The moral of this story? Never sling mud into the wind.- graeh, on 10/11/2008, -0/+5The moral of the story is - you completely assassinate your own character if you fail to put an equal amount of effort into behaving in line with the off the wall fringe religion you insist others behave in line with.
Time and time again - and I think plenty of other people have commented on it too - christians not only stumble at acting christian, but often go completely against it, and the amount they go against it seems to be linked to just how hard they believe.
Perhaps its self-deception - the assumption that if you believe you are the most hardline of the hardline, and push it on other people, you yourself must automatically be doing the right thing.
What - evas - as a pastors son, and having worked as a missionary - the most plain mean spirited, spite filled, dishonest and hypocritical people I can think of on reflection - were people closely involved in the church and its ministries. After having left that community - I can say I've been fortunate to find that somehow magically, there are less assholes in my every day life.
As long as you say you believe, you don't actually have to act like you believe - human brains are so retarded sometimes.

- lola29, on 10/11/2008, -1/+25We Americans are now all LIVING with the disaster that is two terms of the Bush administration's ethical and economical failures. McCain has supported Bush 90% of time. These people are shameful, reckless examples of "leadership".
We DEFINITELY NEED to CHANGE course.
Obama/Biden '08
Keep HOPE alive - freedomjoe, on 10/11/2008, -1/+21this is the "family values" ticket, people. They care about "life" so long as it isn't born yet and it's a human. All other forms of life, including live humans, you are on your own!
ETHICS- they do matter to some people. And most Americans picture our President as one of them. - sincerelysarah, on 10/11/2008, -1/+17If the pro-life stance wasn't on the ticket, these people would have nothing to stand on in their campaign... and far less supporters.
- lettruthout, on 10/11/2008, -3/+3Umm... isn't this issue one most often mentioned in support of Palin - that she kept her baby even though it tested positive for Downs Syndrome?
- charm803, on 10/12/2008, -1/+3The was the point of "sincerelysarah's" comment.
If abortion wasn't an issue, what else do they have?
Nothing, really.

- cattletracks, on 10/11/2008, -1/+8The news media need to get Palin's stance on Terri Schiavo. Though it probably won't surprise most of us, there are others out there that need to know her views on that, especially the older crowd that are facing end of life issues, themselves.

Obama/Biden 08! - kezia1, on 10/12/2008, -3/+6How are they not disqualified yet?!?!
*****.- R0am3r, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1What would make them disqualified? Can you support your opinion? If you really want something of substance, consider what will happen when convicted felon Tony Rezko starts talking. That will be interesting to everyone.
Please note - you post like a 3rd grader. Try to bring content to the discussion to avoid the label of retard.- agustawind, on 10/12/2008, -0/+1Rezco can talk all he wants. You still have to have records based on facts, not information from tabloid journalists. When all is said and done it's about having facts and the facts are Rezco would snitch on his own mother to save his own f#*n neck.
The republicans are going to turn on McCain and
push for a Palin presidency. They've never liked McCain and didn't want to feel completely disenfranchised with the voters so they had to support him.

- acrodev, on 10/12/2008, -4/+2I think the key word is "found". They're all dirty, it's just a matter of who has the shovel.
- mommacat, on 10/12/2008, -0/+8palin and mccain are both walking time bombs..
- legs1, on 10/12/2008, -0/+5 I hope this information makes it to all of the news outlets- ABC,NBC,CBS,CNN it is crucial info for the undecideds to hear.
- Bastet62, on 10/12/2008, -0/+6By their fruits ye shall know them. I think someone who Palin is imagining she pals around with said that once.
- kaysimons, on 10/12/2008, -0/+3I keep hearing 'pair of Mavericks' and that these two are birds of a feather.
Their campaign utters 'great minds think alike' - but I respond: 'fools seldom differ'. - rudyacuna, on 10/12/2008, -1/+0n my book, Corridors of Migration (U Arizona), I recount a 1933 California farm strike in which the grower community shot down three Mexican strikers, intentionally starving nine infants and wounding scores of others. In justifying the hysteria Wofford B. Camp blamed it on the communist organizers, about a dozen out of 18,000 Mexican workers, saying they were "people who don't love America like I do." The "good Americans" had converted the word Communist to Mexicans to unAmericans, the same way that the Good American Saraha Palin and the Good American John McCain have made Obama unAmerican, a euphemism for black. Creating a mob mentality does not happen by accident. And there are different ways of saying spic or the "N" word.
