- pyrobaby, on 10/12/2008, -0/+27The head of the VA GOP actually invited a TIME magazine reporter to their HQ to witness him telling the McCain canvassers to compare Obama to Osama bin Laden?? Great move there, champ. Have fun getting fired.
- oldgal, on 10/12/2008, -0/+6Interesting that the repubs wouldn't let the reporter go out with the canvasser, but the dems would. For all that McCain says about transparency and accountability, the actions of his campaign staff indicate to me that he would run an administration cloaked in just as much secrecy as the Bush administration.
- JumpingJack79, on 10/13/2008, -0/+5Hey, why didn't he just call Obama "Macaca"? That's a proven recipe for Virginia...
- 5celery, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4They are so embroiled in a fantasy that they don't even know it is outrageous - it is a hell of their own creation, and they will likely be living in it for at least 8 more years.
- schuylercolfax, on 10/12/2008, -0/+23FTA: "I'm voting for McCain," the father told us. But his 19-year-old son, a college student home for the weekend, told us he plans to send in his absentee ballot for Obama. His reason? "Palin's a retard," he said.
- virtualval2001, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2smart kid.
- mikbunn, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1Eh, it runs in the Palin family.
Yes, I'm a terrible person; I also tittered like a schoolgirl every time they said "we haven't had a race like this in Virginia since..." You know, cause he's black. - thelif, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1Palin's a retard.
- dhendrix1, on 10/12/2008, -0/+13Isn't it nice when they send people out to deliberately tell lies?! How very typical of the GOP.
- cerwax, on 10/12/2008, -0/+16This type of behavior is EXACTLY why I won't vote for McCain...the complete lack of honesty is amazing. What will they do in the
white house...continue to lie and misrepresent to get what they want. I've voted Republic in all previous Presidential elections
since I became an eligible voter but not this time!
Obama didn't win me...you drove me away!- pyrobaby, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1Thank you for having that kind of integrity. Not a Republican myself, but I'm hoping that this election will show the GOP that slander and sensational lies are not what our elections need, and they won't pull this stuff again in 2012 (also hoping the Dems don't either). I used to really like McCain before the smear-happy jerks running his campaign got to him.
- Maurice2u, on 10/12/2008, -0/+10Dana Bash of CNN and two internet journalists tracked down the woman who was recently corrected by McCain on Obama's ethnicity. The follow up interview was more enlightening by far.

I think that race is the underlying issue and that people want to rationalize their continued fear of others somehow. McCain himself told her she was wrong - but she still believes her crap - - she sent out 400 letters to people and brags about preaching this stuff to her children and grandchildren. She feels that because she got the information on a computer at the library that it is true. Very sad - but also dangerous and must be addressed.- virtualval2001, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2You can digg that up here:

- seamus32, on 10/12/2008, -0/+8Ah, there's nothing like "Country First." Or could it maybe, possibly be "Me First?" Well, I guess someone has to uphold the fine tradition of Dick Nixon and George W. When the facts aren't on your side, make sure the lies are.
- cowboytrumpet, on 10/13/2008, -0/+4And they did it in front of a reporter. That's outrageous. That's what I don't understand about this campaign. Past Republican campaigns had the good sense to let third parties do their dirty work, but these guys dump the body in broad daylight, in front of a police station and then they call the police to come outside and look. I'm thankful for their stupidity, but dumbfounded by their lack of creativity.
- betheliza, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3i am completely speechless.
- virtualval2001, on 10/13/2008, -0/+2They are scared. Losing power is scary.
- dtmbcorp, on 10/13/2008, -3/+2I live in VA and I'm convincing everyone I can to vote for Nader/Gonzales 08!
- alfergison, on 10/13/2008, -1/+0You and those like you are part of the reason this nation is in the predicament it's in today. The idea that you're willing to cast your vote for a ticket that has absolutely no chance in hell of ever winning the election is irresponsible, at best. While it is clearly within your right to vote for whomever you please, it seems utterly ignorant to vote for the Nader/Gonzales ticket when doing so accomplishes only one thing: getting McAsshole and Caribou Barbie one wasted vote closer to the White House.
- larissa13, on 10/14/2008, -0/+1Thats the wrong mentality. Every vote counts! More importantly, its time the Democrats & Republicans realize there are other options (better options) available to the American people.
- dtmbcorp, on 10/14/2008, -0/+1I refuse to vote for evil.

- tigerduck, on 10/13/2008, -0/+5McCain, the man said. "She has to live here. The kids I can kick out."
Pretty pathetic in this day and age isn't it, that a spouse can essentially threaten the other in regard to casting a vote? - schkura, on 10/13/2008, -0/+3I'm almost as excited about Barack ending the war on scholarship (condemning people who have actually learned things) as the war in Iraq. Conservitism as a movement has insidiously pushed an anti-intellectual agenda for years because it is easy to play the "they-think-they're-smarter-than-you" card to the base. As we can see from the extensive video taken outside McCain/Palin rallies, the base is filled with pliable morons.
- thelif, on 10/13/2008, -0/+1*whisper* I do think I'm smarter than them.
