Obama tards cant add. More democrats would vote for Mccain if Obama wins the primary.
They dont want Florida or Michigan voters to vote, because they would vote for Hillary in a landslide.
They dont want to admit that more republicans would come out of the woodwork to vote against Obama because he's prooven that he has a double standad when it comes to black racism.

And I don't want to hear any of the DEMs bitching when all the Super Duper Delegates vote for Hillary. I guess you guys like that electoral college after all? - StarlessKnight, on 04/07/2008, -0/+5"They dont want Florida or Michigan voters to vote, because they would vote for Hillary in a landslide."
BZZT. Incorrect. The correct answer is: they knowingly violated the rules despite being told what the consequences would be.
Inquiry: What's this about "personal responsibility" again? Something about.. owning up to your own actions? Something like.. what the Florida and Michigan legislature/political parties should do?
Statement: Dear residents of Florida and Michigan, please vote out those responsible for your lack of participation in this primary. Fortunately, they have not removed your voice for the November National Election. Please get out and vote then for which ever candidate is more aligned with your personal beliefs. Thank you.- theaceoffire, on 04/07/2008, -1/+3But you don't understand, she is LOSING now, we wanna add them back in!

- JOHND777, on 04/07/2008, -6/+15Does it really matter? On the other hand. Hillary is in some kind of make believe fantasy world. She is like a child who makes up things, believes them, and uses them to get attention and praise!- lgm1213, on 04/07/2008, -10/+1Inspirational, seriously his speeches have not really been all that "inspiring". He hasn't said anything that really is worth mention. His race speech In my opinion lacked definitive substance, all he really said was his grandmother was white and rev wright was alive during the civil right era. Before that his speeches went on for 40 minutes of fluff. Before that SC all he did was toot his own horn. And before that he talked about how he was a Christian. I mean really if people where to look at his speeches with a Critical eye and look beyond the media hype we find a void. and besides that when he speaks he sounds like Dwayne "the Rock Johnson.
- artliquide, on 04/07/2008, -0/+11Yes. When all you watch are videos of his responses to attacks from the Hillary camp, his speeches lack substance, and that is because the attacks are unsubstantiated. I was undecided about who to support in Feb, until I went to a local Obama rally. I went in with a skeptical mind, figuring that the speaking would be all political fluff. I had already decided in my mind that if Obama didn't address specific issues at the rally, that I would keep looking at all candidates, because that would make him no different from any other professional politician. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Obama actually answered all of the questions I had about specific issues. It wasn't just a pretty speech. He gave specific details about his plans for education, healthcare, the military, government practices, and other issues I care deeply about. I left that rally as an intense Obama supporter, not because I was inspired by promises of hopes and dreams fulfilled, but because I was excited that I finally had a candidate that I really felt that I could support 100%, someone who cares about grass roots politics (I was very much in favor of more focus on grass roots movements before I had ever heard of Obama), who cares about "the little guy" and isn't just saying that. He has demonstrated over and over that he is a politician with substance. Instead of hosting fundraising dinners for the elite like most other candidates do, he relies, for the most part, on small contributions from regular folk. As a "thank you" to these regular folk, his campaign had a sort of raffle for someone to attend a dinner with him, a chance that no regular person would ever have with Hillary or McCain.
So, as someone who didn't just jump on the bandwagon, who cares about politicians with substance, I support Obama for exactly that reason. You can regurgitate the hype from the other side, but that doesn't change reality: that there are many of us who have been waiting for a politician like him for a very long time, and many of us feel that we've been burned over and over throughout the years, so we're cynical and skeptical, yet, here we are supporting the guy who gets so much flak and keeps chugging because he's right, and that's why he's ahead.- theaceoffire, on 04/07/2008, -0/+11) I agree with almost everything you said. - HellDonut, on 04/07/2008, -4/+38This argument never made any sense. Clinton isn't one percent behind.
- MSF2, on 04/07/2008, -1/+15Exactly, the latest polls show him closing in on a double-digit lead. At this point in the election, any Clinton supporter saying she can still win is lying to themselves. And for the good of the Democratic party, they should stand up against Bush 2.0 and with Obama.
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/pol ...- ncairns, on 04/07/2008, -1/+16I think he's talking about the popular vote (where she's 2.7% behind) and ignoring both the delegate count (where she's 7% behind) and the fact that it's mathematically impossible for her to win the nomination without stealing it with superdelegates.
- PopcornDave, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1She really should step aside not so much for the good of the party but the good of the country. If she continues down this road she really risks splintering the Democratic party. While most conservatives would think this is a good thing, the Republicans themselves stand a good chance of being splintered with McCain as well. What we don't need to happen is get a bunch of independent parties and end up with a political system that requires coalitions to do anything.
Granted, the two party system stinks, but this isn't the way to bring new blood in to the political mix. - lgm1213, on 04/07/2008, -6/+1shes only behind on popular vote by about 700k, that in comparison to the number of voters there are is such a trivial number. In this country alone there are 303 million people. I don't know how many registered voters, but the lead is really trivial. Asking her to step aside I think really circumvents the democratic process.
- ncairns, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1That does very little to confront the mathematical truth that the only way for her to take the nomination is through the superdelegates. It is statistically impossible for her to overtake him, or even substantively close his lead, in the popular vote. What would circumvent the Democratic process would be her trying to poach his pledged delegates - which her campaign intends to do - or taking the nomination from superdelegates in a trump of the public's will.

- LoneRanger85, on 04/07/2008, -38/+7Sooo, you're willing to vote for someone because you like the way he talks. God save us all. You want to see something creepy? Read Obama's book. But, regardless of who is elected, I'm going to have fun seeing how the conversations here change.
- ncairns, on 04/07/2008, -5/+31Oh yes, let's ignore his Ivy Leage magna cum laude education, the decade he spent lecturing on Constiutional law, the time he spent as an advocate for Chicago's lower class and his history of expanding government transparency and ethics reform in the Illinois Senate. I mean, the last lawyer from Illinois with only a few years of political experience at the national level who became president was... oh yeah.
Lincoln.- lgm1213, on 04/07/2008, -10/+1So, If I were to be born in Virginia, would that make me equal to George Washington, Or I was born in Massachusetts, would that make me like JFK.
Ok, Obama's education is great. BUT so is everyone else who runs for President. Hillary went to Yale, was published in scholarly journals, worked for New Haven hospital, and worked for free at New Haven Legal Services all before graduating with her JD and was featured in Life Magazine before finishing her undergrad.
Im not saying that Obama is bad, but his education is nothing to brag about. And being a lecture is not a prestigious position, its like a temp professor who can't get the department to allow him to become faculty.- qwerter, on 04/07/2008, -0/+4Good points. And when among all that was she fired from the Watergate investigation for her unethical behavior?
- lgm1213, on 04/07/2008, -3/+1you mean, the guy who claimed Eleanor Roosevelt came to him in a dream so he could interview her and say she was Pro Obama yeah that guy is credible source. We have a word for that were I come from, its called crazy
- qwerter, on 04/07/2008, -1/+1Nice try, but he was making fun of the fact that Hillary has told the press that while in the White House she often “talked with” Eleanor Roosevelt.
Did you even read the article you're talking about? - lgm1213, on 04/07/2008, -3/+1yes I did, Did you go http://www.jzeifman.com/. Its the guys website. and Guess what. He's selling a book on Hillary, a convenient time to sell a book anti Hillary. My question is if this is so ground breaking why now? Why would he come out with this claim now, instead of /when she ran for senate or was 1st lady. Because he wants to make money and capitalize on the "anti-Hillary" campagin. Ill do you a favor here is the direct quote from his article where he talked with Eleanor from his website
1/29/2008
ELEANOR ROOSEVELT DENOUNCES HILLARY ENDORSES OBAMA
Last night as I dosed off I recalled that Hillary Clinton has told the press that
while in the White House she often “talked with” Eleanor Roosevelt --
whom I had known and worked with in support of John Kennedy in 1960.
Later, Mrs. Roosevelt came to me in a dream -- and I questioned her
regarding the current presidential campaigns. Here’s how the “interview”
went.
JZ: What are the most critical issues in the Presidential primaries -- and for which
Democratic candidate would you vote ?
ER: It seems to me that this may be the most critical campaign since President Lincoln
warned that a “House divided cannot stand” and resolved to use federal troops to
save our Democracy.
Today we are engaged in two wars. One is against Islamic terrorism from abroad. The
other is a culture war at home that was incited in part by Hillary Clinton, who branded
her critics as engaged in “vast right wing conspiracy.” As a result I am
tempted to urge Democrats to vote for “Anyone but Hillary!” If she wins the
nomination I would vote for a conservative Republican. But politics is “the
art of the possible” — and I would urge our party to unite behind Senator
Obama.
JZ: Why Senator Obama?
ER: As you will recall, in 1960 you and I originally campaigned for Adlai
Stevenson, whom we considered the most experienced. But in the end
supported to young Jack Kennedy, who was more charismatic. As
Democratic pollster Peter Hart recently noted, Obama’s supporters say that
as president he “would be inspirational, motivating, charismatic, and
compassionate.” After praising Clinton's experience and intelligence, they
say she “would be demanding, difficult, maybe even a little scary.” - qwerter, on 04/07/2008, -1/+2Yeah, that's what I read, too. Completely nullifies your claim of him being crazy, since the premise about Eleanor coming to him in the dream is a satirical literary conceit.
As far as the book is concerned, it's called "Hillary's Pursuit of Power." My guess is that it's about Hillary's pursuit of power. It's therefore relevant at a time when Hillary is pursuing power...by running for president.
- ncairns, on 04/07/2008, -0/+5"So, If I were to be born in Virginia, would that make me equal to George Washington, Or I was born in Massachusetts, would that make me like JFK."
The number one thing people criticize Obama for his is lack of experience at the national level. Abraham Lincoln only had two years experience as a Congressman before winning the presidency. That fact, given that he's generally regarded as one of the nation's greatest presidents, discredits the claim that you need decades of service in Washington under your belt before you can fit the office. That's the point.
"Ok, Obama's education is great. BUT so is everyone else who runs for President. Hillary went to Yale, was published in scholarly journals, worked for New Haven hospital, and worked for free at New Haven Legal Services all before graduating with her JD and was featured in Life Magazine before finishing her undergrad."
I wasn't just talking about his education. The combined income for Obama and his wife was listed as just shy of $1,000,000 on their 2007 tax return, and that's *with* his earnings from book sales - as early as 2002 they were making under $300,000 a year. Sounds like a lot, but not so much when you consider that they both could have found positions with seven-figure salaries right out of law school. Instead they chose public advocacy and less prestigious positions, while Hillary Clinton served on the board at Wal-Mart.
"And being a lecture is not a prestigious position, its like a temp professor who can't get the department to allow him to become faculty."
This was while he was also in the Illinois State Senate. The University of Chicago offered him full professorship on multiple occasions, but he declined, and according to the university he was always considered a professor.
- qwerter, on 04/07/2008, -0/+4Good points. And when among all that was she fired from the Watergate investigation for her unethical behavior?

I do like the way he talks, but more importantly, I like what he says, as opposed to HIllary and her sniper lies. On to McCain in the General Election. Aaaaaaaaand how dare you invoke the name of the invisible man! I'll break out one FSM to counter your childish belief system. - sarhiley, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Yeah, all the stuff in his book about not accepting money from lobbyists, about working with republicans to actually get legislature passed, and getting dijoun mustard at chain restaurants is really scary stuff. Creepy man, creepy.
- Tanishh, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Granted I'm only 1/4 of the way through it or so but so far all he's talked about in his book is some of his earlier experiences in politics, why people don't often work together, why the parties need to work together to get things done, etc. How is that creepy?
- ncairns, on 04/07/2008, -5/+31Oh yes, let's ignore his Ivy Leage magna cum laude education, the decade he spent lecturing on Constiutional law, the time he spent as an advocate for Chicago's lower class and his history of expanding government transparency and ethics reform in the Illinois Senate. - whatthefu, on 04/07/2008, -7/+13I just want to see one pro-Hillary article hit the front page, just once, because I want to know if the universe would implode as a result.
- fuzzmeister, on 04/07/2008, -1/+11If the universe does implode, it's all your fault. No pressure or anything though.
- Awspire, on 04/07/2008, -11/+2It's possible. First, you need to divert the Obamians by submitting a barrage of negative Obama stories. While their busy burying all those stories, slip in a pro Hillary story, but the submission title has to be under the guise of Anti-Hillary, but cleverly done, so when read, it can easily be interpreted as Pro-Hillary.

"The U.S. Federal government stopped issuing the well-known 30-year Treasury bonds (often called long-bonds) on October 31, 2001. As the U.S. government used its budget surpluses to pay down the Federal debt in the late 1990s, the 10-year Treasury note began to replace the 30-year Treasury bond as the general, most-followed metric of the U.S. bond market. However, due to demand from pension funds and large, long-term institutional investors, along with a need to diversify the Treasury's liabilities - and also because the flatter yield curve meant that the opportunity cost of selling long-dated debt had dropped - the 30-year Treasury bond was re-introduced in February 2006 and is now issued quarterly. This will bring the U.S. in line with Japan and European governments issuing longer-dated maturities amid growing global demand from pension funds. Some countries, including France and the United Kingdom, have begun offering a 50-year bond, known as a Methuselah."

or just google "Treasury Bond" and it will display the official T-Bond website which confirms this.

- xrant, on 04/07/2008, -2/+4Politics isn't religion, it's more... Think about it for a second, the wrong person in power can change the face of the nation. The wrong person in power can start wars, can have thousands of innocent lives destroyed because of a hidden agenda. The wrong person in power... can do a lot more than the wrong Pope or the wrong Pastor. When Bill Clinton was in office, he left the country with a positive economic surplus, he passed on the reigns to George Bush Sr. and the downfall of mankind started, then with two terms of George W, the US is on the brink of a economic catastrophe.

- ecarver530, on 04/07/2008, -15/+3funny! because if you look at the state-by-state polls, Clinton is the one who has far more of a chance than Obama in the general election. She's the one who will win the most electoral votes against McCain.
But the Democratic Party is more concerned with their white guilt and gullibility to realize this.- zephyear, on 04/07/2008, -1/+15gallup polling (pretty much the only reliable national level polling) has put obama and mccain constantly at a statistical tie, with clinton doing slightly worse. and this is while obama is trying to brush hillary off before focusing on mccain.
so uh, you're full of *****.- ecarver530, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Gallup polling predicted an Obama landslide in New Hampshire. furthermore, the states that the Dems need to win in November: Ohio, Florida, and Michigan, are HILLARY STATES. I am not full of *****, you just don't know how to read. I said STATE-BY-STATE, not national polling.
- zephyear, on 04/07/2008, -2/+11oh and i see you buy into hillary's "big state" and "decide based on electoral votes" myths.
if anything we should be going to obama because he wins SMALL states in the south and midwest, the majority of which tend to go republican. he does better in these states than her and has a better chance of taking them from the republicans, "big states" like california, new york, illinois don't matter because THEY WILL GO TO A DEMOCRAT REGARDLESS. OF THE NOMINEE.- ecarver530, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1I'm not arguing about any of those states. But Ohio, Florida, and Michigan will not, which are what the Dem needs to get enough votes. These states could easily go McCain, and will if Obama is nominated.
- deskimo, on 04/07/2008, -1/+8This is pure crap peddled by the Clintons who can't face their own loss and are opting instead to essentially endorse McCain over Obama. Obama will win every blue state from 2004. He will win a different set of swing states that were in play for Kerry: New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Missouri, Wisconsin. Probably not Ohio or Florida.
- ecarver530, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1There is NO WAY Virginia, Missouri, or Wisconsin will go to Obama. Those are textbook McCain states. And McCain will definitely get Ohio and Florida.
- deskimo, on 04/15/2008, -0/+0I dont know if you've been paying attention to say, the last 10 years of politics, but you are wrong. Virginia is now in play. It has a Democratic governor and after 2008 will have two Democratic Senators. It has had a major influx of minorities and educated white people more likely to vote Democratic (particularly Obama) in future elections. The blue is creeping into the South via Virginia. Wisconsin went blue in the last election and they will be solidly blue this election. New Mexico is governed by Bill Richardson, Obama's possible running mate, who also endorsed Obama. It has nearly gone blue in the last election and will likely turn blue this election. Obama can and will win all of these states.
So are you of the persuasion that by simply saying something you make it true?

- cranium, on 04/07/2008, -1/+1See, this is what I don't like about the Clintonistas. They're either too stupid to see right through that "electoral votes" myth (you can't apply primary results to a general election - they are apples and oranges) or they see it and propagate the spin being just as much a liar as she is.
- ecarver530, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1I'm not applying primary results, I'm applying electorate trends and current poll snapshots. You Obamamaniacs are idiots that have been fooled by a very good speaker. I pity you guys that are unable to think for yourselves.
- cranium, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1That's not spin to you? That you want the superdelegates to ignore *actual* primary results and just go with what the polls say in the states that Hillary cherry-picks for consideration? Then why have a primary at all?
- ecarver530, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1I'm not applying primary results, I'm applying electorate trends and current poll snapshots. You Obamamaniacs are idiots that have been fooled by a very good speaker. I pity you guys that are unable to think for yourselves.

- deskimo, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2Digg doesn't have an obligation to give equal-time that a mainstream media organization has. Why would you think it does? Digg is for the users, by the users. If you see Obama bias, it's because digg users dugg it up, because they support Obama. f you want a site which has a mission to serve both sides of the poltiical spectrum, go to Politico. Digg is not that kind of site and has never billed itself to be. There's no conspiracy going on here. But on Fox News, there is.

- Leifdawg, on 04/07/2008, -0/+2I bet most people didn't even read this article, and just glorified it for its title, which unfortunately happens too much on Digg. - Treymal, on 04/07/2008, -0/+0We're so far from the election that I'm afraid this Obama support will falter sooner rather than later. Reading many Digg submissions, I can see the push-back increasing daily. As an Obama supporter, I'd like to see submissions in relation to Barack discussing his policies, experience and statements that help define the man.

- dt64852, on 04/08/2008, -0/+0Your thesis seems to be that one should shift to Obama to show our objection to race entering the campaign. I think this is flawed in several ways:
1) We need to elect based on the positive qualities that the candidate will bring to the office.
2) Race will enter this race. Be realistic. Each voter must confront and deal with it. Hopefully we will emerge dealing with it rationally.
3) Mr. Obama can take care of himself. He does not need people to vote for him because he is black. He will win on his merits as the best candidate. It was Geraldine Ferraro's thesis that he was winning because he is black. - MindyB, on 04/09/2008, -0/+1Tripp Jones is a very gracious person and should be applauded for this incredibly beautiful article calling for Democrats to unite and reminding us all what matters in this election-that we elect the best choice for the Presidency. What a refreshing change from most other articles that only spew venom.
