NYT Hot On the Trail: Palin Pressed for Trooper’s REMOVAL
nytimes.com — Ms. Palin has denied that anyone told Mr. Monegan to dismiss Mr. Wooten, or that the commissioner ’s ouster had anything to do with the trooper. But an examination of the case, based on interviews with Mr. Monegan and several top aides, indicates that, to a far greater degree than was previously known, the governor, her husband and...

Don't sweat it your english.
His point wasn't about your english anyway, he just couldn't refute the article and used the typical Republican tactic of trying to derail the discussion.
Notice his total failure to refute your comment.

- filolif, on 10/10/2008, -1/+9Do we really want another administration with absolute disdain for the rule of law?
- thebradmiskell, on 10/10/2008, -0/+6OMGWTF! Where does one acquire the rights? This kind of soap-adrama could've kept Northern Exposure shooting for a couple more years. With David Lynch directing!
- enantiodromia, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2you mean Twin Peaks?
- poprocksandsoda, on 10/10/2008, -9/+1Everyone here does realize that the NYT has zero journalistic credibility right? You do know this is the same bastion of propoganda that brought us Jayson Blair?
Anyway, I wouldn't waste too much energy on "troopergate". Now that Obama has tried to broker a backroom deal that may have put our troops safety in jeopardy, I think you guys have lots of more important things to deal with.

Like sedition or treason.- zephyear, on 10/10/2008, -1/+5you're a ***** moron, saying the NYtimes has zero credibility then posting a piece of ***** no one take seriously like the washingtontimes
- poprocksandsoda, on 10/10/2008, -4/+1Zephyear, every single reporter with a desire for a name is chasing down this story to prove or disprove it. This is the calm before the storm in Watergate. Pay attention because all these little falacies like Troopergate are going to be the good old days. It's about to get real interesting.
- IphtashuFitz, on 10/10/2008, -0/+5The Washington Times was founded by, and is still owned and operated by, the Reverend Sun Myung Moon and his Moonie followers. Sorry, but I'll take a prestigious newspaper like the New York Times over a rag printed by a cult leader and his followers any day of the week.

"Hey guys, don't listen to the NYT! Listen to this moronic crap that supports my right wing extremist ignorance".
Uh, WHAT is the point of that article?
That Obama understands diplomacy? We already knew that.
Or are you trying some idiotic rightard crap where you try to imply that talking out problems is somehow less acceptable than murdering those that disagree with us?
Either way, a miserable fail, as usual.
It's sad how the rightards can't stay on topic and think unrelated article somehow prove their point.
Are you huffing?
Why else would you be unable to keep track of the subject.
Unless you have something to defend Palin's abuse of power, you are just wasting everyone's time.
I guess that's the plan, right?
Derail all REAL discussion until after the election?
Do you feel pride in trying to fool American's into voting for McCain?
Seems dishonest and dishonorable to me. - DelcoCait, on 10/10/2008, -0/+1Seriously? You're pushing that tired story, that was debunked by everyone who was actually in attendence, including republicans, AND the White House.
The F-ing White House came out and said that never happened, that the discussion was taken out of context. (In reality Obama was saying he wasn't trying interfere with our current leaderships agenda even though he disagrees with it.)
But you know what...they're probably in the tank for Obama too right?

- IphtashuFitz, on 10/10/2008, -1/+5This article is an EXCELLENT summary of all the details behind "Troopergate". Even if you think you know all there is to know about it, I suggest you read it. I'd already done a fair amount of research so I could respond to arguments about it but this article put it in much better perspective and added a few details I was unaware of.
- btschul, on 10/10/2008, -6/+2So........she tried to fire a state trooper who tazered his 11 year old son with his police issue tazer? Wow, what a bitch.
- IphtashuFitz, on 10/10/2008, -2/+5It's obvious you either don't know, or don't care about the details of the whole Troopergate issue. Idiot.
- anonblog2008, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2Looks like the Palin's actions have back-"fired"...(pun intended).
Sarah Palin has demonstrated over and over that she uses strong-arm tactics and abuses her authority. Her first order of business as the new mayor of Wasilla was to fire all four of the town's department heads as a "loyalty test" to gain support for her majesty. This is very telling of her "executive" management style, that I know I wouldn't want to see from my city's mayor (or Vice President). I'm sure that Washington will be receptive to her style, and show her the door.
We need leaders that work well with others through inspiration and admiration, and not a self-proclaimed duo of "mavericks" that use hostile threats and act like children to "shake things up". - Airforcefalco, on 10/10/2008, -1/+1So did Palin push for the firing or did someone push Palin to fire em?
The title is a little unclear.- ssn697, on 10/10/2008, -1/+1Because reading the article is too much to ask?
- ssn697, on 10/10/2008, -0/+2"In all, the commissioner and his aides were contacted about Trooper Wooten three dozen times over 19 months by the governor, her husband and seven administration officials, interviews and documents show.
“To all of us, it was a campaign to get rid of him as a trooper and, at the very least, to smear the guy and give him a desk job somewhere,” said Kim Peterson, Mr. Monegan’s special assistant, who like several other aides spoke publicly about the matter for the first time. "
She was just bein' friendly, dontcha know!
