The Companies Apple Could Buy With Its Cash Reserves, Visualized
Say Apple wanted to splurge and acquire other companies with the mind-boggling amount of cash it has — approximately $225 billion, according to Apple's 10-Q SEC filing — here's an idea of the companies it would be able to afford.
Instagram account @chartrdaily put together this infographic that gives us a sense of what companies Apple could potentially buy based on the market values of these companies on June 26, 2019:
Hypothetically speaking, with its cash reserves, Apple could acquire Manchester United, Twitter, Ferrari and Nike and still have around $25 billion to spare.
Of course, this is only speaking hypothetically, for as @chartrdaily has pointed out, acquisitions of these companies would require premiums and the actual cost of the acquisition would be much higher than estimated here. Still, this infographic is a fun way that allows us to recognize Apple's enormous spending power, should the company ever choose to utilize it.
