HOURS, because Paul's influence was so powerful, that others had been converted, before the "Time Restriction" had been imposed!
Only time will tell if Sarah-Cuda has the same degree of influence in her domain. I pray that she will.
I think that McAmnesty saw "the Handwriting On The Wall" - - - He had the nomination, but NOT the election. He won the Party Hot-Shots, but could NOT win the Nation.
Of course, none of us knows the future... but Odds-On, McCain will win now, and "IF" he lives through his term (he probably will, his family has great genetic longevity), SarahCuda will undoubtedly inherit The Mantle, and become a Great President. She already has a Great Record as Governor, criticisms not-with-standing.
I understand Alan's disappointment. It is a shame that the GOP ignored him so badly during the Primary Season. Alan is a tremendous thinker, strategist, analyst and public speaker. He would be a tremendous asset to ANY conservative ticket or administration. I truly mourn his having been deliberately ignored by the Party, the Media and the bulk of the voters.
Life is NOT fair... but let's get over it, and move on.
I haven't yet decided "who" I'm going to vote for... Baldwin or Keyes... or now with SarahCuda...? Maybe - - - - for HER! I cannot stomach McCain... and even less the Muslim in Sheep's clothing. But I will watch every event & speech and decision with rapt attention, and make a decision before Voting Day. Stay tuned...
Cheers, and Semper Fi- KJeffV, on 09/05/2008, -0/+3Excellent exegesis & prescient diagnosis!
- victorypup, on 09/05/2008, -0/+2I quick scanned your post. Did you mention Ester? Good thoughts.
- savvyconsumer7, on 09/05/2008, -1/+4Not one of the biblical personalities mentioned put themselves in an unequally yoked position of their own accord. Not Moses, not Joseph, not Daniel, not the imprisoned Apostle Paul.
In Hebrews it's recorded of Moses ...
"24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible."
Hebrews 11:24-27 (NKJV) - aerostar, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3Thanks guys for the kudos... and SavvyConsumer7, you make an excellent observation and raise what "appears" to be an inconsistency... Good job.
But... I STILL disagree with your conclusion... only because it is GOD who "raises 'em up & puts 'em down." (Paraphrased from Daniel, of course) So while it "appears" that neither Moses, Daniel (3 Heb. Ch), Joseph, etc had a "choice" in the matter... it may well be that Neither Sarah nor JuanMcC had any "choice" either. Only God knows how much "pressure" they felt imposed upon them, from above... BECAUSE, it is "God who raises 'em up & puts 'em down!" (Dan4:17, 25, 32, 35 & ch. 5:21.)
Personally, I don't think McCain has the personal morality or decency to "choose on-his-own" someone as wholesome & unspoiled as SarahCuda. I don't think he has the mental agility or brilliance to make such a decision "on-his-own."
My opinion of McAm-NASTY is as low as it is of our sub-illustrious "W-Shrubinsky." So I give Juan no credit at all. I give thanks unto the All-Mighty.
I still maintain that MY VOTE is more likely to go to Baldwin or Keyes, than it is GOP... but I do recognize that the public as a whole is ga-ga over SarahCuda, and her emergence as a Political Power. This... I cannot deny. So the next 60 days will be exciting, as TRULY, "History is being Made!!!"
And, "If" God Himself has PERSONALLY "steered" events in this direction, there is nothing that your vote or mine... for Chuck or Alan will do, to alter it.
Where WE as the public (Christian-God Fearing Citizens) have failed, is we have not CONVERTED enough HEATHEN to "loving & trusting in God and respecting HIS word of Righteousness. May God forgive us, and have mercy on us all...!
- frofisrael, on 09/05/2008, -1/+2whatever may have been McCain's motives in bringing Sarah Palin to the fore, he's done the right thing and I give him 100 pct credit for that.
