- Cyrus042, on 02/23/2008, -1/+2What would you like him to say? Or is this another attempt to try and drag McCain through the mud because it's convenient? If Renzi is guilty then shame on him. He's certainly deceived his fellow congressmen, party members and most importantly his constituents.

- prahareturns, on 02/23/2008, -1/+4So, I'm guessing the Democrats are going to reign in spending and reduce our debt? Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats will resolve our financial issues. We need to clear out both houses of congress every two terms and bring accountability to our government. The only problem is that the majority of this country doesn’t care about the national debt as long as they continue to get their hand outs. No personal accountability allows for no government accountability.

Who loses? We the American people do. We'll end up with a president who pushes us into a North American Union and most of the voters in the US don't even realize that it would be a bad thing.. Ugh.- BubbaChopper, on 02/23/2008, -0/+2I couldn't have said it better myself mickemuck!!

- heystoopid, on 02/23/2008, -0/+4This is getting to be more fun then the disgraced medal winning former war hero Randy(puke) Cunningham down San Diego way !
Most interesting , this explains why all repukes express an interest in preaching the rule of honesty , integrity and the rule of law to hide all the backhanders and playing with other balls like that other no good Senator soliciting the gay vote on the QT !
So one could say politics US style is one of opposites , where the vast majority of the candidates and elected members say one thing when they mean and do the exact opposite !
But since this a system where the long gone and dead candidates get to be elected to any office and aspiring candidates stand no chance against the departed , why am I not surprised at the sheer number of thieves and charlatans holding public office hiring criminal thugs in blue uniforms !
This also begs the question , who else had his greasy hands on the laundered money as well - Leomarth, on 02/23/2008, -1/+10I live in his district. When he ran for office a few years ago, he ran on the issue of integrity and conservative values.

- y0y0howsdajell0, on 02/23/2008, -4/+5It's amazing how everyone will slam republicans like they're the only ones that do this. Clinton's had her own financial problems and been accused of rigging primaries. McCain is a bastard, but so is Clinton. Clinton believes in "family values" too, yet she's in the pocket of big corporation. Stop looking at the party and look at the issues. That's what this is about. Washington is corrupt, and it'll take a march on it to even TRY to fix anything. Instead of complaining and voting for the "lesser of two evils", why not do something about it? March on Washington! Get the word out, but don't slam one party when the other is just as guilty...

- y0y0howsdajell0, on 02/23/2008, -0/+1Actually, I'm not. I REALLY don't want Obama to be president. Yes, Obama has corporate backings, but at least he didn't use his campaign list as collateral to get a loan to bail his campaign out...I'm a Paul supporter, if you must know...

- NelsonR, on 02/23/2008, -2/+3Reality check, Americans citizens are overwhelmingly onto the past and present Republican party. Suggestion to these righteous, cede the campaign to the Democrats, why waste money campaigning, give it to the poor and elderly. In other words for once Republican's do something honest and noteworthy. McCain hasn't one chance in hell being President, the war mongering old passe politico.
- bjornski, on 02/23/2008, -0/+2Republicans?
Do something honest and noteworthy?
Surely, you jest.
- bjornski, on 02/23/2008, -0/+2Republicans?
- cidman2001, on 02/23/2008, -1/+6The more this crap comes out (from both sides) the more one gets the sense that the whole system needs a radical overhaul. We should start with getting rid of the rules that allow lobbyists to influence Washington. Then we should remove the constraints both parties have placed on us that force us to tolerate the two party system. How can you call that democratic? The regular people lost control to the rich over a century ago. Since we are in an election year, let's start with getting rid of the electoral college and return to the popular vote. We should be offering an X-prize for the private sector entity that can come up with a system that allows us (the people) to vote on individual bills from the comfort of our homes, At that point, those of us who give a ***** enough to let our opinion to be heard can have a voice that is unencumbered by the Dems,Republicans or the slanted media. The technology exists and can be a tool to measure accountability in Washington. Surely we could use fingerprint or retina scan technology to identify (anonymously) individual voters as authentic. The sooner we can give the power back to the people and restore individual states rights, the sooner we can cleanse the system of sleaze like Renzi and Jefferson...etc.
Perhaps we're not ready to give this kind of power to individuals, but even if your local elected officials could provide a voice in Washington that is separate from the rhetoric and sleaze of Congress we could start to improve the system.
One only needs to look at the demise of wildly popular candidates (right or wrong) like Ross Perot, Ron Paul or Howard Dean to see how scared the two parties are of anyone who gains some populist momentum. They get buried (even by their own party) before they can actually affect any real change. This politics as usual crap is getting really old and frankly sickening. This ***** should be a wake-up call for America....but somehow it never gets us to do anything more than lift an eyelid before we return to our blissfully ignorant slumber...and the rich get richer.
One other side note: It was interesting to see that CNN failed to mention that Renzi is McCain's Arizona Co-chair....

- drachasor, on 02/23/2008, -0/+7The biggest problem I am starting to have with McCain is that he has said that a politician shouldn't do anything that LOOKS improper. However, he repeatedly doesn't follow his own standard of behavior and seems blunder into these things repeatedly. I am not saying he has done anything wrong (there's no proof of that as of yet), but if he says he has a standard of behavior and then doesn't follow it, that kinda ruins his main appeal (to me) of integrity and high principles as far as I can tell.

Anything tearing down McCain is great news for those of us who want to take over the Republican party with our message of getting back to the basics. Ron Paul versus Obama is a dream match. The Champion of the Constitution versus the Warmonger on Pakistan.
Sorry Digg, I know you're on an Obama kick for now, but Obama's foreign policy is a nudge in the right direction when Doc Paul smacks the taste right of America's mouth.- wonderworm, on 02/23/2008, -3/+2Ron Paul supporters are all becoming Obamicans, or that is, Republicans for Obama. - yenik, on 04/30/2008, -0/+5I like Obama. But I told myself that I'd never again throw my vote away on a pointless mainstream Democrat or Republican. I'm a fiscal conservative, social libertarian.
If I vote in McCain, what have I really gained. If I vote in Obama, I am compromising on my fiscally conservative viewpoint, but I'm at least gaining respect for civil liberties. That's my view on Obama.
That said, he has yet to get the nomination in the bag.. and I fear for his safety. Beyond that, I hope when he does get into office he essentially lied to us and refuses to continue our interventionist foreign policy.
If the Democrats, (who betrayed my vote when they didn't hold out on cutting off war funds after our 2006 votes) don't give me Obama as a choice.. I refuse to vote for Hillary or McCain. McCain, nuff said... Hillary, too much of a socialist for me.. I reject her mandatory healthcare/garnished wages idea wholeheartedly.
I'll write in Ron Paul if Hillary/McCain is my choice. I'm sick of wasting my vote.

- jcalex, on 02/24/2008, -0/+3All Ron Paul has to do is challenge all other candidates to a Debate. Not a "Fox",or,"CNN" debate,NO! a debate where the public ask the questions.
Ron Paul would be the only one to show up.....any bets? - DodgeCity, on 02/24/2008, -1/+2If you dig deep enough, you'll find Sen John McCain involved in this deal.
