- shempey, on 10/10/2007, -2/+202I really can't wait for tomorrow to come so we can put an end to this endless speculation. That said if this is anywhere close to accurate and the new iPods = iPhone - phone + at least 80gb apple can expect my hard-earned cash.
- hove, on 10/10/2007, -0/+87Can you really end something that is endless?
- shempey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16Fair point. I don't suppose that you could.

- 0mnio, on 10/10/2007, -17/+10If it is WIFI and can stream my 250gig music library over my home network, stream somaFM, browse the web, make love to my wife, wash my cat, mow the lawn...then Apple has a buyer too!
- bsolidgold, on 10/10/2007, -2/+44I can do all of that... are you sure you want me sleeping with your wife, though?
She might get rid of you all together.- humperdeath, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14But can you do that for around $300?
- subliminalurge, on 10/10/2007, -2/+34I might do it for free. Need pics of the wife first, though.
- kalphegor, on 10/10/2007, -13/+3I give you pictures with my girlfriend. She's a nice long hair blonde with big ass and her name is Peter.
Btw, do you want the pictures anymore?
- humperdeath, on 10/10/2007, -2/+14But can you do that for around $300?
- bsolidgold, on 10/10/2007, -2/+44I can do all of that... are you sure you want me sleeping with your wife, though?
- kingkilr, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23Same, my 3G is finally dying, 3Gs really were the pimpest things for the longest time, /cries
- Ludwig, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Likewise. I can't stand the click-wheel, and love my 3G's single-piece front. I hope like hell what they announce tomorrow is an iPod that functions like on the iPhone, as my 3G is begging for death.
- ravan46, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1A new battery brought my 3G back to life! Good for another 5 years.
- lukasm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1yep, $20 battery in my 3G earlier in the year and it's good as new! Even though it's only 3 years old people seem to react as if it's ancient when I pull it out of my pocket.
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -14/+2I am seriously going to be laughing my ass off at all the rumor mills when there is no touch screen iPod released tomorrow.
Honestly, I could say that they're going to release a new Mac Mini with a built in touch screen and the ability to make pancakes and it would be just as valid as anything of this lot.- MacParrot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6It might be worth it to not have a touch-screen iPod if it will stop ThinkSecret from patting themselves on the back.
- mastertop, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2plus Divx and Xvid? No... surely not... :(
- MaxPayne3476, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Meh, it's easy enough with 3GP to drag and drop videos onto my iPod. I don't care about movies anyway.
- Ireland, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Speaking of salt, TS should be taken with a whole sack of it.
- Nerfdude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2think secret is ridiculous, although it's pretty clear Apple at least wants us to believe there's something ipod related showing up tomorrow. i'd love a 3.5" screen, it'd be good justification to find something "wrong" with my current 5g. Wal Mart has the loosest return policy of ALL TIME.
- MaxPayne3476, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1What time does the event kick off and if said iPods are release tomorrow, the in-stores are they put out the time of the press release or the time of opening?
- Kier, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I still don't see why people want a more complex music player. More complex = more money, more to go wrong, less battery. I just want a box with tunes in and earphones out. If you start sticking bigger, more bloated OSes on small, simple devices, you're gonna have less space for your music, less battery life, less money left in your wallet. less stabilty, etc. Just choose some damn songs, put it in your pocket and ***** listen! If you want something that plays music, videos, and shaves your girlfriends beaver, buy a damn PSP: it works well, the screens nice, they're pretty well made and it's quite cheap. Stop acting like this iPod touch is the second coming of Christ, cause everything it does is here already.
And imagine how much better a simple HDD iPod could be: RAZR thin, 48 hour battery, 120GB, etc. Don't ruin it with touch screens and 620MHz CPUs!
Oh, and $5 says I'm gonna be at least -10 diggs within the hour.- Mike89, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"If you want something that plays music, videos, and shaves your girlfriends beaver, buy a damn PSP"
I must've got an old model, mine doesn't seem capable of shaving beavers :( - scronide, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Because people have different tastes and requirements, hence the range of iPods and the many companies other than Apple offering portable music players.
- Mike89, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"If you want something that plays music, videos, and shaves your girlfriends beaver, buy a damn PSP"

- hove, on 10/10/2007, -0/+87Can you really end something that is endless?
- ryanmerket, on 10/10/2007, -18/+5FTA: " the click-wheel based interface will pack plenty of animation and other visual flair"
Why is there a click wheel if it is touch screen?- Logal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+29the click wheel is for the nano. the larger iPod proper will have touch screen.
- kingfoot, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7my guess is the touchscreen click wheel that was first speculated. which i think is a smart move. keep something symbolic to the platform.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Sorry but that would not be smart.
- kingfoot, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7my guess is the touchscreen click wheel that was first speculated. which i think is a smart move. keep something symbolic to the platform.
- Nobiting, on 10/10/2007, -6/+6The click wheel is a signature part of the iPod, even if it is done through touchscreen emulation, it would be a nice touch.
(no pun intended)- griz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11A digital click wheel is useless when you can interact directly with the content.
- TaylorSmythe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I feel the same way! I want to point at ***** I want, not a click wheel!
- fuzzywitman, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Agreed. Have you tried to navigate through a podcast or audiobook using the iPhone? It's nearly impossible to drag the dot accurately. I miss the scroll wheel in a major way.
- etandrib, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I don't have that much of a problem "scrubbing" through a song or audio file. In fact I think I get more accuracy that I did with my iPod. Granted a Nano screen or even the iPod screen now would make that difficult.
- timro, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1That, precisely, is why the iPhone needs a stylus. Even if it is not used for the navigation, the stylus is a missing tool that could open the iPhone up to useful features such as handwritten notes, or even handwriting-to-text conversion for email, IM, internet, and more, just like on a Pocket PC. Come on Apple; take a little from Microsoft. It's time to reciprocate.
- Logal, on 10/10/2007, -0/+29the click wheel is for the nano. the larger iPod proper will have touch screen.
- mrfluff, on 10/10/2007, -8/+0does anyone think there will be a chance that if there is integrated wifi that you might be able to stream your music from your ipod to your airport express with airtunes? i really hope so because i would then have more use of one. and they could add the airtunes technology into the ipod hi-fi.
- Logal, on 10/10/2007, -7/+6The iPod Hi-Fi is going to get the axe, it hasn't been selling well at all because it is so pricey, and really is a niche product.
- humperdeath, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1The new iPod is a desert topping AND a floor cleaner!
- Protoss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Desert topping? Like a cactus?
- supermanred, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I want the reverse, to be able to play my itunes collection wirelessly on my ipod. My storage drive (connected to my airport router) is available to me anywhere near my house with my macbook, but Id like to be able to sit in my backyard listening to my music that is on that storage drive upstairs. THAT would be cool.
- goldstein9, on 10/10/2007, -5/+135Wi-Fi Please!
- TheManiacKY, on 10/10/2007, -0/+40At least to sync Podcasts from a remote location! That would be all I'm missing. Be able to pull up to someplace while driving hours on the interstate to refuel/etc dinner and download the latest podcasts to listen to before getting back on the road!
PLEASE APPLE- jonnyeh, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1Why would you need new hardware for that? Apple could just release a new itunes that allows it.
- Protoss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13He's talking about syncing podcast directly to the iPod, no iTunes involved.
- jonnyeh, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1Why would you need new hardware for that? Apple could just release a new itunes that allows it.
- hove, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20While i would love wi-fi i think that is where apple will separate the iphone and the ipod lines. The iphone is the connected wirless model the ipod is the dumb music storage device. also even thought the iphone has wifi and bluetooth you still need to plug it in to sync.
I do really really hope i'm wrong though. - etandrib, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2If it has WiFi then I'll be hoping for a Skype hack to make my cell phone bill drop $20 /month if not completely.
- jonnyeh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12But it probably won't have a mic input. It will be an ipod, not a phone.
- tech42er, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Well, current iPods have recording capabilities with external mics. These might, too.
- Firehed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Considering all of the iPhone hacking thus far, I'm surprised we haven't seen it. But don't expect it on a 6G iPod, as I don't think they'd install a mic in it and one-sided conversations get pretty boring.
- jonnyeh, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12But it probably won't have a mic input. It will be an ipod, not a phone.
- boonesfarm, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3There is no way the next-gen iPod can be considered "groundbreaking" or "must have" unless it adds wifi. I have a ***** 3 year-old Starcom phone with touch screen and wifi - it can be done.
If it plays divx, I might stand in line for it. - jostheller, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Do not forget about integrated bluetooth. Bluetooth headphones are a must.
- garryw, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2It's called Zune. That's what you want buddy.

- imamessy1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23If this happens it makes finally updating my 4 year old 3rd gen worth the wait. I was going to do it last year but the video ipod is just meh in my book.
- AladinSane, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1If you find the concept of a video-based iPod "meh", then why are you waiting for what is essentially just a somewhat BIGGER video-based iPod?
- imamessy1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It'll be one of the biggest interface changes the iPod has made. The video iPod is essentially the same as my 3G aside from the slight design change from buttons on the top to just a click wheel (which was made for the 4G), slightly larger color screen (color screen wasn't anything new either), and ability to play video.
I just felt like I'm getting something so similar, if my 3G works, why bother?

it looks like the firmware update that the ipod gen 5 was supposed to get in the pictures - Moskie, on 10/10/2007, -5/+6Is this thing going to cost the same as the current iPod? Or is there going to be a price increase?
- Stirk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Apple usually keeps the prices the same or lowers them. Chances are that the price will not be raised.
- Stirk, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1Apple usually keeps the prices the same or lowers them. Chances are that the price will not be raised.
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7They raised the prices on the Mac Minis when they went to Intel processors and they haven't lowered the price back down to what it was yet.
- tiberone, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6i didnt see anything in the article about ipods using Intel processors so I think we're safe..
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7They raised the prices on the Mac Minis when they went to Intel processors and they haven't lowered the price back down to what it was yet.
- TheWorm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, but to the two people above me, look at the macbook and the new imac. The ibook and imac both started at 999 but then Apple went and increased the price by a couple hundred dollars. If it really is a touch screen iPod I wouldn't put it past them to do the same thing.
- aussieNickuss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If anything, I reckon they'll change the price range. Eg. the current 30GB price would become the 80GB price, the current 80GB price would become the 120GB (here's hoping for 120GB) price etc etc....
- djmik83, on 10/10/2007, -6/+2I want to call that anonymous voice mail and leave funny messages.
- imdwalrus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+45Considering how many times Think Secret has been wrong in the past - hell, it even says in the summary that they first "predicted" it 20 months ago - and the fact that they're still using "sources" in the most vague, nebulous sense possible, I'm going to wait until I see it in Steve Job's hands before I take their word for it.
Just remember: even a broken clock is right twice a day. Sooner or later, they're bound to line up their predictions with an actual touch-screen iPod announcement...but history isn't on their side at the moment. - bouche, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12"some 20 months after Think Secret first broke word of the device's development."
I hate it when blogs think that they were first with a rumor that never happened.- sjbdallas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+24I'm breaking the story now that Apple is working on a neural interface that will transmit songs wirelessly directly into your brain. - 0mnio, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1i think it will not be available until some time in October....word has it...
- goldenman, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Actually I have a friend who works at an Apple Store and he says they already received shipments.
- 0mnio, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4shipments of what?
- goldenman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4New iPods, sorry I thought that was clear.
- etandrib, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Shipments of which iPod? iPod Nano or iPod video?
- goldenman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Alright, here's the full story. I talked with him about what is being announced tomorrow and this is what he told me:
1. New iPod Nanos (much like the leaked spy shots)
2. New iPod Videos (like iPhone with touch screen)
3. Updated iPod Shuffle
4. Thinner Laptops
5. Beatles on iTunes
He says shipments for those items are in and will be on the shelf tomorrow. - DavisCollins, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I'm not quite sure I believe that there will be thinner laptops. Based on the invitation it is going to be mainly centered around iPod + iTunes.
- goldenman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, I really don't know but it would be nice to see. That's what I was told by an Apple Store employee and I'm just passing it on.
- Dylson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0So you know what they look like? Did he sell you one early?
- goldenman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Nope, no idea what they look like, and I wish he could sell me one early but I'm sure he would get in a lot of trouble if he did. I just wanted to know what to expect tomorrow, and hopefully it gives everyone else an idea too!
- imran7, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I call *****

- tech42er, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1How much will they be? I'm a bit pissed I just bought a non-iPod mini PMP (thinking the announcement would be a wash), though it is flash based, which is nice.
- goldenman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Sorry I don't know that information.

- djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9No idea why you got dugg down for this. One of the things I love about my iPods is that I can operate them by touch - and I can't see giving that up.
- tiberone, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3You have probably the world's greatest memory ever if you really know exactly how long to scroll for to get to a specific artist or song
- DaniT, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2He's probably talking about volume, pause/play, next and forward.
- bacon_skoda, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2remote.
- tech42er, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Get a nano.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Or a shuffle. Why do people feel a need to use the largest media iPod as an exercise player? Besides, a remote would be even better to operate a device you keep in your pocket a lot. Personally, I never try operating my ipod when it's in my pocket so I can barely relate to this objection.

- djSyndrome, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9No idea why you got dugg down for this. One of the things I love about my iPods is that I can operate them by touch - and I can't see giving that up.

- nicnic77, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2That interface looks f*ck ugly from what I can see?? It's no where near as slick as the iPhone. I hope to God the pictures are just terrible or that this is fake. The screens aren't even wide-screen which surprises me. Maybe its the new nano..
- colincornaby, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, it's supposed to be the new Nano, not the supposed touch screen iPod.
- jjpertusch, on 10/10/2007, -7/+10am i the only person who DOESN'T want touch screen?
my friend has an iphone and it works great with the keyboard interface, but you nearly have to use to hands to do anything. when i'm driving and my players on the passenger seat, i will invariably reach over and hit the next track or pause button without looking at least once every trip. touch screens make this much more difficult and i dont see how a change in control can help.
the iphone's ipod interface is pretty neat, but its nothing you couldn't achieve with some buttons.- wizard13335, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11The advantage to touch screens (which I think you didn't realize in your comment) is that the developer can put a button anywhere on the screen, and make it have any text on it, whereas real buttons have to be in fixed positions and have fixed text.
That said, I do think that touch screens make it more difficult to do things without looking. - DreKor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Then, I'd recommend that you don't buy one of the new ones.
- pkfx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It would be nice if they'd put some tactile playback control buttons on the side.
- DaffyDuck, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Then get a remote. There will probably be numerous 3rd party choices if it's a pure touch interface with no buttons.

- TheJas, on 10/10/2007, -5/+7It can't. Zunes just pwn too hard.

- over90000, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1by have more features for cheaper.
- andyduncan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4The same way they "competed" with the existing Zune: by not making a loud sucking sound.
- bbqsalad, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7By not being brown and weighing 20 pounds. Like my poop.

- egarc, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6By making wifi useful.
- skyshock1, on 10/10/2007, -10/+4I want a device that mounts like a HDD (maybe like a NAS via WiFi), lets me drag/drop files into it without having to use that POS iTunes program, plays any format I throw at it (yes I want ogg and FLAC), bluetooth or WiFi to stream to my audio devices or other music player to trade songs with (GASP!!!!), and delivers USABLE eq presets.
I could give two ***** less if it has a touch screen or not. Is there anything out there like this?- DavisCollins, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14Since when is iTunes a piece of *****?
- over90000, on 10/10/2007, -6/+6since it was released.

- karel747, on 10/10/2007, -0/+113,000 tracks + 2 Gigs RAM = Unusable iTunes. I had to migrate to another media application. FYY, WinAmp is the closest thing to perfect I've found so far.

- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I just wish iTunes were a bit more customizable. Plus I don't like how it arranges some things.
For example, i don't think that the movie, tv show and podcasts folder should be under the music folder. they should be completely separate directories. Plus, it should let you choose different directories for the music and the movies and the podcasts etc. you shouldn't have to be locked into only one directory for everything. Also, iTunes should play all of the open codec formats (OGG, FLAC, etc.) and be able to sync them to the iPod/iPhone.
I like iTunes for the most part, but if it could do these things, it'd be the best jukebox app out there. - colincornaby, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Mounts like a hard drive? You mean like the iPod?
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3skyshock, you should install Rockbox on your iPod. I think that it can do pretty much everything you want. You don't use iTunes, just drag and drop the music you want to sync, it plays all of the open formats, and the UI is skinable.

- DavisCollins, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14Since when is iTunes a piece of *****?
- thecoleorton, on 10/10/2007, -5/+1mirror?
- Piedramente, on 10/10/2007, -8/+2Sounds like you should just get an iphone. What is the point of this?
- Eldoo77, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Umm... some people actually prefer their mobile phone & music player be two separate devices. If the music player also supports touch screen, wi-fi, web browsing, for less than $400 all the better. Besides, being tied to AT&T = SUCKS!!!
- TheJas, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Also, with movies and music on it, 8 GB does not even come close to making the grade! We need more ***** storage! That's mainly the point in my eyes.
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Exactly. 8GB lets you sync about 5 movies, and that's without anything else on it.
I think if/when the iPod is updated, 80GB should be the smallest size for the standard version. 8 GB should be the smallest size for the Nano.- Verdanic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I know you and I might need that full 80GB, but many won't exceed 30GB despite their hardest efforts.
- arbulus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Exactly. 8GB lets you sync about 5 movies, and that's without anything else on it.
- Niz1, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2any chance anyone knows where we can watch this live streaming on the net?
- goleopards1, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2prob Apple.com
- goldenman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I doubt it, Apple usually doesn't stream it live. Check Engadget and you will stay updated.
- Dylson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Well, not live but you can get it like 5 minutes after they do the event.
- goleopards1, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2prob Apple.com
- jmorrin, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2can you buy these tomorrow as well?! please respond!
- goldenman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3That's what my Apple Store employee friend tells me.
- Zap2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1historical, yes..most of the time, Apple's iPods on in store right away...the only one that didn't happen was 1G shuffle...the released it at MWSF '05, then it launch that March.....
- mburk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2What ever happened to the text-recognition stuff we were hearing about a while back? You know, where the iPod would read your song titles so you could use it in the car without looking? That rumor seemed to lose steam quickly, but seems like a major safety issue that Apple might step up to counter.
- aussieNickuss, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Don't you mean voice recognition so you can tell it what to do? Or do you mean that it reads out the song titles to you?
- tthomas1529, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4maybe it will use tactile touch screens
http://www.immersion.com/industrial/touchscreen/- ahawks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm glad such a thing exists, but sad because I had the idea for a tactile feedback touch screen a while ago. As usual, all the good ideas (and most of the bad ones) have already been done.
- digitul, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2good to see everyone chomping at the bit to run out and give apple more money for their latest overhyped device
- Dylson, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2I'm going to trade in my 2G iPod nano and get the 3G iPod nano for free. Warranty FTW.
- colincornaby, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Apple traditionally keeps old iPods in stock just for people like you. You might end up getting a 2G iPod Mini back. When my 3G iPod died, I got a 3G back, even though the current iPods were 5G's.
- Dylson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0So, if I try to upgrade through my warranty to the 3G nano im gonna get an old iPod mini? That makes absolutely no sense. I hope thats not the case.
- ukickmydog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0yep, i tried upgrading my non color old school ipod by leaving it in the sun so the HDD would die, then returned to apple, but like 2 years after they had the color one, they still gave me monochrome screen one back
- Dylson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Well I'll just have to wait and see.
- klaupacius, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I also had a warranty return after the 2nd gen Nano's were released. I received an identical (but new) 1st gen Nano back. Didnt care either way really.
- ZigVicious, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1tried it with my 4g when the ipod photos came out. they keep old iPods hanging around for people who try that.
- Luigi239, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Fraud FTL :/
They won't just give you a new model iPod, just a refurbed old one.
- colincornaby, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Apple traditionally keeps old iPods in stock just for people like you. You might end up getting a 2G iPod Mini back. When my 3G iPod died, I got a 3G back, even though the current iPods were 5G's.
- mcrosby, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I think a lot of people are now hanging on to their old ipod's, waiting for the "next-gen" version. It seems to be around the right time to launch a new version, as we are approaching Christmas in a few months.
- MaxPayne3476, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They always release iPods around this time. I'm excited though :)
- klaupacius, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2First iPod rumour article I'm digging, because it's what I want, and fairly certain it's what Apple will release. None of that radio BS. Good job TS for making me want something that doesn't exist again.
- klaupacius, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2And CoverFlow is the bomb. Once you have your entire catalog filled, you'll never want to sort through a list of files again. The cover art adds so much to the overall experience, especially because there is so much really dope album art.
- stonr2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Are apple "enthusiast" going to thank Microsoft for introducing Wifi within the Zune now that the iPod _might_ also include Wifi?
I have noticed many fans are split between wifi due to battery life, cost, and usefulness.- Quix, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I assume if Apple includes wi-fi it will be more useful than the Zune's wi-fi, which is pretty much pointless.
And should Apple "enthusiasts" thank Microsoft for adding pointless wi-fi to the Zune? - Zap2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Until Wi-Fi is used for the internet, Zune Wi Fi is pointless....and Apple's been planning the iPhone for 2 year...with Wi Fi....clear Apple supporters need not thank MS
- Quix, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I assume if Apple includes wi-fi it will be more useful than the Zune's wi-fi, which is pretty much pointless.
- srodolff, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3If it is more than $250 for the 40G then it's useless.
- computeriva, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I'll be glued to my computer sceen.
- Dylson, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I'll be in school...*sigh
- HappyScrappy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1thinksecret taking credit for this ha.
They make up a bunch of *****, and if it ever comes out, take credit for predicting it. And they just let the other predictions fade away... - obeygiant, on 10/10/2007, -5/+0i will spend $600 for Ipod Touch with Wifi and at least 80 Gig hard drive.
- abid786, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Buy an iPhone then...
- newaffect, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1wait? is it like fullscreen or the some ol; click wheel?
- Doughboy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1If it does have WiFi, then it would be great if it also had Safari and some of the other Apps.
- ender42081, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4screw wi-fi, how about stereo bluetooth? that way (unlike even the iphone, but like my moto) you can update your library, stream music (30ft ain't THAT bad), and use nice wireless headphones. all Apples are doing bluetooth these days so it would also encourage sale of other apple products.
- Dagreenman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Apple: The Nintendo of MP3 players (man it feels good to talk about Nintendo in a good light, especially after gamecube)
- digitallysick, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3im all for some stereo bluetooth, and wifi. and throw in a radio if you feel like it
- weirdlookinguy, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9I hate these rumor sites, because sometimes they completely kill the launch of a new product. Allow me to explain:
The rumor sites promise an incredible new iPod, loaded with features that would make even apple-haters drool (touch screen, WiFi, coverflow, fancy interface, etc.). Then the next day, a new iPod comes out. It's very nice and a substantial improvement over the last iPod, but since everybody was so amped up for a supermegatouchscreencoverlowomgomg!!!!1111!!ONE!!!! iPod, they are completely let down by the new product and think it sucks because the rumor sites led them to expecting something better, so...
take these rumor sites with a grain of salt.
Just my $0.02- VEGETAble, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3In most cases, yes, people would be completely let down after all the speculation. But not for Apple...
- L0g1X, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Those websites make money from rumors. So as much as people may hate them, they will still continue making up rumors just to make the community more excited and visit those rumor websites more often so they earn more ad revenue.
- Zap2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Maybe in the past...but at that time, the rumors were crazy. When we had Hard drive only iPod, there were rumors of color, touch screen flash based iPod...which simply was not happening.....now, its a logical step.
Clear Apple CAN do it...see iPhone, its only a question of "do we want to"
- dadosky08, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0I am surprised a touch screen iPod didn't come out earlier, the technology was there I guess they just wanted its debut to be in the form of the iPhone.
