http://wiki.43folders.com/index.php/Quicksilver#Alternatives_for_Windows_Users - MBarnwell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i have a question for everyone and hopefully someone can help me, i went through everything like he said, but when i type shelf or clipboard all i get is "Shelf & Clipboard Catalog" (i'm trying to setup triggers to bring up both)
this is in Quicksilver B51 (3800) anyone having success? - Arkitan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@MBarnwell
I'm running into the same problem, perhaps he left something out.
Anyone care to help? I'm new to Quicksilver. - SteveInsrtTtl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1The problem you are having is caused by the Catalog. The same thing happened to me, and I unfortunately forgot the exact fix. I think that it involved the info drawer in the Catalog box under the Shelf and Clipboard Module. If it is working there will be a '2' next to the Module, if not there will be nothing.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help! - Arkitan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I got it working, I think it just needs to rescan the catalog after it did that I was fine.
- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3Wait a sec! i dont see any of those features on my computer!!
- ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5Quicksilver is nice, but I perfer Butler - http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/20035
- jeremedia, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2I agree, Butler is great. In the same vein, versiontracker is nice, but macupdate is much better: http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/12170
- mastercheif, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Lol, I just made the switch from QS to Butler today!
QS and Butler really do two different things. QS is the entire OS at your fingertips. Butler is more of a launcher, and is more of a lifestyle program, it helps you along with everyday tasks like having all open programs have a icon in the menu bar, and the google bar.
- SteveInsrtTtl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25The YouTube link is a bit blurry due to the 10mb restriction. Higher quality versions are available here:

I only linked to the YouTube because I know that you Diggers hate random blog advertisements!- victorycig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Much better res. Thank you.
- mikev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This is good. I actually thought of writing a QS tutorial but a screencast is even better.
Quicksilver is a great app. I feel like it is part of the OS and Apple forgot to ship it with Tiger :P- DeezKnots, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, I was thinking the same thing after seeing the video. I guess I'm gonna have to download it.
- jarinudom, on 03/31/2008, -0/+4I wouldn't be at all surprised if Apple ends up buying Blacktree and includes Quicksilver in Leopard (much like how they bought the rights to Cover Flow to include in iTunes).
- cphuntington97, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Quicksilver is a free application made by Blacktree Software for Mac OS X. It allows the user to use the keyboard to rapidly perform actions like launching applications, manipulating files, and sending email. It is very similar to another Mac OS X application called LaunchBar.

- spinningobo, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4Wow. And I thought it was a clothing brand.
- Omninox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6no, its a novel by Neal Stephenson.
- epall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Eww! Mouse! He uses the mouse! How dare he!
It's amazing how many different ways you can use Quicksilver. Everybody has their own set of features and their own workflows. Some of us use it as an app launcher, some of us use it to "copy large blocks of data," some use it to send emails, and some use it for everything. Quicksilver is just awesome. - zephc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That command-tab copy-pasting looked slower with the clipboard than just command-tabbing back and forth. That said, a clipboard history would be nice, but I don't think that is the coolest solution. Suggestion: paste command brings up a popup menu of applicable data which can be pasted in, with text shown, and images shown as thumbnails (or a default icon if its too big, and maybe the data size)
- SteveInsrtTtl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah it was probably a bad example. I use the Clipboard History the most when searching for something from several days ago, but it can also be very useful for copying small points of data in many different steps (such as address information) and transfering it into a spreadsheet, for example.
- Rqtect, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Mac is on its way back.
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I cant live without QS on a Mac, and on the same token Launchy on Windows.
- mattyohe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1His usage of copying entries from wikipedia isn't that time saving... Just grab that text and make it a clipping on your desktop. then just drag those clippings into a text edit window. Same process, without wasting processes.
- Syndrome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks this is just what i needed i was worried i wasn't taking full advantage of quicksilver's features :)
- aceuk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Is there a higher quality version of that video? I can't even see what he is typing in the YouTube one.
- SteveInsrtTtl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes.

- SteveInsrtTtl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yes.
- AJMuni, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is Steve's 3rd tutorial for QS (Finally steve!!!, been waiting for 3rd vid) have always been helpful to me. I had QS before, but always got rid of it because I never learned how to use it correctly, and I hated reading all those tutorials. Thanks again steve.
