- MadSquirrel, on 12/05/2007, -1/+16"Some will see the immigration and border security aspect of it; others will see the assault on the moral foundations; still others will profess to understand some elements of the destruction of the economic sovereignty of our people and the constitutional sovereignty. ...these are not separate issues"
An excellent article, well worth the time to read!- KJeffV, on 12/05/2007, -2/+13Countering the claims that Keyes has CFR backing/ties, his columns & speeches should have dispelled any misgivings anyone may have experienced. One doesn't hear these kinds of goals—nor these kinds of explanatory details!—fr/the other candidates.
- these3remain, on 12/06/2007, -0/+7Amen! After reading this article, it really clarified for me why I won't vote for Ron Paul. I'm not telling everyone else who to vote for or condemning them for who they vote for but I am indeed, really weary of Ron Paul supporters on this site insulting other people for supporting other candidates. Now I understand why - the love element is missing.
- these3remain, on 12/06/2007, -0/+7Excellent article; a constitutionalist who does not advocate isolationism.

- Kent4jmj, on 12/05/2007, -2/+12Keyes singular message that our Rights and Sovereignty are connected to the "Creator" as stated in our Constitution is an absolutely unique one in comparison to the other candidates. Does he have an insight so basic and simple that all the other candidates have overlooked it. This is the one defining position that distinguishes him from Ron Paul and all the other candidates who do talk about God but not in this Fundamental way. The resoration of our sovereignty is tied to a restoration of our Morality. The recognition that all our Rights come from the Creator. Paul and Keyes seem so close to each other on most of the issues except war on terror of course. This is the one insight Keyes has that calls into question my support for Paul. It is an idea that I can not get around. Is his assertion true? That we are endowed by our Creator with Unalienable Rights.
- groovsmyth, on 12/05/2007, -1/+12YES! It is unequivocally, most certainly, true!
- MavisJ, on 12/06/2007, -1/+6YES !!
This is what I"ve been trying to tell the Ron Paul supporters, Ron Paul's got good views, but he lacks the HEART of the constitution: GOD & GOD'S LOVE
Without love, works is just a clanging bell:

Love comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
~Timothy 1:5
I may be able to speak the languages of human beings and even of angels, but if I have no love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging bell. I may have the gift of inspired preaching; I may have all knowledge and understand all secrets; I may have the faith needed to move mountains-but if I have no love, I am nothing. I may give away everything I have, and even give up my body to be burned-but if I have no love, this does me no good.
~1 Corinthians 13:1-13- almonds646, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1yes, he lacks the heart to drive Christians out of their centuries-old neighborhoods in Iraq

O.K Then the question for me becomes while RP does not explicitly connect the dots as Keyes does, does he not have the same political stance. Both claim to be Constitutionalists which puts the debate over issues back where it belongs, namely does the constitution allow for whatever the candidate wants to do. Both want to abolish Income Tax and IRS, Yeah! because they see NO right of the government to tax profit or income from our labor. It is our personal possesion and does not belong to government accorcding to constitution.
I'm assuming that Keyes argument is Creator first, Inalienable Rights second, right to ownership free of taxaton third.
Paul would be Third, Second, First from the way he argues. but does that mean that he does not have the same personal conviction as Keyes ie. Creator, Inalienable Rights, Specific Right???- groovsmyth, on 12/06/2007, -1/+3Kent - When asked the difference, Keyes has replied, that like any concerned citizen, he evaluated the field to see whom he himself could support. Dr. Keyes felt that there was no one, including Dr. Paul, who was a true conservative - social or fiscal. Deductively, by your own example, you assert that prioritization flows Creator God > Unalienable Rights > specific right. Alan Keyes objectively looks at how our country was put together by the Founding Fathers and there's no doubt that their reasoning - the basis of the Constitution - was that these rights cannot be taken away by humankind because they do not emanate from humans. They are God-given. Humanism, Relativism, Atheism, even Nihilism may be in vogue, but those are not what our Republic is based on. One has to rewrite history in order to come to a different conclusion. That's why Keyes' campaign is called "America's Revival." Ron Paul has said that it should be up to the individual states to determine the right to life. That would be absurd if you believe the right to life is unalienable. Furthermore, in the PBS Republican debate when the two candidates compared their foreign policy stance (Keyes not only has Doctoral credentials on the Constitution, as Ambassador to the U.N. under Reagan, he is fully conversant in foreign policy), Keyes has the hands down Christian perspective of "who is my brother?" Dr. Paul clearly is Isolationist to the point he blatantly says that disputes around the world are none of our business. That goes beyond the accusations of the Democrats who accuse us of running roughshod over the world for our best interests. There is a preponderance of instances where the U.S. has committed resources and troops in an altruistic spirit. By far, most "humanitarian" aid and intervention is of this variety. Dr. Paul sounds like he is willing to shirk the responsibilities of our blessings. "To whom much is given, much is expected."
- MavisJ, on 12/06/2007, -1/+6I just love Alan Keys.
I'm voting for Huckabee, but I've been a long time supporter of Alan Keys. He's everything Ron Paul is but adds the main ingredient: LOVE and God FIRST.
(not faith in the constitution, faith in our Creator FIRST.)
- groovsmyth, on 12/06/2007, -0/+5.oO(my thoughts exactly) Many people say their hearts are with/for Alan, but through some calculating, strategizing secularly corrupted thinking, they put their faith on the back burner in order to pursue the "sophisticated" worldly way of *settling* The bar for political leaders will continue to be lowered if individuals do not have the courage to hold their elected officials to a higher standard. People who *SETTLE*, deserve what they get.
- Himself, on 12/07/2007, -0/+3If you have love then... John 6:27-69 will not cause you to walk away
- frepar, on 12/07/2007, -0/+1Alan is my man too.
- congresssucks, on 12/06/2007, -0/+8So why are you voting for Huck?
- groovsmyth, on 12/06/2007, -0/+5Mavis - If you "just love" Alan Keyes, then you should vote for Alan Keyes!
- TopherD, on 01/16/2008, -0/+0I like Alan Keys. He's a great guy. I love his views and stances. The biggest problem I have for him is that when he is on the debates, he does seem to comment a lot on the other candidates. My thing and I know this will get slack, Be like Mike, Huckabee is like able, Keyes is not when they appear on debates. I think for Keyes to be a serious candidate for the nomination he has to be like able. It's a sad fact, but he tends to come across very negative or opponent bashing in debates. I had some friends over for the debate he was on several weeks ago and they all had the same reaction. When i asked them what they thought about him, they said he seemed angry. And they asked who he was. Sadly the media, if they even talk about him is very negative towards him.
