- fajitamelt, on 09/07/2008, -4/+2Ok, fine, let's have another 9/11. All that really matters is our right to say the words "***** Bush" anyways.
You know, some people in the world don't have those simple rights, to say "***** _____," to practice whatever religion, to hold up signs and chant on sidewalks, to vote for the person that will lead the whole country. It makes me sick to see this kind of crap, this "I'm not giving up my rights in the name of terrorism" crap. BE GRATEFUL YOU EVEN HAVE THESE RIGHTS.
If I knew I could prevent another terrorist attack by letting the government spy on me talking on the phone, I would let them spy. I know I'm not a terrorist, and by letting them spy they could potentially catch some people that are ***** up in the head.
They say that our soldiers give their lives to defend our freedoms. They give up their LIVES, but we can't even give up our PHONE CALLS?
I expect this comment will be dugg down, but I'm hoping for the opposite. - redcolumbine, on 09/07/2008, -0/+4The Constitution was written to ensure government of laws, not of men (monarchs). But we now must invoke it to restore government of laws, not of corporations (I keep typing that "coproations," which I suppose is apt too). You don't secure your rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness by arbitrarily curtailing those rights among people who live on top of petrochemical resources. Haven't we already reaped enough of what the petrochemical industry has sown?
