Interviewer Reminds Obama He's A Christian-Not A Muslim
onthewriteside.org — In a recent interview with George Stephanopoulos, Obama discussed how McCain has not made an issue out of his "Muslim faith" during the presidential campaign. Stephanopoulos then reminded Obama that he is "supposed" to be a Christian.

{And, another "Welcome back!" to Holly & blessings to you, Johnny!}- onthewriteside, on 09/11/2008, -0/+4Thank you Jeff! I've missed you guys!!!
- KiminCA, on 09/10/2008, -7/+2The desperation of Senator McCain's campaign never ceases to amaze--
and the length that this Campaign, and his supporters, will dive right down into divisive mud is equally incredible.
Watch the interview again and then ask yourself if it is good for your soul to bear false witness. If you are not yourself a Christian, then I advise you to stop trying to manipulate those of us who are. We are not as stupid as you think we are.- KJeffV, on 09/10/2008, -1/+5Izzit sumthin' in the air in CA? I used to ask this question about Joisey, but the answer was, "No, it's in the water."
- bluto36, on 09/10/2008, -1/+4"We are not as stupid as you think we are"
I know, i think it is worse than i have ever imagined.
- Ramble, on 09/10/2008, -8/+51. It's clearly a mistake. I'm neutral in this election by the way.
2. Who cares what his faith is?- KJeffV, on 09/10/2008, -2/+71. Yep, a mistake known in psych circles as a "Freudian slip." Congratulations, BTW, on your GB citizenship & follow-on lack of importance to this PotUS election.
2. Did you want a complete list, or wuz that a rhetorical question?- Ramble, on 09/10/2008, -6/+4A Freudian slip isn't usually preceeded or followed by lots of umms, ahhs and mistakes. I know the US election is important all over the world too, just don't like either of your candidates.
Also, yes I'd like a list of whats wrong with all the possibile faiths he could have. For balance, could you put what would be wrong with him if he had a Christian faith? - novaculus, on 09/10/2008, -5/+8So Ramble, your argument is that Obama is too inarticulate to utter a Freudian slip? That is racist, my man, and it also flies in the face of his PR meme.
By the way, please accept my apology in advance on behalf of the American people for failing to elect the preferred candidate of the rest of the world in general and Europe and Great Britain in particular. It is arrogant stupidity such as this which has prevented America from taking its place as the most productive, successful, wealthy and powerful country in the history of the world. Oh, wait... - novaculus, on 09/10/2008, -3/+7Ramble, damn near forgot to mention it.
To paraphrase a REAL comedian: "Take Russell Brand. PLEASE."
Take him back before we are forced to bitch slap his ass halfway across the Atlantic. (He can swim the rest of the way. He looks like he needs a bath.)
And you can keep Madonna, too. - Ramble, on 09/11/2008, -3/+4Attack the person rather than the points - I'm impressed, got anything of substance to offer?
Of course I realise this is your election, I'm pointing out I'm neutral because I don't like either of your candidates.
Also, I'm afraid America isn't the most powerful, wealthy or successful country to ever grace the Earth. Sorry, you can cling to your Reagan-era American dream if you wish.
I do agree with you about Brand and Madonna, both are just horrible, just as bad as Bono and Bob Geldof. - novaculus, on 09/11/2008, -1/+5Attack the person rather than the points? I didn't even digg you down. I simply mocked a foolish notion, i.e., that Obama is too inarticulate to utter a Freudian slip. His skills of elocution are legendary, at least among Democrats. Of course, his forays away from the teleprompter may be tarnishing that legend a bit.
The liberal elites of Europe have much in common with the liberal elites here in the USA. Among those commonalities, neither knows when to shut up. The liberal elites here fail to understand that the tidal wave of sexist and elitist criticism they have unleashed on Sarah Palin is so damaging it may have doomed Obama's hopes of election, yet they continue the vicious smear campaign. The liberal elites of Europe continue to sneer at America and American culture, unconcerned that most Americans are offended by their self-righteous arrogance and condescension. If recent history is any indication, those elites cannot run their own affairs either profitably or peaceably, yet they feel free to tell us how to run our country. They would do better to keep such opinions to themselves. Most Americans have nothing but contempt for those opinions, and we are sick and tired of rescuing their ungrateful asses from disasters and conflicts of their own making. At present the only question apparently remaining regarding the destruction of Western culture in Europe is whether the elites can surrender to Islamist supremacists before they are swallowed whole by Mother Russia. Until the end they will blather on, all the while sipping vino, pontificating on the advantages of multiculturalism and equivocating on the immorality of Russian brutality.
We take rightful pride in our productivity, our success, our wealth and our power. We have earned it, and in the process proved the benefits of a free and democratic society. Given the less than impressive performance of Europe and its elites by these measures, their sneering arrogance seems all the more hypocritical. You say we are not the most wealthy, powerful and successful country in history? Then who, pray tell, is?
I appreciate your fair response, although I disagree, and I appreciate your candor regarding the nasty little troll Brand. I share your opinion on Bono and Geldof, who should stick to music and charitable efforts, keeping their ill-advised political opinions to themselves. Perhaps Germany can be convinced to take on the lot, Madonna included. - Ramble, on 09/11/2008, -3/+3I've no idea what you're talking about concerning Muslims or Russians, in my time (I've lived for a few years on the continent too) I've come accross at most 2-3 Muslims and I've never met a Russian.
I also don't share the notion that Obama is perfect, I don't regard his public communication skills as excellent.
If you wish to know, then the most wealthy country/economic zone would be the EU, or Britain back in its day. The most powerful countries have been places such as Babylon and Egypt. the most recent powerful empire was the British empire. - novaculus, on 09/11/2008, -1/+3Now you are damaging your own credibility. No one familiar with the state of affairs in Great Britain and Europe regarding the immigration of millions of Muslims who will not assimilate but seem determined it Islamicize their new homes can deny the existence of the problems. Ignoring the recent Russian invasion of Georgia will not make it go away.
The EU is NOT a country (yet). Even if it were, do you seriously suggest the EU is comparable? Don't be ridiculous. The other examples you give were powerful in their own eras, but they simply cannot compare to the accomplishments and stature of the US in absolute terms.
Get real. - Ramble, on 09/11/2008, -3/+3I think I'm more versed on immigration problems within my own country, and in others since I have lived in them too.
There is not an influx of Muslims, at all. If there are then you'd agree with me there are an influx of Jedi also, looking at the statistics.
The EU economic zone is the largest in the world, so yes I'd say it was comparable since it's the biggest.
In absolute terms of course the US is the most powerful, because it is the most recent, all of the most recent empires are the most powerful, absolute terms of power are useless. The fact is the US hasn't progressed the world a great deal. In terms of technology, exporting ideas or economic prowess. - novaculus, on 09/11/2008, -1/+3No influx of Muslims?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1054090/Th ... - Ramble, on 09/11/2008, -3/+4The daily Mail is possibly the worst news source in the UK. Completely unreputable. As bad as Fox news.
- novaculus, on 09/11/2008, -1/+3Just incredible. Classic. Can't refute the facts so you attack the messenger, who isn't even the source.
The author, A. N. Wilson is an historian and author who writes for a number of publications on an irregular basis.
You have zero credibility at this point. - Ramble, on 09/12/2008, -2/+3You're doing the same.
I live here, I read rather a lot of news here, we have arguably the best news organisation in the world here, the office of national statistics is bookmarked.
You are wrong, quite simply.
Also, please point out where I attacked the messenger? As far as I know I can call in the reliability of a source or news agency, that's perfectly legitimate. I have evidence the Daily Mail is sensationalist - can you oppose my claim? - novaculus, on 09/12/2008, -0/+1Nonsense. I haven't attacked the messenger, I have attacked the moronic message.
You have attacked the messenger; you have yet to take issue with a single argument made by author and historian Wilson, which absolutely contradict your preposterous assertion that Great Britain is not struggling with problems directly caused by out of control immigration, and the refusal to assimilate by Muslim immigrants.
Despite your failure to discredit a single word of Mr. Wilson, i submit another source: Abdul Rahman Al-Rashed.
"For over ten years now, myself and other Arab writers have warned against the dangers of recklessly handling the issue of extremism that is now spreading like the plague within British community.
It was never understood why British authorities gave refuge to suspicious characters previously involved in terrorist activities. Why would Britain grant asylum to Arabs who have been convicted of political crimes, religious extremism or even sentenced to death? Not only are they admitted to the country, they are also provided with accommodation, a monthly salary, and free legal advice for those who want to prosecute the British government.
The answer I believe is what I call "blind generosity", despite its legal or political pretenses. This bizarre logic stuns those such as students in search of establishing their careers abroad, who are rejected citizenship. These people do not have criminal records like the others."

Do read it all; it only gets better.
"Until recently, there was the delusion in London that extremists will not target Britain, but rather only use it as a base, protecting their freedom as they worked against Arab and Islamic governments. For this reason, Britain was full of convicted opponents known for propagating their extremist ideologies. The time has come for British authorities to sternly deal with extremism before complete chaos is unleashed onto British society.
In the past, we talked about stopping them. It is now time to expel them. "

- Coven, on 09/11/2008, -3/+2I'll give you the fact that you provided 3 seconds more of the interview than WND did on their posting regarding this interview. What you still fail to provide is the rest of that little exchange.
here's even MORE of the interview than you provide: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVn59TC2QqM
The audio is a little out of sync but it is uncut through that portion of the exchange.
Pay close attention to the seconds AFTER what you provided.
What really is pathetic is that you KNOW this to be true. You're lack of honesty is astonishing.
