Iraq Veterans Against the War March at the DNC watch!
youtube.com — Protests against the Democratic National Convention continued Wednesday as members of Iraq Veterans Against the War led an unpermitted march to the Pepsi Center to call on Barack Obama to back an immediate U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. The march began at a concert by the rock band Rage Against the Machine.

- graphictype, on 08/29/2008, -0/+13The agreement to listen to the vets was done only to get them to disperse rather than have the full force of the police come done on them. Imagine with all the media coverage that was there how that would look if you had fully armored police pepper spraying decorated vets and arresting them.
I already know the letter was never read or the event mentioned at the DNC but can anyone confirm that. - gemlarin, on 08/29/2008, -0/+15Great video, great message.
Add me to the list of Iraq vets against war.
Wish I could have marched.
also, I salute the old vet @ 5:22- digitronix, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1You have to add yourself. Go to http://ivaw.org. You will need proof of military service.
- ChileanGoD, on 08/29/2008, -0/+8Soldiers.. you're just tools of imperialism. Your devotion, your sacrifice is only remembered by those who seek to shine their own image by it. Tools that are thrown away once they have been used. All the pretty talks about glory and heroism are just cute pads in the back to get you brainwashed into doing the horrible, the unthinkable. Long are gone the days of noble causes and the seek of true justice, for a better world. You fight do not for the benefit of everyone anymore but for the benefit of the few. All my good feelings for these few good man and woman in the video that are standing up and trying to make their voices be eared.
- ChileanGoD, on 08/29/2008, -0/+5Is it me... or the Canadian media is totally ignoring the protests? I'm baffled.
- Waiting2awake, on 08/29/2008, -0/+2Completely ignoring it. Here in Toronto I was watching some morning news and they showed all kinds of pictures and comments about the DNC convention, but nothing, not one word about what was happening outside.
Canada, and Canadians, better start to wake up as well. Listen to our political news - regardless on which political slant you have - it is starting to get very "American" with attack ads and FEAR.... - ciaran036, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1Canadian media? I saw nothing in America nor Britain about the DNC protests, just some clips from inside the Pepsi Centre, that's all.

- eldudereno, on 08/29/2008, -0/+12It amazes me how different the police treat veterans compared to civvies. Is it because they know the Vets know how to fight or because they know the public respect the soldiers more
- alma4nader, on 08/29/2008, -0/+8Ditto.Have you all seen the cop knock the teeny tiny little 24 yr old code pink woman named allison flat out onto the ground with his baton? It was horrifying. Then they took her to jail. Code Pink put up the $500 bail, but release is taking a long time. Watch for this one in the courts, i hope.
- AchaIemoipas, on 08/29/2008, -0/+5Cops are pretend soldiers. Those were real ones. They were scared.
- Minarchian, on 08/29/2008, -0/+16If those "cops" were to attack the vets it would have been a public relations nightmare for them.
So they made up some tripe that the vets will be heard by Obama or the delegates.
Crowd dispersed, issue resolved....vets taken for a ride, again!
I hope they learn from this at the RNC convention that they will NOT be fooled again. - FrankHope, on 08/29/2008, -0/+15From the video: "We're going to hold them [the Democrats] accountable."
Support our Troops. Stop the wars. - peacepower, on 08/29/2008, -0/+8That's a great video. I hope those watching it and thinking about enlisting will learn something here. The wars our leaders are dragging us into are unnecessary. Why give your life and health in a war that doesn't protect our country?
Don't give your life for a potential Commander-in-Chief who won't even listen to your point of view, as if he knows better than those on the front lines. - Hangly, on 08/29/2008, -2/+7What I wouldn't give to see the police try to ***** with these guys.

IVAW members are now on their way to Minneapolis for the annual IVAW convention. Many will stay on in Minneapolis for the Republican National Convention. - FrankHope, on 08/30/2008, -1/+2This video became popular. Woo-hoo!
