alleyinsider.com — Conventional wisdom is that Steve Jobs will unveil new iPhones at his WWDC event next week, and put them on sale shortly after. Which means that there have be pallets of new iPhones stacked somewhere in the U.S. right now. So where are they? Check Fremont, Calif.

      Also, I'd speculate the quantity has to do with preparation for back to school computer sales... and all the promotions we've heard in relation to back to school... they're expecting to move a lot of computers.

        But it really does make sense. Besides, Jobs is too anal to let someone ELSE break their NDA and spoil the surprise. He's gonna capitalize on the 1 year anniversary and release it the same day, or more practically the last Friday in June (the 27th) @ 6:00PM.

        There's also the standard 2-3 week review period by the media where they all get a chance to play with it before the public does. The more time from unveiling to showtime, the greater the hype will be.

I was hoping to pick up a new iPhone next week and I'd hate for them to sell out. In a nutshell, the FCC will willingly withhold publication of certification results for unreleased products until the product is released or the company that developed the product requests it.

I was driving back from LAX last week when I saw some airfreight crates on a truck that said "Apple Store- Caesar's Forum." it was a very small shipment for such a big truck, and I don't think Apple usually uses airfreight for most products.

There was a hard core group of *ahem* enthusiasts who would go out and spam every story for the slightest affront to Apple. Eventually there was a backlash and now we have the opposite problem. Instead of just a few fanboys excited about some new Apple gizmo, we have people dedicated to going to any story on any website about Apple and dredging up FUD at every opportunity. It escalates into lots of online yelling and screaming and is generally a waste of time for everyone involved.

      I admit to being one of them back in the day, but frankly it gets old and with Apple doing OK these days they really don't need me as a cheerleader so I don't bother (my digg name not withstanding). Use Windows, Linux, or the Mac OS. If it's doing everything you need it to do then what does it really matter what someone else uses? Just ignore the obvious "Apple/Microsoft/Linux/PS3/Wii/XBox" fanboys.
