How To: Get an iPhone 3G for $199… Without Contract!
phonenews.com — A loophole in AT&T policy permits you to walk away with an iPhone 3G, and no contract, for around $199. You do have to jump through a few hoops, but it appears to be kosher with Apple and AT&T policy on iPhone 3G.

- hatoncat, on 07/06/2008, -0/+0I don't see how that's really a negative. You wind up selling that phone on eBay when you're done with the process. If it saves you $200, ordering a phone seems like a trivial barrier.
- jazzviolin, on 07/07/2008, -1/+1You have to be ***** kidding me. This is the most convoluted, ***** up way to save money, it requires purchasing a phone, already having an existing iPhone, and selling ***** on eBay.
- hatoncat, on 07/07/2008, -0/+1Deal just got better, now the Tilt is only $99, so you actually can get the iPhone 3G without contract for LESS than the new customer price.
To those that don't like this deal, which price would you prefer to pay: $199, $399, or $599. I strongly prefer $199, even if I have to jump through a few hoops. - trestevenson, on 07/08/2008, -1/+1I can honestly say that I don't know ANYBODY who wants a new iPhone that badly, including myself. As cool of an article as this is, the process is hardly practical.
- tsizzles, on 07/13/2008, -1/+0It doesn't work anymore. And all this does is put money in that ***** Christopher Price's back pocket. He's trying to get people to sign up for AT&T using his referral link.
