Hey, Sarah—Organize This!
slate.com — It is possible that Sarah Palin really knows the difference between being a small-town mayor and a community organizer. But it's unlikely —because she has more in common with community organizers than she realizes.

- Crackerpat, on 09/06/2008, -8/+31I was just telling a friend mine that Digg doesn't have enough stories on Sarah Palin. Thanks for sharing this with us all!
- msk275, on 09/07/2008, -3/+7Best comment I've read today.
- jamespurdy, on 09/07/2008, -3/+6I logged into digg from my strictly work computer just to digg that comment
- ProfessorSYM, on 09/07/2008, -1/+3Get back to work desk jockey.

I hope that helps you.- vault, on 09/07/2008, -0/+6Why should he have to ignore all of 2008 US Elections when he just wants to ignore certain subjects that have overrun the entire category?
- ProfessorSYM, on 09/07/2008, -5/+3vault:
You don't have to click on the stories if you don't want to read them genius. So quit whining like a pussy. - vault, on 09/07/2008, -0/+5Ok, so let's say US Elections 2008 was all Fox News and LGF articles, then you complained, and I said "you don't have to click on the stories if you don't want to read them"
Same thing here, although I'm not sure why I'm trying logic with a twentysomething named Professor ShutYoMouth.
- shupy, on 09/07/2008, -8/+24For those of you who think that community organizing was Obama's occupation, you have successfully bought into the Republican half-truths. He was a community organizer after college, went to Harvard for law school then worked at one of the most prestigious law firms in the country, then taught constitutional law at U of C - one of the best law schools in the US. This is aside from being a state senator (over a territory more populous by tens of thousands than Wasilla). Obama went to Columbia and Harvard based on his own merit. Palin went to 5 colleges within 6 years. McCain graduated at the bottom of his class. They make a great team. At least Obama has the intellect and eloquence to finally stop the embarrassment at the presidential level.
Some high schools have more students than Wasilla has residents. Many cities have more residents than the state of Alaska. Palin has no legislative experience other than City Council. Little hands-on supervisory or managerial experience; needed help of a city administrator to run town of about 5,000.- Jagdhund, on 09/07/2008, -4/+6Eloquence and intelligence? Without a teleprompter, I speak more clearly than Obama. The things he says off the cuff are damned embarrassing. His desire for us to act like communist China, his constant changing on foreign policy decisions. It's pathetic and weak.
It is also sad to hear that going to college for 5 years is now the equivalent of graduating lowest in your military classes. There are many, many successful people in this world with no prestigious college on their resume... and there are many (George Bush) who have not lived up to their education credentials in any way.
You're position is elitist and smacks of foolishness.- dmcbride6, on 09/07/2008, -0/+4He wasn't suggesting that going to college for 5 years was the issue - but rather referring to her skipping from school to school. Though I am not too worried about this, I am curious as to the reason.
For what it is worth, University of Idaho is academically a very strong school and is by no means a fluff education like so many institutions. - zeazzz, on 09/07/2008, -2/+1You have friends?
- shupy, on 09/08/2008, -1/+2Right, when you manage to fill stadiums we'll believe you speak more clearly than Obama. Your remarks about communist china show profound ignorance.
- dmcbride6, on 09/07/2008, -0/+4He wasn't suggesting that going to college for 5 years was the issue - but rather referring to her skipping from school to school. Though I am not too worried about this, I am curious as to the reason.
- vault, on 09/07/2008, -2/+6And when Obama taught constitutional law at University of Chicago, he didn't publish a single paper.
And while McCain graduated near the bottom of his class at the US Naval Academy, Biden graduated near the bottom of his class at Syracuse Law School (which he lied and said it was in the top half), AND got caught plagiarizing a law review article, AND lied about receiving a full scholarship (he received a half scholarship which was need-based), AND lied about having received 3 undergraduate degrees.
What was that about half-truths again?- shupy, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3Obama was not required to publish.
The Delaware Supreme Court's Board of Professional Responsibility cleared Biden of plagiarism charges regarding the law school paper in late 1987.
Yes a single BA with a double major in History and political science, Stupid exagerations.
- shupy, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3Obama was not required to publish.
- tmyprod, on 09/07/2008, -2/+2I'm getting a little irritated everyone saying "oh Alaska has only like 4 people in the state". For starters, ***** you. and just so everyone is clear, AK's pop = 670,053 (2006 census) Wasilla's pop = 9780 (July '07).
I left AK a couple years before Palin became governor, so I don't know her policies or anything about her firsthand, but I will not change my vote just to get an Alaskan in Office. But this is not about Palin and her policies and experience.
670,053 people may not seem like a lot of people, but keep in mind, that is 670,053 ALASKANS. 670,053 people brave, crazy, and/or stupid enough to live in the harshest and most beautiful state in the union. So when someone decides to govern Alaska... Let's put it this was in 1969 the hell's angels were brought in to be security at Woodstock. But running AK is similar to being security at Sturgis (you have to be brave, crazy, and/or stupid) - vault, on 09/07/2008, -1/+1Why did you leave Alaska, tmyprod? Igloo market collapsed?
- Jagdhund, on 09/07/2008, -4/+6Eloquence and intelligence? Without a teleprompter, I speak more clearly than Obama. The things he says off the cuff are damned embarrassing. His desire for us to act like communist China, his constant changing on foreign policy decisions. It's pathetic and weak.
- toetagger, on 09/07/2008, -8/+21...except that community organizers are altruistic. Altruism is a dirty word to conservatives - that's why they laugh at Obama for doing it.
- ScienceDoc, on 09/07/2008, -10/+18Palin is an ignorant neocon tool.
- eclipse007, on 09/07/2008, -4/+5True, although, I see a lot of redundancy in your statement. ;)
- DCMacHead, on 09/07/2008, -11/+6Since becoming a Senator, Obama's been running for President. He's written two books and zero laws. A sad record to run on.
- itsJALbert, on 09/07/2008, -4/+8http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/?&Db=d109&qu ...
Do you just repeat everything you're told without verifying it?- DVision2406, on 09/07/2008, -2/+6I think the answer is obvious!!!
- arjie, on 09/07/2008, -2/+3While a lot of those are actually quite important laws (the photo ID one, for instance), I laughed when I saw this: "A resolution to congratulate the Chicago White Sox on winning the 2005 World Series Championship."
- christopheles, on 09/07/2008, -1/+1I was a proud White Sox fan when I saw that. I'd bet it's not uncommon for congress to congratulate sports teams. The president usually congratulates the team by phone.

- screamthenrun, on 09/07/2008, -4/+7Buried based on the fact that seeing digg smothered in articles about politicians makes me want to vomit. Can we PLEASE give it a rest for a few minutes?
[If you take a look at my profile, I haven't been very active on digg lately because I'm tired of digg being a political news site. I try to digg stuff that's unique.. not the same old McCain/Palin bashing, Obama worshiping, Ron Paul promoting crap that has come to rule digg. It's hard to find the other stuff these days.]- DealCracker, on 09/07/2008, -2/+2Yeah I agree. Tired of all these articles on the front page of Digg.
- wild, on 09/07/2008, -0/+18 more weeks and it will be over.
- smsnead2, on 09/07/2008, -2/+5Obama must not have been doing any "community organizing" in small town America. In a speech in Duryea, PA on Friday he told the town's mayor that he had just met and took a picture with some volunteer firefighters the day before and that volunteer fire departments must be a "pretty unique" thing. He said "maybe there few other states who do that" or something like that? Probably two-thirds to three-quarters of firefighters in this country are volunteers, including Illinois, his and my home state. I live in downstate Illinois and volunteer fire departments are prevalent. It's pretty unbelievable he didn't know of this before. Here is the video...
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001/vp/26562226#2 ... - DealCracker, on 09/07/2008, -4/+6Just keep piling on folks. Now Gallup has McCain / Palin pulling ahead. Seems like Americans like her and aren't buying all the mud slinging.
- mikesoba, on 09/07/2008, -3/+3It is a surge after the convention, since Obama has led nearly the entire time. Once folks have the opportunity to see the debates and how clueless McCain is and what a whacked-out freak Palin is, the number will change again.
To see the freak Palin, try this scary scary crap out:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bruce-wilson/sarah-p ... - bitfreak, on 09/07/2008, -2/+2Get back to us on November 5th. McBush won't make the grade.

- DeuceDiggalow, on 09/07/2008, -3/+2Who is this Sarah Palin gal yall keep talkin bout on this here internet web?
- odkin, on 09/07/2008, -0/+4The truth about community organizers is so simple. Obama worked with ACORN. ACORN is the most corrupt, left-wing, anti-capitalist activist group out there. They have committed voter registration fraud numerous times. They employ criminals. They storm and take over businesses that don't pay them blackmail tribute. They are complete and utter thugs. Most "community organizers" represent organizations that are actually criminal gangs - they "organize" in order to threaten and extort their targets. America is a capitalist democratic republic - our communities, familes, and businesses can organize THEMSELVES, thank you very much.
- akinapb, on 09/07/2008, -3/+1...what? Man, the same McCain supporters who criticize Dems for mud-slinging is posting this *****? Are you serious?
- AKWookiee, on 09/07/2008, -1/+2Interesting read on Obama and ACORN:
http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=NDZiMjkwMDczZ ... - baillingskater, on 09/07/2008, -0/+0i dont trust her one bit...plus i heard she made a porno
- elf202, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1"I am not a community organizer, but as a union-side lawyer, I know a few of them. Of Sarah Palin I know nothing except her lack of grace. She lashed into Barack Obama after a week in which he was the only public figure to defend her against the press, or at least to excoriate those who had focused on her daughter. She might have started with a thank you."
