Mike Sues to Stop Pro-Clinton 527 Group
gravel2008.us — Today Senator Mike Gravel filed a federal lawsuit against a pro-Hillary 527 political organization, which is running a YouTube ad that, if aired on TV, flagrantly violates the law. The Senator has asked the court to slap a temporary restraining order on this 527 to prevent it from breaking the law with this commercial. This 527 has failed to

- LosAngelesAG, on 02/27/2008, -1/+13Right On, Senator !!!
Hillary is an Absolute FRAUD !!- mempko, on 02/28/2008, -4/+1You mean, right on President ;-)
- Tex, on 07/28/2008, -0/+28I know the media enjoys casting him as a "crazy grandpa," but Mike Gravel is a principled American hero who deserves respect.
- antiorblkflag9, on 02/27/2008, -0/+9Here is the ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMVbE8Q7FOw
- minoss, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1How is this that much different from any other half truth filled attack ad?
- jstohler, on 02/28/2008, -1/+1Minoss is right -- even if you don't like the concept of 527s, there's nothing illegal about this ad. It doesn't mention Hillary's campaign, doesn't encourage people to vote for her, doesn't mention Obama. It's a standard 527 ad. Digg me down if you must, but it's the truth.
- dbonzo, on 02/27/2008, -0/+17Let's get this guy back in the debates.
- mempko, on 02/28/2008, -0/+1Right on friend!
- aliengoods, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2Let's be done with the debates. If you don't know where the candidates stand on which issues by now they either haven't said (i.e. war on drugs) or they won't say. Look on the web at their sites. But after I've sat through about half of the 20 debates I can safely say I don't want any more until the ones for the general election, and those are normally quite lame and scripted.
- DebbieKat, on 02/28/2008, -2/+6Gravel is truly the best candidate running on the Democratic side. I think it's abominable how the media has been ignoring him and how many don't even know who he is or that he's running. It's possible that Gravel will join forces with Nader. That might be interesting if it happens.
- kyeot, on 02/28/2008, -1/+3I still thought you should of sued Hillary and Edwards for there comments after the NAACP debate for obstructing your rights as liberty and the persuit of happiness by having you excluded from the debates.
- ADVIZR, on 02/28/2008, -0/+13I supported Gravel ever since I read up on him after the first Dem. debate. He's the first candidate to whom I've ever donated money. I wanted America to wake up to him. Alas, he's ahead of his time and didn't have enough funds and campaign organization to breakthrough the media wall.
I'm very happy with my support of Obama now but I'll never stop supporting Gravel as well.
Gravel is an American patriot, freedom fighter, maverick politician for the people, and 'world citizen' all wrapped into one. He always fights for what's right. Gravel will forever be -- to me and countless others -- a true hero. - LeeSoong, on 02/28/2008, -14/+2Mike's a whining little you know what.
YouTube is NOT broadcast TV - Hillary's group should move for summary dismissal of the case on that alone.
Hey mikey, iTunes vulgarity laden rap and rock music spews hate speech and obscenities, why don't you try shutting down iTunes for violating --Radio-- laws too!
Gavel = Tool.- mempko, on 02/28/2008, -0/+8They want to put it on TV, thats the problem. You = Fail
- aliengoods, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2Also the law reads "distributing ads". Certainly YouTube is a distribution medium.
- LeeSoong, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3You have to call it up in YouTube - it wont pop up like an advertisement.
so to see it, you have to request it - I don't see how that equals putting it on TV
- LeeSoong, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3You have to call it up in YouTube - it wont pop up like an advertisement.

- elijahsnw, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2this is the only post i've ever felt the need to face palm.... fail indeed
also.. i've never understood the "Whining" criticism... isn't that what we pay these people to do as our representatives? When people worry more about whining than issues it reallly concerns me... which is why these hillarites concern me too with all their talk of whining... - myxodextoxmaybe, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3Um. Wow. This ad is already on TV. http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/02/2 ...
A gavel IS a tool (as you so carelessly, or stupidly purposefully misspelled), but Mike Gravel is far from a tool. You, sir, are the real tool here. Mr. Gravel is not 'whining'; he knows he has no shot at the nomination. He is just doing what is right and keeping this 527 from breaking campaign law. Whining would be just complaining about it; he is actively doing a service to the American people by trying to enforce the justified laws that govern our great country. You lose.- truthmatters, on 03/04/2008, -0/+1Well said myxo. Mike Gravel is a true American patriot who's protecting the integrity of our democracy.

- AtHomeBoy2000, on 02/28/2008, -0/+2hhmm.... seems to have mysteriously disappeared from YouTube.
Interesting....- AtHomeBoy2000, on 02/28/2008, -0/+3oops. correction, I didnt realize that Flash wasnt installed in Firefox.
- N3tw0rk, on 02/28/2008, -0/+8I'm glad to see a true American patriot like Gravel bringing attention to this important matter. Hopefully the MSM will run with this story, and only further alienate Clinton from her voters with her swift-boat tactics.
- freedomwv, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1When I clicked on the link it took me to the gravel 08 page and said that I has been denied access to the content. WTF!
