In July, McCain Promised His VP Would Appear On Larry King
thinkprogress.org — Earlier today, ThinkProgress noted that since becoming Sen. John McCain ’s (R-AZ) running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin has rarely taken questions from the press. In July, during an interview with CNN’s Larry King, McCain assured King that his running mate would appear on King’s show shorty after his announcement

OH really? So then when will Obama:
1. Provide an original certified copy of a Birth Certificate.
Why do some members of his African family believe he was born in Kenya and that he is a Muslim?
2. Release ALL his University, Foundation and Tax Records.
3. Release his Passport and travel history.
4. Release the history of his multiple citizenship's.
5. Release the history of his Baptism or conversion to Christianity.
6. Explain why HIS experience for office, trumps Mrs. Palin’s.
7. Explain how he is going to introduce CHANGE by naming a 35 year loser as Vice President.
8. Since being born to a Muslim father - the Muslim world considers him Muslim.
Ask if he has formally refuted Islam to accept Christianity.
9. Explain why so many of his mentors, friends and supporters are recognized as Black Racists, Radical Leftists, Communists, Domestic and Foreign Terrorists or Felons.
10. Explain why he has not yet thrown his two Weatherman Terrorist friends under the bus as quickly as he did his white grandmother?
11. Explain if he renounce his US citizenship when you obtained Indonesian citizenship? Did he ever attempt to claim your US citizenship before the age of 25 as required to keep it?
12. Did he go to Pakistan to visit his Muslim family and friends using an Indonesian passport?
13. Were he a Muslim until the age of 22 when he said you 'converted' to Christianity?

1) First off, some of those records Obama CAN NOT release. The schools/companies themselves have to release them. Get your facts straight.
2) Who the ***** cares about his Baptism? Or his religion? You do NOT have to be Christian to be the president (or any other office, for that matter). If anything, I want a ***** agnostic in there!
3) Are you going to be publicly advocating the transparency in records for McCain and Palin (or even W. Bush (military service records, please))?? Yeah, I didn't think so.

how about "NOT" - tcbishop12, on 09/05/2008, -6/+105According to Nicole Wallace of the McCain campaign, the American people don't care whether Sarah Palin can answer specific questions about foreign and domestic policy.
According to Wallace (on Joe Scarborough's show) "the American people will learn all they need to know (and all they deserve to know) from Palin's scripted speeches and choreographed appearances on the campaign trail and in campaign ads."
That ain't all: Despite earlier promises to the contrary, Sarah Palin is now refusing to cooperate with the trooper-gate investigation. Her lawyer now says she will refuse to be deposed unless the head of the current investigation relinquishes control and hands the investigation over to the state Personnel Board made up of three of Gov. Palin's appointees.
The GOP strategists are trying to hide and cover-up the worst VP candidate in modern history. They only need her for her image until election day. Bit as Sarah Palin has proudly described herself - she is nothing but a Pit ball with lipstick. Give her a script, and she'll deliver it. Is that what America needs, after eight years of Bush Cheney administration, a frothing, rabid, fanatical vindictive anti-feminist religious wingnut extremist and self proclaimed vicious b_tch (lacking in every qualification except the ability to tear people down) for a Vice President a heartbeat away from the Oval Office?- paintgrl, on 09/06/2008, -2/+18Well said. - DJVoid, on 09/06/2008, -0/+9Sarah Palin has comparable intelligence to that of a box of hair. And yet here is our country's VP-elect.
I keep seeing statements such as, "They are afraid such-and-such will expose her as the unqualified candidate she is". Are you kidding? Can anyone even say ANYTHING that would remotely imply she is ready to run a McDonalds, let alone THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?
But, this is our country, and a large percentage of our population are ***** idiots. ***** idiots. - iMyst, on 09/06/2008, -0/+3It's certainly not like it's the president and vice president in control of the country. It's obvious it's the speech writers. They're the puppetmasters.
- BishkekBuddy, on 09/06/2008, -5/+59Don't you just have to wonder how it would have been received if Biden had chosen not to meet with the media for 2 weeks so he could "get up to speed" on Obama's positions? Gad....
- bernstein07, on 09/06/2008, -5/+1I kinda wish Biden would have run for President. I think I'd vote for him more than anybody.
- Sup3rSh3ep, on 09/06/2008, -0/+13you should have vote in the primary then.
- QuadZeroRoute, on 09/06/2008, -18/+5Biden DID run for president. Biden pulled fewer votes than what Palin got in her mayoral bid.
Biden pulled 10,000 votes in a presidential bid or did you miss that. Palin was mayor of a city of 9,000.
Palin is to Alaska
population 683,478
Biden is to Delaware
population 864,764
You could fit 250 states the size of Delaware into the state of Alaska, a state with more coastal borders than that of practically all the other states combined.
Alaska has the same number of electoral college votes as Delaware.
130 times the affirmative action candidate voted present because to vote yes or no was too tough. CEO's mayors and governors must make decisions, you cannot vote present. Obama has never managed anything and has never managed in crisis. Obama is the least experienced candidate in the last 100 years.
I agree with Joe Biden that the position of the President of the United States of America is not the time or place for on the job training. In the single most important decision, to increase the number of on the ground troops John McCain made the right call and called for the increase in the number of troops.
When Joe Biden's wife and children were killed in an accident leaving two children injured and in the hospital, nobody asked Joe Biden how he was going to be a Senator and take care of his family. Sarah Palin has a husband that is very capable of taking care of children and between her husband and care takers they will do fine. - AmazingSteve, on 09/06/2008, -2/+7So what's your point. Gore got more Votes than Bush and that didn't seem to matter. Have a seat.
- csimpkins, on 09/06/2008, -1/+9@QuadZeroRoute
Not that it REALLY matters, since you're trying to equate apples and oranges... the entire argument is absurd. But since you brought it up, put those numbers back in your ass where they came from.
First of all, the population of Wasilla was closer to 5,000 at the time she was mayor. Second, in her first run for mayor, she was elected with just 617 votes. In her second, it was 909. Biden collected 63,157 votes, even though he dropped out after Iowa. - funkyloki, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1Quad, what does the physical size of the state have to do with anything? Most of Alaska is unpopulated federal land that the Governor has absolutely no control over. You can tell that just by looking at the population numbers you posted. But still, WTF does that matter?
- Taiyoryu, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1I would have demanded the same thing from Biden as I do from Palin. That they provide media access. The difference is, I at least know a little about Biden based on his campaign during the primaries. Palin I know next to nothing and it doesn't do her any good if I'm unable to sift through the news, rumors, accusations and innuendo without getting her side of the story. I don't vote for question marks.
- plooger, on 09/08/2008, -0/+0Hell, I don't have as much of a problem with her not being up-to-speed on McCain's positions, both because of (1) the fact that McCain only chose her the day before the announcement and so she didn't have time to prepare, and (2) McCain's positions have changed so much since 2000 that she might be familiar with Sen. McCain's positions but not candidate McCain's. She could still do the interviews and take a pass on those questions.
What I have a problem with is that she's wholly uninformed on national and international issues, has an atrocious governing record, and is being kept sequestered to protect the manufactured image.
And the media seems to be repeating their mistakes from 2000 and 2004, assisting in the election of a disastrous Presidential ticket.

OH RLY?
A woman does not earn respect by voting for someone simply because they're the same gender. You get respect by actually deliberately weighing your choices and choosing the best candidate that represents you. Those women don't realize that Palin most likely represents everything opposite of what they do. That forum is nothing more than a female clique for grown-ups who never outgrew high school replete with the same spite and conformity. Talk about copouts. They would rather settle for ANY woman as VP in 2008 rather than re-strategize and push for their first pick as President in 2012. That's disgraceful. I bet you not one of them even knows there are still women candidates for PRESIDENT.
Green Party is an ALL WOMAN ticket: Cynthia McKinney / Rosa Clemente
Party for Socialism and Liberation: Gloria La Riva / Eugene Puryear
Since these women only vote on a gender, I don't see why they'd have any problem supporting the PSL any more than they do Republicans.
Ever since Palin came on the ticket, it seems like this election has taken on shades of a popularity contest.
These women help make a point, though the situation isn't limited to just them. For all its resources, the average education level of this country simultaneously blows my mind and makes me sad. What's sadder is the average education level of those in office. Which makes me contemplate the question: is it smart for the US intelligentsia to stay out of politics?

Are you willfully ignorant or is it something you can't help. This is not about her just not going on Larry King's show (which was promised), it is about her refusing to interviewed AT ALL until she is comfortable and ready. She is not Qualified and each day shows it more and more.
As for this whole Liberal/Conservative thing... why not try being INDEPENDENT! It frees you to think for yourself. Try it sometime, you might like it (thinking that is)... lol You might be less inclined to name call and close your eyes and ears to what is going on around you.- legatus, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1If you are not seeing interviews with her how does each day show she is not qualified more and more? It would see there is nothing learned at all.
- funkyloki, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1For all the people here who always say I don't mind them wiretapping me or searching me without warrants, I have nothing to hide, you have to ask yourselves, if she won't be interviewed, what does she have to hide?
- cedarbaydave, on 09/06/2008, -2/+15Hahaha Larry King a firing squad. That is priceless.
- nickels, on 09/06/2008, -4/+7Damn that elite liberal media for asking tough (sexist) questions. Just shut the ***** up and do what your told.
- langdonalger, on 09/06/2008, -3/+3wow, elite? pretty cool of you to have such a high opinion of them as to call them the best at what they do.
edit: i understand your sarcasm, though. it's just a reflex when i see the nauseating misuse of that word, even if it's parody.

- schwagoo, on 09/06/2008, -18/+7BooHoo she isn't on my show!! Larry King should go wash his smelly eel infested vagina.
- nullcodes, on 09/06/2008, -2/+6OK, instead of asking her useless crap about that trooper scandal etc. which should be forgot cause its silly I hope he asks her about her views that arent out there cause she hasn't had to be talking about national issues like the other candidates have been. Is she going to close Gitmo, like McCain would. Is she going to take a stand against torture and defend the constitution ? Will she resolve the immigration issue similar to how McCain would?
- nycjap, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2Actually, if it's true, it's not silly. It would be abuse of power, which is exactly what you'd want in a person assuming the second most powerful office in the land.
- funkyloki, on 09/06/2008, -0/+1And probably the first most powerful position in the land soon if McCain were elected.

- jdenzer, on 09/06/2008, -3/+7kind of like how O'reily and Hannity blasted Obama for not appearing on Fox. But I guess we are just suppose to ignore that, right? And we are suppose to ignore the fact that McCain was suppose to run a clean campaign.

- mmw09, on 09/06/2008, -8/+7It's been less than *a week* since her first public appearance at RNC... and all this hubbub about going on Larry King. Is Larry a rite of passage for political office? Even so, John *did* say the candidate would get in front of the camera, but did not say as his first priority after announcing or even if it was prior to being elected. Let's not call anyone a liar yet. In the 'order of operations' I would only put my VP candidate on Larry if the other VP candidate went on too and only if Larry did both interviews prior to the other being public.

Here is the truth - I call it the theology of the cockroach. Even though we humans evolved from apes, we pretty much have the same number of chromosomes as a cockroach. All animal life on the planet is remarkably similar. The main difference is we are more self aware. Think about it, doesn't it make more sense that where ever a cockroach goes when you step on it, is the same place we go. So if you beleive cockroaches go to heaven, then I guess thats where you go. But I suspect even you Christians know that cockroaches go - NOWHERE.- joseguia, on 09/06/2008, -1/+2I'm not a religious fellow either, .. but COCKROACHES, .. come on now - why can't we be FLYING NINJA MONKEYS
flying ninja monkeys ( http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=fly ... )
Flying Ninja Monkeys(AKA FNM's) were once the dominant race on this planet...however after hundreds of years of war between them and Flying Ninja Gorillas(AKA FNG's-see Flying Ninja Gorrilas for definition) the FNM's decided to hide their survivors and reamin in secrecy...only recently has their been rhumours of 2 wise men known as Corby And Vahon, have been able to command these FNM's...i was among the first to fall to their extreme power...WARNING: let no force ever underestimate their power.

- deleo, on 09/06/2008, -2/+12Obama, Biden and McCain (aside from his CNN boycott) have no problem going on Meet the Press, CNN, Fox News etc. to discuss their positions and answer questions. Sarah Palin reads one speech at the convention and we may not see her again until the debates. I can't believe that millions of Americans have no problem voting for Sarah Palin when 60 days out from the election, the McCain campaign policy is no Sara Palin questions and no interviews, just vote for her. And by the way to the media, stop asking questions about who Sarah Palin is and investigating her in any way. Just shut up and vote for her. What a great democracy we live in!

- AmazingSteve, on 09/06/2008, -4/+3The press needs to be tossing NOTHING but uncomfortable questions at her every time she dares stick her head out of McSame's ass. These dolts figured that by trotting out a woman the Hilary supporters would defect in hoards screaming "hooray for vagina's all the way. It's pathetic, transparent, and is a move of desperation. Sooner or later she's going to have to go in front of the press because they smell blood in the water, and when that happens, they WILL NOT just accept the party line on her. They will dig and dig until she's got no choice but to face them. The question to keep asking of Palin is...
If you have nothing to hide, then what's the problem? You know, kind of like the wiretapping arguement that the Republicans love so much.- b4gk1lz, on 09/06/2008, -0/+0The press needs to also be tossing NOTHING but uncomfortable questions at Obama, but there are too afraid they will sound politically incorrect. It amazing that the press won't do their job and dig and dig and get the real facts behind the Chose Socialist.
- bitbytebit, on 09/06/2008, -2/+3why are the majority of mccain supporters using words like obamabot, moonbat, and crap like that. I do see a few reTHUGlican mentions here and there, but the majority of the playground words are coming from the mccain/palin camp.
Also, there can be a 4 paragraph message with thoughtful points about why palin is a bad vp pick and why mccain will pretty much finish destroying the usa and the only rebuttals are things you would hear a gradeschooler say.
Is it because this majority is under 14 years old? or are they just scared hicks? ..I really want to know.- Wartyboskfapped, on 09/06/2008, -3/+2Because they've all been up for 7 days straight astroturfing these threads, trying to shout down criticisms of their newly imprinted motherfigure. - loganro, on 09/06/2008, -1/+4Why do the majority of Obama supporters using words like McSame, McDumbass, and crap like that. That is the thing with ignorant liberals...You guys think you can say anything, but when the same stuff gets dished out, you bitch about it. I don't get it.
I think the majority is under 14 years old, because they are the only ones that would try to 'act' cool and say they are a liberal. I truly don't believe that a sane adult can support a Barack H. Obama.- bitbytebit, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2without devolving into namecalling .. why?
after watching a little bit of mccains speech last night the impression I got was he is only thinking short term, which is proper because he doesn't have long to live, but still ..
he was trying to whip the crowd into a frenzy with empty promises and contradictory ones at that. 'drill baby drill', energy independent in 10 years (he'll be dead), then goes on to say that obama is also for energy independence but wants to do it with clean energy (implying that thats a bad idea .. I mean wtf?)
clearly mccain is not fit to be president, and his choice of vp kind of underlines that.
Given that our society won't allow an independent as president we have 2 choices: mccain or obama
mccain is going to rape the environment in the short term and get us into war after war
obama is going to think long term and help develop alternatives to the rape and 'hopefully' keep us out of wars.
so again I ask you .. .how can you support mccain?
also - since I wrote the original comment I do see a lot of 'caribou barbie' and 'mcsame' names .. they are usually used in intelligent comments rather than the 'no you are!' variety, but still I see that neither side blameless
- bitbytebit, on 09/06/2008, -0/+2without devolving into namecalling .. why?
- nixfu, on 09/06/2008, -1/+3Because Obama supporters have been making HUGE ASSES out of themselves for much longer.
