McCain does nothing as crowd member calls Obama a terrorist
americablog.com — McCain was speaking today in New Mexico, doing his usual personal attack on Barack Obama, as the stock market plummeted, and McCain asked the crowd "who is Barack Obama?" Immediately you hear someone yell "terrorist." McCain says nothing.

This is pretty lame don't you think?
Someone, in the audience mind you, yells out something in response to a question asked in a speech and you're UPSET because John McCain allowed this American Citizen to exercise his Right of Free Speech? Well that certainly won't be happening once BARACK the SOCIALIST takes over, now will it?
Barack Hussein Obama already has his Truth Squads running hither and yon to silence Free Speech in the USA.
Do you seriously think it will be better if this empty suit Daley Chicago machine politician with absolutely NO executive experience of ANY kind who's a Leftist Liberal and a SOCIALIST is elected president of the world's greatest super power?
Of Course Not!
......BETTER AN IMPERFECT REPUBLICAN,
..........THAN A PERFECT SOCIALIST!
........VOTE McCain / Palin 2008.......- TheDeuce53, on 10/07/2008, -1/+5Well, McCain did say he was gonna run a clean campaign.. I would think he could have at least won some political points and called the man out. If you think Barack Obama is a terrorist then we have nothing further to discuss... you simply cannot be reasoned with.
I bet you thought Bush was an "imperfect republican" too...
You say we won't have free speech under Barack, yet Bush and McCain passed the Patriot Act... and you want to talk about losing civil rights? Socialist? Bush is the one who came up with the bailout plan... and guess who else not only supported it, but suspended his campaign to make sure it passed (and even failed at that)? JOHN MCCAIN.
Last I checked, McCain doesn't have "executive" experience either. We aren't asking for John McCain to have this man arrested, but McCain is a citizen, and can also stand up for his country. I would expect Barack Obama to correct any one of his supporters calling John McCain a terrorist or something similar. But I am not surprised to see that you are willing to try to win this election by any means necessary.
But hey, what do I know... I'm just a joe six-pack like Sarah Palin *wink* - Kizilbash, on 10/07/2008, -2/+6Obama is a center right politician, not a social democrat and certainly not a socialist. You wouldn't know a socialist if one kicked you in the balls.
- piper999, on 10/07/2008, -1/+1He doesn't have any balls and doesn't know what the ***** he talking about.
- scoetrain, on 10/07/2008, -0/+2Abraham Lincoln-- no executive experience

- IrishJoe, on 10/06/2008, -2/+20McCain did nothing? What are you talking about? He gave the man the $20 he promised him.
- fishskicanoe, on 10/06/2008, -1/+11McCain could have told the guy to calm down. Instead he allowed the comment to pass. Everyone knows that there are people out there unstable enough to attempt an assassination on Obama. Its up to the McCain camp to make sure he isn't seen as inciting such behavior.
- pennsykid2000, on 10/07/2008, -0/+1McCain did the same thing when a woman at a primary gathering said, "How do we beat the Bitch [meaning Hillary Clinton]?" So, McCain clearly accepts these outrageous statements, showing how classless he is.
- piper999, on 10/07/2008, -0/+1They already played the racist card by claiming Obama is 'not like the rest of us' and now they get to sit back and watch their knuckle dragging racist supporters do the dirty work on the ground for them.
It's going to end very badly.
- chlai88, on 10/07/2008, -1/+6The man & the Republican party os playing with fire. What difference are they from the terrorists they have sworn to stop ? They are fanning the flames of doubt, hate and terror in people so they can be manipulated. Classic Bush doctrine. The danger is that you can create just that kind of extremist feelings in some wackos that they no longer feel wrong to "do something" about it. Classic terrorism 101. Look how similar the Bush doctrine and terrorism is.
- snowrail, on 10/07/2008, -2/+3At the same talk, McCain said, "You need to know who you're putting in the White House — where the candidate came from and what he or she believes... Who is the real Sen. Obama? ... Why has Sen. Obama refused to disclose the names of people funding his campaign? His campaign had to return $33,000 in illegal foreign funds from Palestinian donors."
...And so on...
He's 100% playing the meme that Obama is a terrorist/Muslim. It's no surprise that the response of the audience is that he's a terrorist, especially with the Ayers pro-terrorism charges and the anti-troop charges being played as well. McCain's strategy is not just fear, but to get him assassinated by some ill-informed "patriot" who thinks he's saving America. - pennsykid2000, on 10/07/2008, -0/+4HuffPost: “But what about McCain's own associations with former 60's radicals? Indeed, until just a few years ago, McCain openly boasted not only about his passing friendship but also his deep collaboration with one of the most prominent of Vietnam-era student radicals, David Ifshin. The same David Ifshin who denounced America on Radio Hanoi as McCain sat locked up as a POW.”
As usual, McCain is oblivious to how his smears will come back to haunt him. - EcadSGO, on 10/07/2008, -0/+1If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and hangs out and sits on committees, and has his career launched in his living room......
- SethEllis, on 10/07/2008, -0/+1This is silly. The best thing for any candidate to do in a situation like this is to ignore it. If he actually responded to the question that would just give journalists an excuse to talk about it even more. So now you're going to blast McCain for making smart campaign decisions?
