- alex7575, on 07/14/2008, -0/+6To those who are expecting the Push technology to work 100% will be disappointed like I am. The push technology works as follows:
MM=MobileMe
MM ---->iPhone - Push
iPhone ----> MM - Push
MM ----> PC/Mac - Push (haven't tested on a PC myself)
PC/Mac -----> SYNC every 15 mins (WTF)
From Apple's Knowledge Base (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1155 ):
"Symptoms
With MobileMe Push, you can choose how often your computer syncs your contacts, calendars, and other sync data via MobileMe. If you select "Automatically", changes made on your computer may not immediately sync to MobileMe.

Resolution
Mac OS X
Selecting Automatic in Mac OS X allows your computer to immediately sync and update when there are any changes on the MobileMe servers. Those changes can come from your iPhone, iPod touch, the MobileMe website, or another computer. Changes made on your computer will be synced to the MobileMe "cloud" once every 15 minutes (or every hour in Mac OS X 10.4.11).
Microsoft Windows
Selecting Automatically in the MobileMe Control Panel syncs your computer with MobileMe every 15 minutes."
Apple also just changed the marketing material:

- dpowre, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1make sure you check those off in system prefs. ->mobileme->sync tab
- GoldenChaos, on 07/14/2008, -2/+1Everything works properly for me - for someone who likes to have only one computer to prevent clutter, having the closest possible thing (cloud computing with the most used features of the desktop) is wonderful. As far as I can see, it's not too much different than .Mac's syncing, and I'll never use the web apps. As for mail, I use GMail IMAP - I wish the MobileMe web app could use my GMail account in the way that the desktop Mail.app does. I don't mean forwarding my GMail to my MobileMe for push mail - I could care less about that - but I mean being able to use MobileMe's webmail client as a full-featured mail client, able to check my GMail IMAP and everything akin to what the desktop client does.
THAT would make MobileMe simply spectacular. Otherwise, no complaints about any of the syncing services - my iPhone, iMac and MacBook Pro are all very happy.- kkiran, on 07/15/2008, -0/+1Push gmail : http://windows-mobiles.com/?p=300
- toetagger, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2Don't pay for this until you learn it works. Apple screwed up .mac and they'll screw this up too. I learned the hard way.
- asporter, on 07/15/2008, -1/+0I'm loving the services after some initial issues - had to reset all data from the first computer before it pushed and synced with two others. Now all is great!
