Horse pucky - MT GOP now challenging military voting rights
greatfallstribune.com — The Montana Republican Party has challenged the right [of the military stationed in other states, or even overseas] to vote because their mailing address is different from their voter registration address! [They] must prove — before election day — their right to vote in their home precinct.

The bastards are doing everything their evil minds can come up with to steal the election! Now they target soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen who are serving our country?! WTF!- AmeriPatriot, on 10/07/2008, -0/+0http://www.montanavotersuppression.org/

- DuggDowner, on 10/07/2008, -1/+24First they slash our troops' benefits when they come home, now they rob them of their right to vote? How long will America keep letting fake patriots like John McCain use and abuse or soldiers for their political gain?
- JenniferInMO, on 10/07/2008, -1/+8Don't forget about failing to properly equip our troops. We have also worn our soldiers out with multiple deployments.
- auntazalea, on 10/07/2008, -0/+13Shameful.

- greenfruit, on 10/07/2008, -0/+13This BS from the GOP goes far far beyond typical election season attacks. This is just plain undemocratic and unAmerican.
A quote from Martin Luther King, Jr. comes to mind: "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
And for those out there who refuse to believe this:

It's an opinion piece from the REPUBLICAN lieutenant gov. of Montana about this very same issue. He says:
"But the executive director of the Republican Party crossed the line when he attempted to remove 6,000 voters from the rolls in Montana. These voters are law-abiding citizens and are legally registered. Some are veterans. Others are active servicemen, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan or about to be deployed there.
As a Republican, I was ashamed to hear of this. But as a Marine, I was outraged. Why would the Republican Party, which always claims to care greatly about our troops, do this?
It appears that Republican operatives looked to gain an advantage by purging as many voters as possible from counties that lean Democrat. The director of the Republican Party issued a blanket challenge to validly registered voters based on false criteria"

Those of us with loved ones who are serving in the military and stationed in other states, or even overseas, should be up in arms at the latest attempt to suppress votes in Montana and disenfranchise our brave men and women in uniform. The Montana Republican Party has challenged their right to vote because their mailing address is different from their voter registration address! Montana soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen must prove — before election day — their right to vote in their home precinct. The drive to suppress the vote is targeted only to counties that perform well for Democrats.
Montana's not the only state where vote suppression is under way. In Michigan and Ohio, Republicans are challenging voters who've lost their homes through foreclosure. College students, construction workers living at a site, military families and any others who have mailing addresses that are different from their voter registration addresses will be targeted ... but only if they live in Democratic areas.
Republicans say they're "protecting the integrity of the system." Horse pucky. Montanans know a scam when they see it.
This is repulsive action from the Republicans!
We all have the right to vote!
We ALL need to be up in arms about this! It UnAmerican! - niradg, on 10/07/2008, -0/+11I hope that this backfires on the Montana GOP. Though McCain is ahead there, he doesn't have a lot of strong support. It's not a big state and when word gets around, people will be angry.
- jackieblu, on 10/07/2008, -0/+9Unbelievable! This is evil!
- AmeriPatriot, on 10/07/2008, -0/+4Add this to your signatures, post it in blogs, post it in forums, WE NEED to get this out.

- VoteGOP, on 10/08/2008, -5/+0Any soldier who doesn't stand behind his commander in chief and support McCain doesn't have the judgment to be granted a vote.
- magus_melchior, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Wow... I don't know what to say to you, man. That sort of mindset is so antithetical to what makes this country great, it boggles the mind.
Let them vote. What are you afraid of? Are you afraid that Obama will be proven right, and we are sick, tired, and angry that pricks like you dominated us for the past 8 years?
- magus_melchior, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Wow... I don't know what to say to you, man. That sort of mindset is so antithetical to what makes this country great, it boggles the mind.
- whoreable, on 10/08/2008, -0/+3Of course they would try to do this. The military is the group of people who have been screwed the hardest by republicans.
