Michigan GOP leader wants Paul barred from future debates

mlive.com — The chairman of the Michigan Republican Party said Wednesday that he will try to bar Ron Paul from future GOP presidential debates because of remarks the Texas congressman made that suggested the Sept. 11 attacks were the fault of U.S. foreign policy.

  • plutorobot, on 10/11/2007, -5/+29The truth irony of all this is, while Paul has such a small chance of winning the primary, he is the only Republican candidate who could possibly win the actual election. As the neocon leaders of the party continue to try to deny the failures and mistakes of the current administration, the greater whole of the public turned on Bush and his absurd war. Well I am voting for Ron Paul through thick or thin because he really is the only candidate on in either party worth voting for, but I won't be overly surprised to be seeing the giant smile of Obama or yet another Clinton in the the Oval office by the end of the 2008 election.

Ron Paul IS the only possible GOP candidate that can defeat the Democrats... pretty much any one of them would crush any of the GOP warmongers. By general election time, with more dead soldiers and even more anti-war sentiment, this will be an even stronger case. There's really just enough time to embrace Paul and hope for the best... but the idiots are running in the opposite direction. Maybe 'they' hate us for our stupidity.

      Election fraud. You know it happened (ohio etc) how pandemic was it ? How can you ensure your vote was counted correctly and there were no 'accidents' ?

      There are over 10 million ILLEGAL immigrants in America right now, I'm pretty sure the terrorists can get in if they want to. The whole idea of fighting them over there is ridiculous. We would be much better off using the resources to secure our borders.

      Personally, I'm convinced that the so called Islamo-fascist threat is purposely overblown by special interest groups that benefit from keeping us in the middle east.

  • Nitroadict, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4This reminds me of a pic I once saw comparing the Democrats & Republicans (i can't find the url anoyyingly), both represented by the extreme forms each side represents (however watered down): Democrats being Communism (left), and Republicans being Facism (right). That isn't to say centrism is any type of middle ground, unless you want stalemate (more of the same) politics; it's about time politics talk about going up or down instead of left or right when it comes to political progress. I just find it all funnier as each day goes by; hopefully Ron Paul will make a difference.

    Giuliani is a known cross dressing multi-millionaire. I believe his income is arounbd 17 million a year at this point in light of his recent, limited, releases on his financial resources.

Why aren't we turning factories into arms suppliers and why haven't we instituted a draft? Either the threat is real or this is about Bush saving face. If Bush cherishes freedom in Iraq so damn much, why doesn't he move the Whitehouse to the Iraq embassy and direct the war from first hand knowledge? He ducked Vietnam, the least he could do for his country is show some real commitment instead of weasely chickenhawk character.
