- ncapone, on 09/07/2008, -1/+18Facebook Exporter for iPhoto is a godsend…no more crappy Facebook uploading!
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 09/08/2008, -6/+4Instead you have to deal with crappy iPhoto! (Yes, I've had my Mac for 10 months now and iPhoto is the only app I don't like that is bundled)
- Emilio8605, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3I've used it once since getting my Macbook and I don't like it much.
- Lewiji, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2What's wrong with it? It does its job very well. Catalogues photos and allows you to do some simple editing.
- revenz, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1i never liked it until i got my iphone, its brilliant at importing my pics of my iphone, i love iphoto now.
but i dont use it as a normal picture viewer, at that, it sucks
- ryleyleckie, on 09/08/2008, -2/+3iphoto isnt bad but i find the exporter to fail often
- Gr1nch, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Indeed it does fail, but not as much as the Flash application for Facebook. I can upload(and upload again) photos from my camera to my computer to facebook in under 10 minutes with facebook exporter. I wish it would be polished a little bit more though. It sometimes has trouble signing in.
- kitsua, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Totally, this just saved me a ***** of hassle uploading photos to FaceBook.
- maxownz, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1Facebook Exporter hasn't worked for me the last few times. Very annoying! Sometimes I wonder if my photos are corrupt, but they're just from my iPhone.
- Narfmaster, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1And there's a version for Aperture which works just as well, saves me ridiculous amounts of time. :]
- Apocalyptic0n3, on 09/08/2008, -6/+4Instead you have to deal with crappy iPhoto! (Yes, I've had my Mac for 10 months now and iPhoto is the only app I don't like that is bundled)
- basye, on 09/07/2008, -3/+5Have been using Delicious Library for several years (along with an iSight as a barcoder), and can't think of a better way to keep up with our extensive home library.
- WaterMedia, on 09/08/2008, -2/+5When you're done buying *****, you can always waste time cataloging it!
- werries, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3Having a search-able database of the books and music and video games you have is a waste of time? I think it would be extremely helpful knowing what books you have.
Or maybe you don't read books. - Lewiji, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1Or you could, you know, take a look at your bookshelf
- bradleyland, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4@werries
Exactly. Once uppon a time, Digg was filled with readers who cared about stuff like catalogs of our libraries. And even if you don't necessarily care about browsing your catalog, if you've ever loaned a book, DVD, or CD to someone, you'll appreciate DL's ability to track that checkout and remind you to ask for it back.
- werries, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3Having a search-able database of the books and music and video games you have is a waste of time? I think it would be extremely helpful knowing what books you have.
- reformation, on 09/08/2008, -1/+2
Wife: What are you doing?
You: I'm cataloging all our DVDs and books!
Wife leaves. - kenahoo, on 09/09/2008, -0/+0That "better way" is called Bookpedia. http://www.bruji.com/bookpedia/ . I switched away from Delicious Library months ago, and when I contacted the Bookpedia authors to ask about additional import capabilities, they got back to me with an updated download within *minutes*.
- WaterMedia, on 09/08/2008, -2/+5When you're done buying *****, you can always waste time cataloging it!
- Oxygen, on 09/08/2008, -4/+61You know what's even more life enhancing? Not sitting at your computer 24 hours a day.
plus it's freeware.- ry4nsm1th, on 09/08/2008, -3/+8Yea but it takes a while to DL and is a bit buggy.
- Mithivh, on 09/08/2008, -3/+10Getting out is freeware? Where the hell do you go?
- mmeiser, on 09/08/2008, -3/+2I hope that's a joke. You can't think of anything to do that's doesn't cost money. I'd start a list but I don't know where to begin. How about starting by riding a bike or jogging... ehh... but I guess those aren't free... you probably don't own a pair of shoes for running or a bike eh? For that matter you could read a book, but if you live in the suburbs like most of america you'd probably have to drive 15 miles to get to your library or we're back to the buying a bike bit. Sucks to be you. Of course this list sucked too... none of the are "life ehancing".
- RobotLeAwesome, on 09/08/2008, -0/+6yeah, but it's still in alpha
- imitokay, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4AND open source :)
- kutateli, on 09/08/2008, -1/+5your mom is payware but she's worth it.
- ry4nsm1th, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Your mom is like Gmail, everyone gets in the beta for free.
- RobotLeAwesome, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2her storage space just keeps increasing with time
- haikuFU, on 09/08/2008, -3/+1They forgot OmniFocus. I started using it, and I get twice as much work done in a day, and I work about 1/4 of the time. That's a great way to not sit in front of your computer. It's probably the most brilliant Mac app out there.
Install it, and live by it. It's friggin beautiful. - toetagger, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1You should talk...
- kurough, on 09/08/2008, -0/+0But it's full of cheaters, newbs, and viruses.
- hughtopia, on 09/08/2008, -13/+2Since when do Mac users pay for software???
- bondfreak05, on 09/08/2008, -7/+5Since they started paying 2k for their computers.
- ratsg, on 09/08/2008, -1/+4MediaSight, you could have at least added URL links to the programs you listed here. The Google link being the exception.
- colonels1020, on 09/08/2008, -13/+4Microsoft Office.
- s0m31john, on 09/08/2008, -13/+6Windows
- danman890, on 09/08/2008, -3/+4They wanted life-enhancing software...
- Shaggy3, on 09/08/2008, -2/+5Some coop apps I've never heard of. No links to their websites though!
- chkdg8, on 09/08/2008, -1/+23Life enhancing, I don't think so. Now, Quicksilver on the other hand.. I'm just saying.
- freakstyle571, on 09/08/2008, -1/+2Quicksilver is quite possibly the greatest thing on my Mac.
I didn't RTFA but i hope iStat Menu's is on that list. It has saved a lot of trouble and a few bills (monitoring network usage)...- Galaxylander, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1Neither are. Skitch, Screenflow, Fluid, iWork and AppCleaner aren't there either.
App Zapper is good, but it costs money, and I mean, money sucks.
- Galaxylander, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1Neither are. Skitch, Screenflow, Fluid, iWork and AppCleaner aren't there either.
- freakstyle571, on 09/08/2008, -1/+2Quicksilver is quite possibly the greatest thing on my Mac.
- w1n78, on 09/08/2008, -15/+23having a mac is already life-enhancing
- PabloMac, on 09/08/2008, -3/+8Dugg to offset burying by Windoze ostriches.
- DeFex, on 09/08/2008, -6/+3do windows users run really fast or something? thats what ostriches do.
- DeFex, on 09/08/2008, -6/+3do windows users run really fast or something? thats what ostriches do.
- Slacker1031, on 09/08/2008, -2/+5oooh, haha, ouch. uh, wow... nevermind, no you go ahead. i'm just gonna be over here....away from that.
- PabloMac, on 09/08/2008, -3/+8Dugg to offset burying by Windoze ostriches.
- ericdano, on 09/08/2008, -0/+11OSX Planet instead of that Earth one. Why pay $24 for something that does the same thing for free. Lame list. Buried.
- fugazied, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Thanks, I actually considered by earth desk for a while there!
- qbqb, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1Excellent suggestion.
- ForestRangerBen, on 09/08/2008, -1/+18None of those Apps Enhanced my Life. Now Unison, Adium, and Coda....
- RobotLeAwesome, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3second.
- seanc6610, on 09/08/2008, -0/+8the only thing i don't like about adium is the lack of video chat.
- ianknauer, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1and how slow file transfers are
- withincontext, on 09/08/2008, -0/+5Agreed, especially on Coda. I'd also add MAMP, Quicksilver, and Growl.
- jackyyll, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1Couldn't live without quicksilver :3
- killscreenes, on 09/08/2008, -3/+14I want a "12 Free Life-Enhancing Programs For Your Mac" list. Buried for being expensive.
- SecureXeC, on 09/08/2008, -1/+2You bought a Mac, and then couldn't shell out $15 for a piece of software?
The bells of irony are chiming away.
- SecureXeC, on 09/08/2008, -1/+2You bought a Mac, and then couldn't shell out $15 for a piece of software?
- trunks333, on 09/08/2008, -8/+6i'm not cool enough to own a mac
- jthei, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2nope.
- Netsyphen, on 09/12/2008, -0/+0nope.
- RobotLeAwesome, on 09/08/2008, -1/+7Gizmo? I know tons of people who use it that i can talk to!
Miro? It has awesome content!
Earthdesk? totally worth 24$ and hogging up some memory!
Sofa Control!? a better option doesn't exist!
I'm not being sarcastic at all!- eThikas, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1Id like to know if a better alternative to Sofa Control exists
- rickastleyfan2, on 09/08/2008, -3/+2there's two things that i hate in this world: 1. the incestual jonas brothers and 2. MR.BABYMAN
- Chubs879, on 09/08/2008, -2/+1"Gizmo
Freeware, Mac OS X 10.3.9+
Like Skype, Gizmo is a cross-platform internet telephone solution that uses your mic, speaker and broadband connection to make calls to other computers running Gizmo. Calls to computers are completely free, or you can make or receive calls to regular phones at competitive international rates. The software can also record conversations, transfer files, instant message, show users on a map and group chat! So, what are you waiting for? GO GET SKYPE!"- ryanfaith88, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1Now while this isn't VoIP, I thought it was pretty interesting:
http://mirasoftware.com/BPE2/
Now if anyone knows of a free program or less bloated one, please tell me. - eldridgea, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1SIP, GrandCentral, and open source - that's why.
- ryanfaith88, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1Now while this isn't VoIP, I thought it was pretty interesting:
- danman890, on 09/08/2008, -4/+3Shouldn't it be applications, not programs?
- DeFex, on 09/08/2008, -1/+3same difference.
- unrealmp3, on 09/08/2008, -1/+7life-enhancing? Come on, it's a computer software.
- benguild, on 09/08/2008, -2/+1Is there a program like Delicious Library for Windows? I'm pretty interested but don't own a Mac at this point in time.
- jake1986, on 09/08/2008, -2/+1You can get pzizz for like 10 dollars if you're a college student, or if you just send them an email asking. It's pretty cool, but I rarely use it anymore.
- hellahyphy, on 09/08/2008, -3/+2I believe they are called applications not programs!
- CalcProgrammer1, on 09/08/2008, -3/+3Ubuntu 8.04.
- ethana2, on 09/08/2008, -0/+0I think you mean Firefox, Transmission, Brasero, Rhythmbox, OpenOffice, Pidgin, GIMP.......
- LastDitchHero, on 09/08/2008, -3/+2What about virtual box with an install of XP or Ubuntu. That would enhance any Mac user's life.
- WaterMedia, on 09/08/2008, -2/+2So pathetic.
- ethana2, on 09/08/2008, -0/+0No, XP just needs to go die-- and the awesome benefits of Ubuntu really come out when it's running /on/ the hardware, not in a VM.
- HouseCentipede, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1Screw that, VMware Fusion is the finest virtualization software on the market.
- Slacker1031, on 09/08/2008, -7/+2My life will never be good enough until everyone recognizes that i need to be noticed in public with my MacBook.
- Lewiji, on 09/08/2008, -1/+2I actually hate using my Macbook in public for exactly that reason...
- Slacker1031, on 09/10/2008, -0/+1well there was some serious sarcasm in my comment if anyone didn't pick up on that. Point is you shouldn't care what others think when it comes to using a fuctional product. thats why I detest apple so much, electronics are not shouldn't reflect fads and fashion statments more than the fuctions they carry out. however if they DO, but it's perfect for what you need it, then who the ***** cares.
- WaterMedia, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1Looking for a nice life enhancing app? Check out: http://www.slifelabs.com/
A free app tracking/goal setting software to help you manage your time better. (Not affiliated but it is very helpful.) - skidogallard, on 09/08/2008, -1/+5I just love how they linked to every application.
- blastcube, on 09/08/2008, -1/+3The good this is there are more Mac users these days, so the Windows fanbois wont be able to digg us down anymore :)
http://apple20.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2008/04/01/an ... - kishosingh, on 09/08/2008, -2/+1Cool! Nice collections of life enhancing program!!
- kerms, on 09/08/2008, -1/+1the only good one on that list is the facebook exporter..
- Tyrant505, on 09/08/2008, -1/+2dugg d0wn for no Quicksilver
- ScotchInBox, on 09/08/2008, -1/+4Buried. Lame list.
- gaoshan, on 09/08/2008, -0/+5That was one of the lamest Mac apps lists I've ever read. Yuck.
- meghalc, on 09/08/2008, -2/+1Life Enhancing Programs?! WOW! Does it have option to hook up your USB powered Blowup dolls for all you macboys?
Some of you people need help. - ethana2, on 09/08/2008, -1/+0I love how everyone tries to get mac and windows users to pay for every little thing, I find that hilarious.
- HouseCentipede, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1I went to the sites for both Miro and Gizmo, and refused to install both because at some point in the download process, they capitalized "Mac." "Mac," which is short for "Macintosh." It's not a ***** acronym. You don't capitalize the whole thing. ***** you!
- aenegeling, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3what about 1password? that program is brilliant.. ^_^
- benzzene, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2From the Pzizz website:
"how does pzizz do these things?
[...] # binaural beat: inducing theta brainwaves"
*****! - jordn, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3EarthDesk, Life Enhancing? O RLY?
Buried. - Mithivh, on 09/08/2008, -0/+1Mostly payed programs... wonder who was payed off to write this.
Check out the new & improved
