Interactive state-by-state prediction map says Obama wins
hubdub.com — An Election Map but it's not a poll. It's based on 50 underlying prediction markets that respond in real-time to breaking news, so the forecasts are continually updated, and proven to be accurate. And they're predicting that Obama will walk it.

- MookiBlaylock, on 09/24/2008, -2/+22I seriously hope so...not looking forward to 'Palin' as Prez.
- MacBookForMe, on 09/24/2008, -5/+3Would love to see it!
- SpankkBankk, on 09/25/2008, -2/+1I can't wait to see her sexy ass getting inaugurated!
- lesleye, on 09/24/2008, -1/+18I'm glad I'm not American. If you guys vote McCain/Palin in, I'll never have respect for any of you again - don't let it happen, please.....
- hughesunderdahl, on 09/24/2008, -11/+2Yet you would like a guy with zero experience to be pres like Osama? Foreigners are plain weird.
- maccam94, on 09/24/2008, -0/+7Experience? Palin has a higher chance of becoming president of any VP in the last couple of decades, and she has even less experience than obama. Plus a lot of good McCain's "experience" is doing him, he's a deregulator, he has supported bush 95% of the time, his attack ads are full of lies, he won't meet with the press... At least Obama is offering new ideas, and he hasn't been corrupted by Washington DC yet.
- 10lbhammer, on 09/24/2008, -0/+4and good job with the "osama. oops! I meant obama!" *****.
shill. - SpankkBankk, on 09/25/2008, -0/+110lbhammer... Tell Ted Kennedy that....
- Velly, on 09/25/2008, -0/+0Totally agree... she's very dangerous. Too bad she's distracting from the issues at hand...
- abarysh2, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1I'm not American, but I live here... Please vote Obama for me, since I can't! :(
- hughesunderdahl, on 09/24/2008, -11/+2Yet you would like a guy with zero experience to be pres like Osama? Foreigners are plain weird.
- njetx, on 09/24/2008, -8/+11I believe this map is part of the liberal media. It is also sexist and doesn't give due deference to Palin. I am confident the American public will not be influenced by this cheap media scam... ;-)
- djgfx, on 09/25/2008, -1/+2you are a moron
- InfernalMachine, on 10/04/2008, -0/+1Reality is a left-wing conspiracy.
- welshboy82, on 09/24/2008, -2/+9According to this Florida will be THE key battle ground state - things always turn out for the best when that happens...
- SpankkBankk, on 09/25/2008, -0/+1You mean like how it ended up perfectly these past 8 years.. Yep thanks to Florida.... They will help elect McCain/Palin.... Get them tissues ready libtards
- ConAmoreEFuoco, on 09/25/2008, -0/+2While I'll shoot myself if that really happens, this map actually says that Florida is insignificant. Based on their predictions, Obama has 293 Electoral college votes without any tossup states such Florida. Obama only needs 270 votes. Therefore, Obama is locked in with 23 votes to spare. According to the prediction.
- mebble, on 09/24/2008, -2/+8If McCain & Palin are elected, it will indicate that these last years have been no mistake, the forces obscurantism are endemic ... and the United States is a has-been super power, well past the point of no return. If McCain & Palin are elected, we must hope that the devolution of the American empire will be peaceful and, in its death throes, will not take out a large part of the rest of the world.
- Mathieugothax, on 09/24/2008, -2/+5As much as I hope that Obama wins, you have to remember that we are on the net, which is way more pro-obama than in the real world. Even more as we are on Digg. Just keep that in mind ;)
- hughesunderdahl, on 09/24/2008, -5/+2Hear hear. That's cuzz liberals hate to work and love to sit around and complain. Republicans are busy working to pay the taxes so the lazy ass libs can keep DIGGING
- GardenRetreat, on 09/24/2008, -3/+8I SURE HOPE THAT YOU ARE RIGHT

...OH, FORGET IT
- badwithcomputer, on 09/25/2008, -0/+2YOUR CAPS LOCK IS BROKEN BUT I THINK I CAN FIX IT FOR Y-
- onlysc, on 09/24/2008, -2/+7pretty awesome map
- SethEllis, on 09/24/2008, -4/+4It's a great map, with an interesting perspective, but there's a lot of things on there that I really don't agree with. There's a lot of states on there such as Colorado, and Pennsylvania that are in the solid Obama category when they should be at least leaner if not undecided.
- InfernalMachine, on 10/04/2008, -0/+1If you don't agree with the map, you can join the site, and bet your play money on what you think the result is going to be. The map is showing the result of a prediction market for each state. The reason the number differences are more dramatic than the polls for each state, is that the prediction market is asking who wins the state (if A is ahead by 12% in the polls, they are way more likely to win than B, so that might show up as a 25% or more advantage for A over B in the prediction market).
- ivencente, on 09/24/2008, -5/+2i vote for john obama!
- AmyVernon, on 09/24/2008, -2/+7One thing that I think everyone can agree on? Election Day can't get here fast enough. Doesn't it feel as if this election has been going on for YEARS?
- MookiBlaylock, on 09/24/2008, -0/+5Doesn't it feel like 8 years since we had an opportunity for a change.
- techguru2006, on 09/24/2008, -0/+2Agree with Mooki
- life38, on 09/24/2008, -1/+7The map reflects an interesting way to measure. By not using polling the figure the likelihood of a state going to one candidate or another it provides a better glimpse of the states that are really in contention, which I think it hits fairly well. Since polls have in recent years been more about the questions, who got called at what time, who picked up the phone, and who told the truth, they are less reliable. I liked having a different approach.
- hughesunderdahl, on 09/24/2008, -8/+3Go McCain!!
- Surferess, on 09/24/2008, -1/+6Yeah! Go Blue!
- techguru2006, on 09/24/2008, -0/+8Silly map, Alaska isn't under the U.S., it's next door to Russia.
- EustaceTilley, on 09/24/2008, -7/+3Speculation map... any one can make one
buried- lesleye, on 09/24/2008, -3/+2erm, go ahead and make one then mr smarty pants. I'm sure we'd all love to see it.
- fadeout, on 09/24/2008, -1/+4We shouldn't get too cocky... but it is awfully nice to see an election where Florida honestly doesn't matter.
- bananasluggy, on 09/25/2008, -0/+2When the world ends, Alaska can't come too.
- djgfx, on 09/25/2008, -1/+1Bush Cheney 08.....syke OBIDEN all the way!!!
- JlmAWP, on 09/25/2008, -1/+298 to 2 in Illinois? That seems a bit....off. I mean, we love the guy and all, but there are plenty of idiots here too.
- EffYoo, on 09/25/2008, -2/+1Did anyone actually look at the information provided by this map?
The margin of victory is greater than 10% in all states except for two.
The margin of victory is greater than 20% in all states but seven.
The margin of victory is greater than 50% in 34 states.
This data is obviously useless. - njetx, on 09/25/2008, -1/+1@EffYoo
Go back and look at the data again. The data isn't poll data or even a forecast of the margin of victory, it is a forecast of who will win that state. For example, Alabama is 96/4 to McCain not because the forecast is that McCain will win 96% of the vote. It is a forecast that McCain will almost certainly win Alabama (96% chance).
