'Hockey Mom' Palin Booed -- At Hockey Game
eandppub.com — You never know where you are gonna find a political scoop, but Lynn Zinser at her NYT hockey "Slapshot" blog just posted that Sarah Palin, in her much-ballyhooed appearance dropping the puck at the Philly Flyers' opener, was greeted by "resounding (almost deafening) boos from the Flyers crowd."

- jojolina7, on 10/12/2008, -0/+17i think palin deserves all the boos she can get. i do feel badly for her daughters though.
- acroyear2, on 10/12/2008, -1/+6Yeah. She should've known not to take her to a potentially bad photo-op like that.
- richirwin, on 10/12/2008, -0/+6Dude, Bristol is knocked up by some Alaskan redneck who she's going to have to marry in a shotgun wedding.
A few boos are the least of her problems. - avataros, on 10/12/2008, -0/+2"Why were they booing us, mommy?"
"Because they're all sinners and they're going to burn in hell, honey"
"Yaay! Sinners burning!"
- unradical, on 10/12/2008, -0/+16That was hilarious. Why in the hell did the NHL think this was a good idea? The sports leagues should stay out of politics. Whats next, Senator McCain dancing with Terrel Owens after he scores a touchdown?
- booksnmore4you, on 10/12/2008, -0/+15Sounds like Palin's got favorables about as high as Bush's, by now.
- jveisdal, on 10/12/2008, -0/+11that's the best thing ever. only wish it was a red wings game and they would have pouned her with good luck.
- charm803, on 10/12/2008, -0/+8It's about time she gets out of her bubble. She lives in a world where she is only surrounded by fans and doesn't realize that the rest of America is not too thrilled.
- otis12, on 10/12/2008, -0/+2Lol Obama sign at :34
- avataros, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1This reminds me of a line from Tip O'Neill's book "All politics is local":
"Never, ever allow yourself to be introduced at a sporting event. You will be booed. And that's the only thing the media will report". He is referring largely to a shelling he got at a BoSox game, but as far as rambunctious fans go, Flyer fans are in the same ballpark (take it as a compliment).
Wasn't there a NASCAR event in a competitve state like NC, IN, OH, or VA she could go to instead? - shimmi147, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1I watched the game. I love how they blasted music as loud as they could to tone down the booing.
- jizzlies, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1She should be booed - she's a liar and an idiot:

And THAT is a tough combo! - eVi0let, on 10/13/2008, -0/+0 "Fox also revealed: "The GOP Vice-Presidential nominee said at an earlier fundraiser that she would stop some of the booing from the rowdy Philadelphia fans by putting her seven year old daughter, Piper in a Flyers jersey. She said, 'How dare they boo Piper!'" "
She calculatedly put her daughter in the Flyers jersey to stave off the booing... Using her children for political gain and to shield herself should put her up for mother of the year, right? What a piece of work this woman is...
