INTERVIEW WITH MCCAIN HECKLER ADAM KOKESH.
prospect.org — At the beginning of McCain's speech, Kokesh held up a sign reading, "McCain Votes Against Vets" and yelled, "Ask him why he votes against vets!"

Quite good from an American perspective.

Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) is open to anybody who has served in the military (Active Duty, National Guard, and Reservists) since September 11th, 2001. Military members who are currently serving can be guaranteed confidentiality.

massaks: no, they served their country, which is much more than we can say about neo-con heros like bush, cheney, wolfowitz, and limbaugh. perhaps you feel they are "phony soldiers".
funny how generation chicken hawk supports the war so much:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFGit_tZDqs - BT1000101, on 09/06/2008, -2/+1Veterans who are against war are the most hypocritical pieces of ***** on Earth! If you were against war, why the ***** hell did you join the Military to begin with? Did you assholes think you were just going to be hanging out on a sunny beach somewhere flirting with underage girls? How can you assholes take credit for defending your country when you trash the very thing you did to defend it? There is NO logic there! If you have a problem with ANYTHING your Government might ask you to do, then don't join the Military, you hypocrites!

- PFCWilliams, on 09/06/2008, -4/+19I thought having a free and open society was suppose to be a good thing?
O I see, a free and open society is not good when its an opportunity for you to criticize McCain.
Shall we hire more police and install more cameras and create more lists of suspected terrorist and make people walk around with papers identifying their political affiliation just so we can stop hecklers from getting into their oppositions political rallies?- Wartyboskfapped, on 09/06/2008, -0/+7Now you're catching on.
- biogears, on 09/06/2008, -6/+5'Free and open society' - The dems wouldn't let in republican hecklers, so are they against a 'Free and open society' too, or does the double-standard rule stick?
- FairDinkumMate, on 09/06/2008, -2/+7Only he wasn't a Democrat at the Republican convention, he was a REPUBLICAN!
So now not only do the Republicans not let Democrats into the Republican convention(makes sense really or it would just be a "people's" convention!), but they remove Republicans that disagree with them as well?
- Jagdhund, on 09/06/2008, -0/+4Protesters aren't terrorists, and are not treated as such. The GOP stands for respecting the rights of the individual, including assholes who want to try to disrupt speeches.

- mcsenget, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2at this point, just voting for anybody other than the main parties will be sending some sort of message...and if you write in Ron Paul, that is very moral, but unfortunately he is not on any ticket so your vote won't be indicated in any way at all.
If all Ron Paul people voted for Bob Barr, at least he might be able to get into some debates and have a small percentage shown in the election...
I still understand your qualms about Barr's record. I don't like it much either, but he is our best chance at interjecting a third party candidate and he is still pretty much guaranteed not to win.

no mention that one of the anti-war protesters was an Iraq War veteran.- pintomp3, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2protests are covered only in passing in the corporate media. during conventions, the press are herded into the convention hall and arrested if they dare step outside to report on the protests.
- oldgal, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2actually, I saw this covered on 2 networks.
- kemp34, on 09/05/2008, -5/+42Support the troops, bring them home from the unconstitutional wars.
- oldgal, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2Iraq is no longer an unconstitutional war, it is an occupation. The Bush administration works hard to keep it defined as a war because if it were seen by the American people as an occupation the conversation and the media coverage would be quite different. I have heard Obama reference it as an occupation (I wish he would 100%), but I have never heard McCain reference it as such.
- AchaIemoipas, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2Huh?
Are you saying the occupation that followed the illegal war is now legal? - oldgal, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1It is probably an unconstitutional occupation, but I am not familiar enough with constitutional law to make that assertion.

- mytealjacket, on 09/05/2008, -14/+18Ya but don't waste your vote on Bob Barr!!! If you don't want McCain to win, the only way to vote against him is by voting for Obama. Period. Otherwise you're just throwing your vote away... you're not 'sending a message' to anyone.
Please vote for Obama, we can't risk it this time. I don't want WWIII.- kosmoX, on 09/06/2008, -7/+5A vote for freedom is NEVER a wasted vote.
- sparkleton, on 09/06/2008, -2/+6While I understand your point that voting for a 3rd party or an unlikely candidate will have little to no effect on the election, I disagree with what you say in that voting for what you believe in is never a wasted vote.
- pintomp3, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3that is true, but bobb bar is not the genuine article. he is trying to swoop in and capture the energy of the ron paul campaign. he pushed for investigating a blowjob which cost millions of dollars. he was a big a neo-con as any before he got voted out on his ass and decided to glom onto the libertarian ticket. while they are considered fringe by the corporate media, the only true 3rd party candidates are paul, nader, and mckinney.
- Akairenn, on 09/06/2008, -5/+3I won't be wasting my vote on Barr, I'll wisely be spending it on Ron Paul. The simple fact is, Obama hasn't proven himself worthy of my vote. FISA alone is enough to turn me away from his cause.
If McCain gets in, it will be because that's what this country wants and it will deserve no better - not because I or anyone else are voting for who they feel best represents them and their interests.
And as for, 'We can't risk it!' - we didn't risk it when the Democrats were put in power over Congress. What sweeping changes they made then, am I right? No, I'm afraid you'll need to come up with something a little bit better than, "BUT OMG TEH REPUBLICANS R EVILZ!!!!!1111111111 CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" before I become delusional and vote for a man who is diametrically opposed to so many things I believe in - just for the sake of not seeing McCain in the White House.- Wildfire760, on 09/06/2008, -1/+2I'm sick of people saying that the democrats have not done anything in Congress. You do realize that Bush has the power to veto every bill put in front of him right? This is where the term gridlock comes from. The Democrats can't get anything done with a Republican in the White House. If you truly want to see what the Democrats are about, then you need to put a Democrat in the White House.
- MarkOfTheDead, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1Then don't bitch when McCain wins. Thank yourself and everyone else who felt a need to make it their personal election instead of accepting the lesser of evils that will actually make a difference in the long run.
Christ, You might as well not even vote at all.
And which 3rd party candidates did you vote for last 2 times which allowed this 8 years of terror? Seriously, I'm actually interested.

As a matter of fact. I'm a 2 time Iraqi War Veteran myself. I would love to know what this guy did when he "served". I did my time on the "front lines" leading troops on the ground, and can give you concrete proof of what was really going on during the times I served.
A lot of guys who deployed didn't do *****, and come back and speak out against the war because of their experiences ...
Those members of the military make me sick. But, it's there right and I have to respect that.
Jonathan- johndavidjack, on 09/06/2008, -3/+3Dugg for real pictures from Iraq with real perspective, and respect for the protester's rights, regardless of whether you think he's right or wrong.
- LordoftheLoo, on 09/06/2008, -2/+10Actually, McCain has voted against some things for veterans. Here is a link that maybe will show you what this protester was talking about. http://www.veteransforcommonsense.org/articleid/95 ...
(While I respectfully disagree with you, I'd just like to say thanks for serving our country...not to sound corny or anything) - 30thElement, on 09/06/2008, -3/+10I heard him speak once, and he talked about how he served on the front line. He talked about the retaking of Fallujah, how he was there and had to wait several days because high command knew it would be messy and wanted it to take place after the November Election. He talked about how because they just sat outside of the city for several days, waiting for the Election to end, the insurgents had ample time to prepare, and consequently more Marines died then needed to. He was a Marine that joined BEFORE 9/11, and one of the few that cared enough about the Iraqi people that we were trying to save to try to learn Arabic. Do not question his patriotism or service.

- JigoroKano, on 09/06/2008, -2/+4That shut him the ***** up.
- 11b1p, on 09/06/2008, -1/+1I did vote for Kerry
Sorry JigoroKano I have a job so I don't check back on my comments every nine and a half seconds
- FairDinkumMate, on 09/06/2008, -2/+5Isn't it a pity that the founding fathers didn't have the foresight to include eligibility criteria to run for President....
Oh wait, they did? Oh, so maybe they just weren't as smart as you and didn't realise that everyone that loved the USA would serve in the military and anyone else shouldn't be counted. I can't understand why people that haven't served are even allowed to vote, I mean they obviously don't love the country so why should they even have a say?- RRJackson, on 09/06/2008, -1/+2The founding fathers also equated a black man to 3/5 of a white man. Let's not pretend they were infallible.
- 11b1p, on 09/06/2008, -2/+1Only people who have served the public in some way should be full citizens. I believe we should have a mandatory 2 years of federal service after HS and before college. Doesn't have to be military, Could be peace corps americorps, anything. Imagine people just out of HS learning a useful trade. Like plumbing or construction or anything. Even if they go off to become lawyers, they could be called out for a local emergency like Katrina. Citizens helping Citizens. that sound good to you?
- pintomp3, on 09/06/2008, -2/+5does that mean you voted for kerry?
- GilThanis32, on 09/06/2008, -6/+1CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR AWESOME
- buzzgp, on 09/06/2008, -9/+3There is a good reason why you did not see hecklers in the audience on camera at the DNC. It's called class.
P.S. Keep on hating it's good for the home team.- ironhide, on 09/06/2008, -1/+6Let me try to explain this to you. Adam Kokesh is a Ron Paul supporter. Ron Paul ran for President as a Republican...do I have to draw you a picture? Kokesh isn't a Democrat.
- buzzgp, on 09/06/2008, -5/+1Please!
Mr. IVAW is just another puppet of the left overs from the late 60s and early 70s. He may claim to be a Ron Paul supporter, but he's just a professional protester trying to get some airtime for IVAW and VVAW. He was probably out drinking with Jane Fonda before the speeches. The picture your drawing is a little fuzzy. - ironhide, on 09/06/2008, -3/+4Proof buzzy? That's right, you don't have any. Kokesh is 26, somehow I doubt he is a puppet left over from the 60s-70s. You lack focus grasshopper.
P.S. Jane Fonda? Get the ***** over it. You're a parody and don't even realize it. - buzzgp, on 09/06/2008, -5/+2I guess you are the one lacking focus as I said " puppet of the left overs from the late 60s and early 70s.
back at ya
- buzzgp, on 09/06/2008, -5/+1Please!
- uqdroma, on 09/06/2008, -1/+1Another example of class is when McCain gave admiration to Obama in a commercial before the DNC acceptance speech, not to mention during his own. One thing Americans love is class. It's a trait of a DOER.
- ironhide, on 09/06/2008, -1/+6Let me try to explain this to you. Adam Kokesh is a Ron Paul supporter. Ron Paul ran for President as a Republican...do I have to draw you a picture? Kokesh isn't a Democrat.
- buckwheat12n, on 09/06/2008, -6/+0What's really funny anymore is anyone who would publicly declare themselves a Democrat or Republican and then pretend they were intelligent or want to admit it to anyone. All these dumb ass's that keep posting this crap are annoying and show that the hole Democrat vs. Republican thing has gotten out of hand. It's no longer about what's good/bad or right/wrong but whether a liberal or conservative backs it. Quit being parrots and use what little brain power you have to educate yourself. ....All these anti-Mcain post's that have infected Digg recently make the all the people who support Obama look desperate. Politicians in general are crooks, don't make them look smarter than what they are. I have no problem with who one votes for, but vote for the candidate (as bad as they are) not the party. The protester(s) made the "Democrats" look like fools. I saw none when Obama was giving his speech. I'm just saying. How does it look.
- blinkerbug, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3umm.. you didn't read the article did you?
- Birdie1111, on 09/06/2008, -10/+2Bunch of childish idiots with nothing better to do than post this stuff. Not one of you have ever had it tough, much less spent time as a POW. Why don't you grow up, read some history books and find out what heroes are and how they have fought and died for you to spend you time posting this crap. As John McCain says why don't you go out and help someone, feed a hungry child, help a senior citizen. No, I quess you are too important to do that, What a bunch of selfish, arrogant know it all idiots.
- Gogogo111, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3LEAVE JOHN ALONE! HES A POW!
- TheDarkstarter, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3I DO go out and do volunteer work and help underprivledge kids, but Palin just said that community organization stuff isn't so important, it apparently doesn't have enough responsibiliteis for her. I think for her it didn't pay enough, she could get paid more being mayor than doing community work. What kind of message is the GOP trying to send.
- uqdroma, on 09/06/2008, -1/+0She didn't say it was not important. She just said it doesn't necessarily make him qualified to "organize" Washington. Obama asked for it when he called her qualifications in question.
- AhrenBa, on 09/06/2008, -1/+11WOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! CAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on man, no need for all caps in the title.
- mach32, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1S T U N N I N G
- freedomics, on 09/06/2008, -8/+2I believe in free speech, but heckling is just an attempt to stomp on someone else's rights to free speech. Heckling is just one more cause of the breakdown in civil discourse that has helped put us in the mess we're in.
- h4ckler, on 09/07/2008, -0/+1Yeah let us forget the fact McCain is a liar and a carbon copy of the plasticman who sat in the oval office for the last 8 years.
If this were the colonies he'd be strung up and hanged. Don't bitch to me about someone heckling a politician. If you're not keeping them honest then you're allowing them to blatantly lie. Go to wal-mart and get a new point of view freedomics.
- h4ckler, on 09/07/2008, -0/+1Yeah let us forget the fact McCain is a liar and a carbon copy of the plasticman who sat in the oval office for the last 8 years.
- Proctor, on 09/06/2008, -1/+2Bob Barr? Total opposite of Ron Paul and a neocon. WRITE IN RON PAUL.
- mach32, on 09/06/2008, -4/+0there's another vote for obamarama
- HubbertWins, on 09/06/2008, -0/+5Nice to see the Digg Deathsquads are out in force again tonight. Brownshirts FTL
- DeuceDiggalow, on 09/06/2008, -4/+3THAT'S PRETTY COOL, EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT A RON PAUL SUPPORTER. AT LEAST HE DISSED MCCAIN.
- AzraDarkness, on 09/06/2008, -0/+6well atleast he didnt turn into the next Don't Taze Me Bro...
- dialectical, on 09/06/2008, -2/+1I am of the opinion that heckling at a convention does more harm than good. In fact, if I remember the 04 campaign and the GOP convention all the heckling at that time seemed to help Bush and get people to rally behind him. In fact, I think they Republicans secretly love it when this happens and play up to it. Just another chance to start screaming USA USA USA.
Heckling is actually a determent and really ineffective. I hope this stops because whatever cause you are rallying for or against most people will consider a Heckler to be at best annoying and at worst will out and out reject what they are saying without even hearing what they have to say.
You will be much more effective if you join an organized and peaceful protest, start a grass root movement or spread awareness for your cause in an organized and non-disruptive manner.
"Pick your spots Baby, Pick your spots."- charliebucketts, on 09/06/2008, -2/+2The media does not cover peaceful protests because they are boring. Adam is part of a grass roots movement of veterans.
- boonesfarm, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3I understand that a McCain heckler interview makes it to Digg, but I had to laugh when he said he'd vote for Barr. At least he still can't stomach Obama.
- mytealjacket, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2Hi, please don't get me wrong, the two party system has left us with two corrupt groups. 3rd party candidates don't stand a chance--and it's because of the way we count our votes. We'd have a little more democracy and representation if we moved to instant runoff 'ranked choice', or proportional representation methods. But what we have now, 'winner takes all' reinforces just two parties, because you're 'forced' to vote for the lesser of two evils. Otherwise you may effectively be voting for the candidate you least prefer. For example most Nader voters would have preferred Kerry as their second choice, but unfortunately ended up helping Bush (as we all know).
I didn't mean to put anyone down for my comment, so sorry if I offended.- uqdroma, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1Dugg up for honest opinion.
I tend to agree. It is my opinion though that if a third party really wants a chance they need to make themselves know for 4-8 years like the Dems and Reps, instead of showing up all the time 6 months before each election. Face it, that's how the two parties get it done. For instance, Lieberman has now been an Indy for a couple years. He would have a fighting chance in '12.
- uqdroma, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1Dugg up for honest opinion.
- Pedestrian101, on 09/06/2008, -3/+11An interview with a heckler made it to the front page, what the ***** has happened to Digg?
- eigenweasel, on 09/06/2008, -2/+1But he's a heckler on "their side", so its OK.
If he was a drug-dealing pedophile on "their side", that would be OK too.
But if he was a perfectly decent person who happened to have different opinions on a handful of issues, he would be an evil monster. - KDX200rider, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1Digg has gone completely loony. If someone had heckled BHussienO during at the DNC I am pretty sure he would not be on the Digg front page. The moderators and the army of left wing digg droids would see to that.
- ChristPissed, on 09/06/2008, -1/+1The "heckler" you belittle is a United States Marine Sgt. and an Iraq War Veteran. What the ***** is it with ignorant chickenhawks on Digg?
- Pedestrian101, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1By that I assume you mean anyone who disagrees with you. Also, a heckler is a heckler is a heckler.
- eigenweasel, on 09/06/2008, -2/+1But he's a heckler on "their side", so its OK.
- charliebucketts, on 09/06/2008, -4/+1Adam is a gracious guy whose NOT afraid to take a stand, but please, he is part of a movement. Putting him on a pedestal doesn't help end the war. He's talented and I don't know how he got in there. But please, let's get ahead, of the next war, we don't need another careerist.
- ChristPissed, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1You obviously did not read the article and know liitle about about Marine Sgt, Kokesh. He was given a pass by a Ron Paul delegate to attend the convention.
- goodolboykt, on 09/06/2008, -3/+1Next time they need to just take him outside and beat the hell out of him!
- h4ckler, on 09/07/2008, -0/+1Yeah way to be a communist pig!
