Amandi said that some had also falsely assumed that because McCain shared Bush's moderate position on immigration, he would inherit Bush's support.
"President Bush making his life and career in Texas grew up with Hispanics, always had Hispanics in his inner circle and in his kitchen cabinet, and had a genuine respect for the culture," he said. "There was never an emotional connection, there was never a personal connection, between McCain and the Hispanic community."
Personally, I think it's this long, long, damn stupid war that has cost McCain. Hispanics have a long tradition of miltary service and according to lalatinista.com "Latinos know that the number one US ethnicity on the front lines of Iraq are Latinos." They don't expect their sons and daughters to have to risk their lives in immoral wars. The lives of their children are precious and their blood should only be spilt for a just and honorable cause. - MoneyTutor, on 10/10/2008, -1/+10According to Wikipedia's definition, John McCain, the Maverick, is becoming a traitor. His actions are examples of treason and he can be considered as a terrorist.
Terrorism is a political tactic, not unlike letter writing or protesting, that is used by activists when they believe no other means will effect the kind of change they desire. Terrorism is the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion. The word is politically and emotionally charge.
Chris Matthews - MSNBC shares this sentiment. Pass this on. - BishkekBuddy, on 10/10/2008, -1/+8There goes Florida, Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico

- bunkster, on 10/10/2008, -4/+5Not Florida! Cuban Americans are behind McCain. People know so little about how this state works! ( or doesn't )
- edstate, on 10/10/2008, -3/+1Let's see... even though HE was in favor of granting 10-20 million illegal immigrants amnesty... doesn't seem fair. Although, the dems are the ones who are pushing for voting rights, drivers' licenses, mortgages, welfare, et all, for illegals. Those are all pretty good currency for buying votes.
- Deoliver47, on 10/10/2008, -1/+2Florida doesn't only have Cubanos - there are many Puerto Ricans and other Spanish speaking peoples in the state - particularly in Tampa - who are solidly behind Obama. Many young Cuban Americans are supporting Obama too. Folks didn't take too kindly to McCain's statements about not being able to send relief to family members in Cuba after the hurricane.
- meuse, on 10/10/2008, -1/+2Is anyone surprised Hispanics are supporting the black candidate? The white man is their common enemy.
