          Nokia refuses to develop CDMA. OpenMoko is GSM..
          I mean, most of the best phones are GSM... it's the better technology for the open consumer.

Plus I have been connected for over 3 hours with interruption. I am using instead of the free wi-fi that is in the area because it is faster. I don't know what kind of real speed you get on the the other networks, but AT&T seems to be doing something right.

            Well, from what I've heard, there's better data coverage in Europe, though I may well be wrong. I also could be wrong assuming he is from Europe simply based on the fact that he said he doesn't live in America,

            I guess it was just a baseless assumption. To phrase it better, he could enjoy 3g on the network of his choice, be it for better or worse. How's that?

      AT&T has really ramped up its 3G game this year and we've only just started Q2- coverage is great. Furthermore, existing 1.8Mbps 3G towers are simply software upgradable to 3.6 and speeds well beyond 7.2Mbps. Wiki HSPA and learn why the CDMA carrier's game, on the contrary, is about up.

    You know - the ones that have been telling anyone who will listen that 'nobody needs 3G' as apparently 'EDGE is just as fast' and my personal favourite, 'the world has free WiFi everywhere'.
    • m1zl3d, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2Well, I got my iPhone the day it released. I never stated anything like the above. Edge sucks. Everyone I've talked to who has the iPhone says it sucks. Steve Jobs has pretty much stated it "isn't as fast as he would like it to be".

      I'm more worried about AT&T's 3G coverage or the lack thereof. I don't want to get a 3G iPhone just to find out that I can only get 3G in certain areas of town. That would be a waste. Edge coverage is everywhere however and you can surf as long as you have cell service pretty much.

It's probably true that ATT will have all their smart devices 3g in a few months, but if Apple doesn't deliver a new 3g iphone then they can't really do that. So now we're back to square one again. One thing is for sure. 3G iphone is definitely coming, we just don't know when.

  • Tikisam, on 04/03/2008, -0/+1I can only imagine what Apple thinks of this. The CEO of AT&T confirmed in 2007 that there would be a 3g iphone this year, and is now giving out more info. Apple has its reasons for keeping products in the dark, and for AT&T to treat that confidentiality with such little respect has to be causing riffs between the two parties.
