MobileMe Setup in iPhone OS 2.0 Video
gizmodo.com — We already knew that MobileMe e-mail services are now fully active and accessible through any desktop mail client. This morning I tried to set up MobileMe in my iPhone with OS 2.0 and I discovered that the calendar, bookmarks, and contacts all synchronized fine, even while push synching.

- maxthreepwood, on 07/08/2008, -1/+8Hopefully tomorrow mobileme will activate.
- PhillyMJS, on 07/09/2008, -0/+3Apple has already announced that .Mac will go down at 9pm Eastern on July 9, and MobileMe will come up by 3am Eastern on July 10.
If there are any software changes needed that weren't already included in the 10.5.3 or 10.5.4 updates, I guess we'll find something in our Software Update sometime on Thursday.

- wellyuk, on 07/09/2008, -1/+1Can you say that with authority? And if so, how? Because I care.
- deadbaby, on 07/09/2008, -3/+5So in other words... it works exactly like it was demoed at WWDC? Insightful...
- lukee, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2OTA contact and calendar sync isn't working yet, and if the person in the video actually had contact/calendar data in their MobileMe account, they'd realize as such. Yet, Gizmodo assumes it works, despite a lack of evidence.
Also, when enabling MobileMe sync, it tells you that all the contact/calendar data on the iPhone/iPod touch will be blown away, so I have no idea why they're confused about that. - pixelperfect, on 07/09/2008, -4/+2Made popular with 5 comments and 120 diggs? Cool video though.
- mmilton, on 07/09/2008, -1/+3This was probably a bigger move for Apple than the 3g-based phone. They'll be getting into the on-line applications biz. Could be very big
- JoeLeo, on 07/09/2008, -0/+2While we wait for MobileMe to go live we can still read the reviews from Walt Mossberg of the WSJ and All Things D, Ed Baig from USA Today and David Pogue from the NYT: http://ad.vu/6e
- freaky2k, on 07/09/2008, -2/+2Everything iPhone should really not make the front page. I mean come on people.
- joshchandler, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1MobileMe actually now gives me a reason to get an iPhone, I can justify the contract prices in the UK with this kind of software. I can't wait!
- sonicularulus, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1mobile me goes online tonight, then apple needs to release itunes 7.7, then finally the 2.0 for us first generation iphone owners.
- yabos, on 07/09/2008, -0/+1I think the best thing about that video is that it shows that you can see the last character you just entered in the password field. Such an easy change but that will be very useful.
