- JenniferInMO, on 10/11/2008, -1/+30So, it has been officially determined that Palin abused her power as governor to further her personal interests. This woman was in office for less than 18 months before the ethics panel of the legislature unanimously voted to investigate her for corruption.
McCain/Palin have 177 corporate lobbyists and their top seven advisors, 7 of the most corrupt elite lobbyists in Washington run the campaign and will run his administration. They won't even offer up any reasonable plans to address America's problems. They have nothing to offer except more fear mongering. They use lie after lie to scare us into thinking that Obama has some kind of ominous ties when he has been fully scrutinized, the truth of the lies are there for all of us to see. We know the truth about McCain Palin. They are not just the same as Cheney/Bush they are much worse. Cheney at least has brains.
Haven't we had enough corruption and lies?!
What will it be America? Are we too afraid of a black man, too afraid of change and hope to vote for a better future?
Why would anyone vote for McCain/Palin when we absolutely know what they are all about. - MorganMghee, on 10/11/2008, -1/+21It's too bad I can't be happier about this. I don't like that this is the sort of candidate being presented to America, I don't like that a political party with the history of the Republicans in America have come to this, I don't like that she was chosen an thrown on the ticket, because I don't believe she wasn't vetted prior to that move. This does not bode well, for any of us.
- culturepress, on 10/11/2008, -1/+15Yes, it's now official! No longer just an "accusation."
- peheimbach, on 10/11/2008, -2/+12And while I hate to sound like some whiny Rightist, Steve Schmidt is going to do all that he can to be sure that the media repeats his own infamous "so what" on this.
As I said Thursday evening -- this is going to be a grassroots effort to get this out -- so if we think it's worth more than talking about the economy, etc -- and I'm not sure it is, think about how YOU will get it into conversations, etc. If you do, it should probably be a minor player, a thought-starter rather than an argument-clincher. - DesignerDave, on 10/11/2008, -1/+12They're just gonna play it off like the guy was a dangerous man, and she was perfectly justified — because when you're in power, you have the right to take away rights and act beyond your elected powers.
- magus_melchior, on 10/11/2008, -0/+8So, now there's one voice saying "she was wrong". Other than Fox, there will be several others come Saturday morning saying the same thing.
Now the question is, what is McCain going to do about it? If I were him, Steve Schmidt would be out on his ass on the sidewalk, along with the other Rove associates, or they would be facing the full, unbridled wrath of John Sidney McCain III. He's got an angry mob that's spreading like a napalm fire, and he's got a disgraced governor for a running mate.
I don't envy him. I do feel for him, he's in a position where he cannot possibly win, not even with every GOP office willing to cheat for him. - HeartlandUSA, on 10/11/2008, -0/+8
AP: McCain Linked To Felons, Drug Runners, Terrorists, & Treasonists
John McCain's campaign is criticizing Barack Obama for his ties to a former radical who engaged in violent acts four decades ago, but McCain himself was closely connected to a private group that supplied aid to rebels trying to overthrow the leftist government of Nicaragua during the Iran-Contra affair.
