If Rove Were A Democrat
andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com — Wouldn't we be seeing ads like this:
- 201 diggs
- digg it
- rawg, on 08/15/2008, -3/+14That ad is pretty good and everything in it about McCain is actually true. I wish someone *would* run an ad like this to expose McCain's hypocrisy.
If Rove made an ad it would be much more underhanded and outright deceptive. He would imply that McCain was a secretly gay, communist sympathizer who was programmed by the Vietnamese to be their "manchurian candidate." Then insinuate that his 5 1/2 years in a POW camp was a cover story and that his marriage with Cindi was a sham. Also, McCain is really a closet muslim who is the prophesied "pale rider" of the apocalypse.
Of course none of that is true... as far as I know... - Dibou, on 08/16/2008, -7/+1I'm confused. If Rove made an ad like this, wouldn't that mean (in the Democrat fantasy world) that it is filled with lies and nothing about it was true. So that would mean that none of this was true and in fact the exact opposite were true, which is:
- McCain is an excellent student, pilot, husband, politician
In fact you guys just look silly by making a lie-filled, slime-ad and pretend you would be too good to do it, so you pretend 'this is what Rove would do'.
Pitiful. - 7Mystery, on 08/16/2008, -3/+1This ad belongs to cable!
- DavidIrons, on 08/16/2008, -1/+5I'm glad Obama isn't running these sorts of ads. None of the attacks mentioned have anything to do with McCain's platform and therefore are just an attempt to discredit him for president solely on personal attacks. While some want to win an election at ANY cost, I feel that the victor should run a dignified campaign and that is something Rove knows nothing about.
