Make your Macbook auto shoot, upload, and thumb photos with iSight and FTP!
deography.com — Inspired by the story of the guy who did this and got photos from inside the Apple repair center, I thought this would be a great anti-theft measure. Using only FOSS and a little BASH shell script (no applescript) my MBP now takes a photo every time I pop the lid, and automatically uploads it to the web. My script is [CC] so go forth and improve!

- jfox95, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i don't know how to get the scripts to work.. anyone up for more detailed instructions?
- jgillman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The script is working for me when I manually call the command from the terminal, but when sleepwatcher runs it, I always get zero-byte files. Help?!
- erfmufn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hi there.. just turn remove the line in the script that says "passive" that should fix your problem :)
- jgillman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0:-( I saw that line in the comments, but no dice. I tried deleting it and setting it to "passive off" and "passive on".
Like I said, it works great if I run it manually, but I keep getting zero files when sleepwatcher runs it.
you can email me at: jgillman [at] mcad [dot] edu - jgillman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Figured it out! This may only be for my computer, but if anyone else if having trouble it would be worth giving this a try. I also changed the directory to a dot folder inside of Documents because sometimes I throw jpegs in there.
Thanks again for the main code, Dylan!
