History of Mac OS
amacgenius.com — The Mac OS was not the first graphical user interface, but it was the first successful one. The reason for this is simple: affordability. Read this article about the Mac OS.

- FiveIron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0do we need a "history of..." article everyday, they dont make it to the homepage anymore because they've all been done before, whether it be apple, microsoft, google, insert tech company/product name here.
- dotuplink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hey, it's interesting....
- tarun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Horrible contrast--I can hardly read it. Time to View->Page Style->No Style in Firefox.

Digg. - SVPirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Makes interesting reading even though I know most of it. I have to say he very much played down how bad Mac os 7.5.x was though. It was upon using a machine running 7.5.x I swore I'd never use a Mac again. Of course that all changed when I saw OS X, but hey ;o)
- 7of7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Wow, the irony almost made my head explode. "The Mac OS was the first popular graphical user interface because of...affordability." Now Apple is struggling as a company to not completely disappear. Were it not for their cult like following among 13 year olds and dumbass college hipsters, Apple would be gone right now because they lack exactly what made them popular, affordability.
- Jeffeh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Lack affordability? not sure where that came from but between the Mac Mini, iBooks, and iMac's they seem to be the cheapest computers out there considering the quality and power you receive from each one.
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Man, I miss System 6. In this age of OSes that need to be wiped every so often just to get all the malware off, five-minute shutdown times and inevitable hangs and crashes (yes, I'm dissing both Windows and OS X), it's hard to remember a time when a machine just did the work you needed to do, then let you go back outside and play.

I know you don't like Apple, 7of7, and that's just fine. But is it really necessary to make up BS to support your negative viewpoint?
Apple is doing better now than at any point in their history. And this isn't only because of the iPod (although I'll admit that that the iPod has done much to make people aware of Apple's other products).
I'm not a 13 year old. Nor am I a "college hipster" (whatever the hell that is). I own a Windows PC, a Linux PC and a Macintosh. Each has their uses (for me, at least). I'll bet I'm in a far better better position to judge these platforms than you are. And I'm telling you that your bigoted viewpoint is full of hot air. - recover82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0to increase the font size hold down Ctrl and scroll your mouse wheel back towards you.
i know this works in both IE and Firefox. - diggnationdevon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pictures would be nice

isn't that the case with most Mac users? we use them all and decide Macs are what we LIKE to use... as opposed to the typical Windows fanboy who has never turned on any other OS... which of course renders their opinion on the subject lame. :)
