AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!- mentor972, on 06/06/2008, -2/+1Lame.
- avions, on 06/05/2008, -1/+99Can you get arrested stalking the 3G iPhone?
- bcaulfield, on 06/06/2008, -2/+9No. At least, I haven't been.
- PeanutCheeseBar, on 06/06/2008, -1/+15Buried as inaccurate; any real Apple fan would not be stalking the 3G iPhone shipments, as they'd already be lined up in front of the Apple store just waiting for them to be made available for purchase and blogging about it on their current iPhone.
- rpgmaker, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3Only to find that they will still be in stock three days after and half the price one month later. Rape a la Steve.
- damnyooneek, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4only if it puts a restraining order on you
- theotheragentm, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3If you have the original iPhone, just turn it off. They can geolocate you and make sure you're outside of the restricted radius.
- StephenCIreland, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1thats another new feature it has, under contacts you can now click "restrain"
- PabloMac, on 06/06/2008, -1/+2In order to stalk an iPhone, you have to know whare the iPhone lives, works, hangs out, etc.
- nedy78, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1I'm emailing from prison right now!
- scaper, on 06/06/2008, -0/+2I doubt you can be arrested, you could probably get committed though..
- cmearns, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3It feels like all this iPhone news is the new geek Paparazzi.
Honestly... we're taking voyeur pictures of unmarked cardboard boxes now. Its getting a bit embarassing.
... and still, I can't ... stop ... looking ... - KingGorilla, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1no means no
- pauldy, on 06/05/2008, -4/+9Since when is speculation wisdom. In any event way to stoke the iphone 3g fires. Invest a couple bucks in a telescope next time. :-)
- bcaulfield, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1*****. That gives me an idea...
- alpha19, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3An iPhone with a... telescope?!
- Lingur, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3A TelePhone?
- alpha19, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3An iPhone with a... telescope?!
- TheNeptune, on 06/06/2008, -1/+1Hint: the brown boxes are refurbished iMacs. I'm not saying there won't be a 3G iPhone, but those boxes aren't it.
Also, I'd speculate the quantity has to do with preparation for back to school computer sales... and all the promotions we've heard in relation to back to school... they're expecting to move a lot of computers.- dagamer34, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1Having common sense on digg is not allowed!!!!!
But it really does make sense. Besides, Jobs is too anal to let someone ELSE break their NDA and spoil the surprise. He's gonna capitalize on the 1 year anniversary and release it the same day, or more practically the last Friday in June (the 27th) @ 6:00PM.
There's also the standard 2-3 week review period by the media where they all get a chance to play with it before the public does. The more time from unveiling to showtime, the greater the hype will be. - Bootes, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1Why would the manufacturer of Apple products have refurbished Macs?
- dagamer34, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1Having common sense on digg is not allowed!!!!!
- essjay, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1That's sort of a good point. He took a camera, why the hell didn't he take a decent one? You would have thought he's be better prepared. Could it be because the boxes actually contain sugar and this idiot has been running around chasing a non-story? It all seems too convenient that any real information was ever so slightly out of reach.
- bcaulfield, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1*****. That gives me an idea...
- glake, on 06/06/2008, -12/+9Hope this is true. Treo needs replacing.

- PabloMac, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3But their customer service will continue to suck.

- cliffr39, on 06/06/2008, -0/+0at least they would be going to the lesser of the evils.
- wrestlingnrj, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1I've got Verizon for my personal phone and work went from ATT to Sprint and I've got to say out of the three Verizon has been the best by far with Sprint in second as far as service and coverage go.
- krische, on 06/06/2008, -2/+2Sprint will be getting Android phones when those start coming out later this year.
- fromedome, on 06/06/2008, -2/+3Mine too. Itching to dump Sprint.
- Spamcan, on 06/06/2008, -10/+5Should I be at an Apple store on Monday? I imagine they'll show the whole thing there since it's streamed live on the Internet. I was hoping to pick up a new iPhone next week and I'd hate for them to sell out. The down side is I'd have to be in an Apple store when it's full of "mac enthusiasts" and watch Steve Jobs' masturbatory grandstanding rather then just read Engadget's live updates.
- ploke, on 06/06/2008, -1/+3If you are debating doing this then you cannot attempt to speak poorly about "mac enthusiasts." Get the iPhone whenever the lines of lemmings shrink a little. You can hold out.
- ross., on 06/06/2008, -0/+4Live on the internet? Its never been live before.
- irgeorge, on 06/06/2008, -0/+2It used to be, not anymore.
- bloodguard, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1If you work for a large company that has a little leverage you can lean on your AT&T rep. Ours said that "if - *wink*" they're out monday he can have two in my hands sometime tuesday. Nice happenstance that our contract is up for renewal in July (leverage).
- MacParrot, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1Even IF (and that's a big if) they sell out, chances are maybe...JUST maybe they'll make more. Let the crowds rush in and wait a little bit. Not like your life is dependant on a new iPhone. Heck, I didn't even buy the first one and won't buy this one either if it doesn't have most of what I want.
- mentor972, on 06/06/2008, -1/+1It's never live on the internet..... Stupid.
- brundlefly76, on 06/07/2008, -0/+1I think you'll want to be at an AT&T store - supposedly AT&T is subsidizing the handsets they sell (for new customers only, I would imagine).
- funsutton, on 06/06/2008, -6/+12I bet they have guards with m-16's like they do in mexico.
- funkyp56, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!! STEAL ONE!!!!!!!!!
- mhummel, on 06/06/2008, -0/+0There's no way something as terminally hip as the iPhone would be guarded by M -16s. It would demand nothing less than cool than AK-47s wielded by bearded Cubans wearing berets and sunglasses.

- IphtashuFitz, on 06/06/2008, -1/+17Absolutely amazing. A bunch of plain brown boxes are stacked up next to some boxes that are obviously Apple products and suddenly everybody knows for certain that those brown boxes contain iPhones. I'm not saying that they don't (and I'm not saying they do) but all the rampant speculation about the new phone is ridiculous, especially when it gets to the level of articles about plain brown boxes that MIGHT contain them ending up on the front page of Digg...
- tiuk, on 06/06/2008, -1/+2Wouldn't it have already gone through the FCC if it were being sold next week?
- IphtashuFitz, on 06/06/2008, -1/+1This has been discussed to death on various threads here and other sites. In a nutshell, the FCC will willingly withhold publication of certification results for unreleased products until the product is released or the company that developed the product requests it.
- harmil, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1To be fair, the article is quite clear on this point, and in fact it speculates broadly on what else might be in the boxes, but the conclusions they tentatively draw are fairly logical.
- dickardwa, on 06/06/2008, -0/+2Who gives a *****? I can't believe this. BTW, check out this post in response to the speculation.

- Wargalas, on 06/06/2008, -9/+15Look at yourselves foaming at the mouth. It's a ***** PHONE. It's not the second coming of Jesus. It's not groundbreaking, phones like this have been available for years. Apple just spit shines something, and you all reach for your wallets.
- krische, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1I'm personally more excited for Android. I think that has the potential to be more revolutionary than the iphone.
- herbiehancock00, on 06/06/2008, -8/+7"phones like this have been available for years"
No they have not. No phones before iphone even came close on the intuitiveness of the interface. It's the software that made the iphone.- Wargalas, on 06/06/2008, -3/+3You're kidding right? It's a smart phone with a pretty case and a large touch screen. Take a look around, and you'll find phones out there that can do what the iPhone can do and a LOT more for less price.

- Testies, on 06/06/2008, -1/+1What's with the play by play? We get it. There is a new phone by Apple.
I'm wondering, this is got to be some sort of Pavlov's Dog type experiment by Apple.
Hope you can all restrain yourselves from ripping into the warehouse, naked in the middle of the night, foaming at the mouth and masturbating at the sight of unopened boxes.
Watch it!! Floor is slippery.
It will just delay the delivery of the phone because it might pose safety risk to warehouse workers.
And then what?
Few extra weeks of waiting? We have people with weak hearts here. And our emergency medical system is stretched to the limit. This might be trouble. Uh-Oh. - belthesar, on 06/06/2008, -1/+1Actual Forbes article where majority of the blog post and pictures come from: http://www.forbes.com/home/2008/06/05/iphone-stake ...
- niradg, on 06/06/2008, -0/+2Actually, I strongly believe that some of the bigger stores have shipments of them already, and that they may be for sale on Tuesday. I was driving back from LAX last week when I saw some airfreight crates on a truck that said "Apple Store- Caesar's Forum." it was a very small shipment for such a big truck, and I don't think Apple usually uses airfreight for most products.
- nedy78, on 06/06/2008, -1/+2Such hostility......Can somebody tell me why there is such an epic battle between Apple and Microsoft? I understand peoples personal preferences, but come on now. I've owned both and they each have qualities in which I respect and those that aren't so desirable.
- MacParrot, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3There lies a tale. Back in the 90s when Apple was actually in danger of going under, almost every story about the company began with "Beleaguered" or "Embattled". There was a hard core group of *ahem* enthusiasts who would go out and spam every story for the slightest affront to Apple. Eventually there was a backlash and now we have the opposite problem. Instead of just a few fanboys excited about some new Apple gizmo, we have people dedicated to going to any story on any website about Apple and dredging up FUD at every opportunity. It escalates into lots of online yelling and screaming and is generally a waste of time for everyone involved.
I admit to being one of them back in the day, but frankly it gets old and with Apple doing OK these days they really don't need me as a cheerleader so I don't bother (my digg name not withstanding). Use Windows, Linux, or the Mac OS. If it's doing everything you need it to do then what does it really matter what someone else uses? Just ignore the obvious "Apple/Microsoft/Linux/PS3/Wii/XBox" fanboys. - d3dm, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1Apple fanboys remind me of Scrappy-Do.
