        I doubt anyone would waste their time writing a peer-reviewed paper on the composition of the 9/11 "truth movement", but the evidence is all there, and it's pretty damning...

Unlike the rest who sell our country out to special interest groups and wealthy lobbyists. Cynthia McKinney has done more for the people of this country than almost any other politician. To the best of her ability, she spoke the truth to power, and she did so with a great heart, and a great soul. She represents American citizens, not foreign lobbyists.       • DreadPirate, on 07/03/2008, -9/+7The cop didn't just "grab her" - he asked her *three* times to stop and she just ignored him. He then put his hand on her shoulder to stop her, and that's when she attacked him.

        As far as recognizing her, there are over 500 senators and congressmen (and women) that work in that building. It is that cop's *job* to stop people if he isn't sure they are allowed in the building. If Cynthia was a normal, civil human being she would have stopped, shown him her ID, and he would have let her continue on. But because she had to be a self-important stuck-up *****, she caused a huge incident.

        The other problem many of us have with her is that fact that she was so quick to place the race card so quickly to excuse her atrocious behavior. Especially when she (and most other people) knew that race had nothing to do with it.

It is policy and common courtesy to show credentials when going past security even in your ordinary office building. I figure Capitol Hill would be under more of a "lock-down" than anywhere that I have worked.

        When I did security the worst tenants in all of the buildings that I worked in had to be the US Attorneys.. they never wanted to show their government IDs (all other tenants got cheesy building IDs) to get in. When challenged they did, in fact, show identification and rather than punch me.

        I was following your exchange with the jcm crowd regarding Cynthia McKinney's altercation with the Capitol Police. You conceded the point unnecessarily.

        First of all, McKinney never admitted striking the cop nor did her apology include an admission thereof.

        Second, A Grand Jury did not indict her citing insufficient grounds to proceed.

        Third, there is reason to believe the cops had it in for her. The Capitol Police had a history of "not recognizing" her, so much so that they had to put a picture of her at House office building security checkpoints for all officers.

        Fourth, McKinney's lawyer says the cops initially apologized to her.

        Fifth, if McKinney really had struck a cop, why didn't the cops arrest her there on the spot??


        I thought that worthy of adding to the thread.

        Speaking of prison time for real criminals, we need to make room at a trial venue in The Hague for the extradition of George Bush, Dick Cheney and friends. Their time is coming. High treason, forced use of fabricated intelligence on Iraq, lying to propel an entire nation into perpetual war, lying about WMD to publicly justify an invasion despite the UN and USA's top weapons inspectors report that Iraq had no stockpiles of biological, chemical or nuclear weapons, high crimes and misdemeanors against the American people (just to name a few) are serious, impeachable criminal offenses which should not go unpunished.

        If American citizens had a proper representative government as they should have but do not, with real representation by their elected officials, if Congress and Senate were actually doing their jobs as paid for by our tax dollars, if the Republican and Democrats actually functioned as 2 proper opposition parties, these lawless malefactors would have been impeached a long time ago. And tried for war crimes, among other things. A President isn't above the law. Too bad the real criminals aren't doing time. Yet.
