- chosenson, on 09/13/2008, -1/+9FTA:
Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan said the country can't afford $3.3 trillion of tax cuts proposed by Republican presidential nominee John McCain without corresponding spending reductions.
Greenspan, a lifelong REPUBLICAN and longtime friend of McCain, said today on Bloomberg Television's ``Political Capital With Al Hunt'' that ``I'm not in favor of financing tax cuts with borrowed money.'' - Jauladeoro, on 09/13/2008, -1/+10You don't even have to be Alan Greenspan to figure that one out. Republican economic policies just don't work. Your average American is experiencing it first hand right now.
- doubleplus, on 09/13/2008, -2/+6But what about abortion? Shouldn't we ignore economic policies, foreign policies, education policies, health care policies, and all other policies, so we can elect yet another lip service pro-life president who will do nothing for abortion but say he's against it??
- bbutterfly, on 09/13/2008, -1/+6This is an important issue, it address the past eight years of corporate consideration in regards to taxation at the expense of the middle and lower class workers. Then due to globalization and exporting American jobs, no one can pay these taxes.
- johndavidjack, on 09/14/2008, -0/+1You're right, corporations can't pay the taxes, maybe that's why they ship jobs overseas...
- bbutterfly, on 10/05/2008, -0/+0However, if we offer more jobs here then the corporations could pay taxes. the working class should not be taxed at a higher rate than a business that is for profit.

- LadyBeryl, on 09/13/2008, -2/+6I agree, doubleplus. I'm pro-life and an Obama supporter. Abortions continued under Reagan and both Bushes and they did absolutely nothing to help make abortions rare.
Republican policies do work though. They accomplish the goal of making corporations, including big oil and war profiteers, prosperous short-term. They just don't work long-term and are destroy the middle class in the process. - imaginos91, on 09/13/2008, -0/+8The few, the proud, The ULTRA-RICH! That is who McCain is working for. Elect him, Bankrupt the average American. Bankrupt our country.
If Alan Greenspan isn't siding with McCain, McCain's economic plans must be bad!
We can't afford any more Bush economics. We can't afford McCain! - chosenson, on 09/13/2008, -0/+8Note: McCain plans to pay for his tax cuts by eliminating earmark spending. But there is a problem with that . . .
FactCheck.org call's McCain's proposals "Earmark Sleight of Hand"

- johndavidjack, on 09/14/2008, -1/+2Weeee, this is great. The ex-chairman of the same institution that plays a huge role in devaluing our dollar that is destroying our economy is now being used as a pro-Obama reference...
Yeah, I guess the FED never played a role in bankrupting our economy, either did out of control government spending, as well as irresponsible consumer spending, including the housing market...
What's funny is half of you numbnuts will cite that big corporations have been making huge profits, even though with inflation and taxes now, the profits aren't much different than 10 years ago. I guess those Germans that were burning their millions of marks for heating were filthy rich too... - Diggobamanation, on 09/14/2008, -1/+1Alan Greenspan endorses for President. Hillary? McCain? Obama? This answer might surprise you...
http://digg.com/politics/Who_does_Alan_Greenspan_e ...- Robjayne, on 09/14/2008, -1/+1The best candidate was Dr. Paul. I may just write him in. I could not waste my vote on McBomba.
