Obama Laughs off Palin’s National Security Experience
politicususa.com — During his interview on ABC ’s This Week program this morning, Obama laughed off the idea that Sarah Palin has more national security experience than he does. He also took the Republicans to task for mocking his time as a community organizer. “I actually knew that Russia was next to Alaska as well. I saw it on a map,” Obama said.

Palin was a nice publicity stunt, but she isn’t going to save the Republican Party. The fact that many Republicans are counting on her to do exactly this demonstrates their desperation."
I wholeheartedly agree!- QuadZeroRoute, on 09/08/2008, -3/+1Obama had a very full weekend:
Obama FLIP FLOPPED on the tax cuts that he promised. There will be no tax cuts at this time given the economy.

And he admitted to being a Muslim.
"Let's not play games," he said. "What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you're absolutely right that that has not come."

- KLBP, on 09/07/2008, -1/+16Obama owned them with his response. Who do you think has more knowledge, wisdom and experience dealing with international issues? Obama who served on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and passed legislation on critical issues like nuclear proliferation and who spent a great deal of time as a child living overseas, or Sara Palin who has only been out of the country on a couple occasions and didn't even have a passport until last year? Alaska being next to Russia. PLEASE.... spare us, I used to live in Alaska and Russia was rarely on our domestic "radar screen" and as Obama pointed out, governors do not make any foreign policy or national security decisions. If we compare VP running mate against VP running mate (Biden vs. Palin) the international experience is no contest as Biden is Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee and has intimate knoweldge and background with our foreign policy.
It would be fair to argue that McCain has more experience than Obama on these matters, however, he has learned all the wrong lessons from his experience and it would be extremely likely that he would get us embroiled in more wars. Of course if you are one of those evangelical Christians who go to churches who preach that the end of time is upon us (e.g Palin) then maybe you see McCain getting us embroiled in more wars is God's will. See: http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Sarah_Palin_s_Ch ... - PHiZ187, on 09/07/2008, -1/+15I thought it was particularly egregious for Rudy Guiliani to denigrate community organizers. New York city probably has the most active community service community anywhere in the country. As mayor of New York, he would be constantly, constantly dealing with these groups. To belittle their impact, and pretend that he doesn't know what community organizers do is dishonest and deserving of contempt.
- vexingmodstwo, on 09/08/2008, -7/+2Yeah, that's precisely why he made fun of them.
Community organizers are people like Al Sharpton. Trouble-makers.

- USArugula, on 09/08/2008, -2/+7"I think after 9/11, my friends, instead of telling people to go shopping or take a trip, we should have told Americans to join the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, the military, expand our volunteers, expand what you’re doing, expand the current missions that you are doing, that you are carrying out here in America and throughout the world, in Rwanda."
- John McCain, Saddleback Presidential Forum, August 16, 2008- ProfessorSYM, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1McCain's right, he should have said all that rather than repeat Bush's talking points...wonder why he didn't?
