Yeah, he's probably trying to pull an april fools joke on you. If he wasn't, he probably would have just plain told you that he's a developer for the new video ipod web page.
Oh, wait he did.
Do you want his work id so he can get fired, and you can be sure it's accurate?
Me too. - Cosmosis, on 10/12/2007, -41/+5beh
- Oakes, on 10/12/2007, -8/+21My God, how did this make it to the front page?
Can somebody please tell me?
This didn't even make it on ThinkSecret's front page, for crissake! What does that say about us! - soogy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37An ANONYMOUS source has CONFIRMED something? Since when do these two words go together?
- scotty1024, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Please Lord, let it have Bluetooth 2.0+EDR so I can watch videos at lunch and eat my PBJ on Wonder without ear screeching interference from the 100 WiFi Access Points surrounding me in the park in front of the Federal Building where the pigeons come to beg me for some of your bounty. And Lord, if it does, I promise not to play any Brittany Spears on it or any filthy thought inspiring videos of Jennifer Lopez, you know the ones I'm talking about right? Of course you do, sorry!
Amen. - anonymouse1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13I can confirm this story...just check my name. ^^^
-anonymouse (trust me, its valid.) - adamS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just a quick primer on how Bluetooth works, scotty1024, since you seem to be woefully uninformed. It makes use of a frequency hopping technique that effectively jumps between almost 80 different channels, 1600 times a second. This essentially eliminates any potential for interference, even in an environment saturated with 802.11 signals operating on the same frequencies.
I've used Bluetooth extensively in such environments, and have never had experience problems.

The new Ipod will be released tommorow April 5th. I cannot release my true identity but i can tell you that im affiliated with Apples website. I have peronally seen the ipod and have done work on the webpage introducing the new ipod. The ipod will have a 3.5 inch display starting at 50GB and going up to 100GB. It will also feature bluetooth technology. The battery on the ipod will playback up to 30 hours of music. And 15 hours of video. This is all i can tell you but rest assure that you will know tommorow."

I work with Hashmir. Although he did work for Apple on the website, andhe did infact set up the page for the new iPod, the new iPod will bereleased sometime in June, and content revisions will be added to theweb page of the new iPod, since June is a long ways from now. Anyway, face the reality... a new iPod with no press release? Also, Hashmir ismaking numbers up in his head. It will feature bluetooth, but it willfeature 4 hours of video playback, not 15, and there will only be 15hours of music playback. There will be two sized hard drives, 40GB and80GB. Eveything else Hashmir said is true, though. - TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8I see that Apple just needs to find a "Hashmir" in their midst. Wait, it's a computer company, that narrows it down to 88% of their employees.
- Potcaster, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17I just talked to Hasmir's cousin, *****, ***** told me that the Video Ipod will not be Bluetooth, but will in fact support Apple's own proprietory system known as "IblueTooth", I bluetooth or "JollyRancher", which is the name it will go by, is a special highspeed lower powered wireless system that is secretly built in the new intel macs, so it won't work with any of the other macs either.

- skyshock21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The DS Lite from Japan apparently doesn't have any region coding restrictions. So you can play all our games on it. - wyld, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I'm still waiting for a nice small widescreen player .. i had a PSP but sold it as it just didn't do what i had hoped (and i got it for free with my new mobile phone). all i want is to be able to hold 20G worth of re-encoded divx movies, scaled to fir the screen. fingers crossed, but i'm not holding my breath.
- mjones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The Cowon A2 fits the bill here. I got tired of waiting for a "true" video iPod, so I picked one of these up. Widescreen, plays Divx/Xvid, 20GB or 30GB hard drive, *10 hr* battery life. I love my iPod mini, but this thing rules for portable video.
- thelastknowngod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5i think its fake but even so i wouldnt buy it. 100gb? has to be a notbook drive meaning it will be huge. probably a cheap screen to compensate for the large drive, wireless, and battery. you think apple would settle? i dont think so... there is no way this is true.
- harrydude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Oh ya I can EASILY believe that Apple increased the battery life for video playback from 2 hours to 15 hours..... .rolls eyes.

Dude, you rock. Errr...I mean Hashmir's site rocks. ;-) - LoganKriete, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Hashmir's Site:
------------------------------------
Hello! I am web designer for many companie's. One company i works for is the Apple. they are coming out with a new iPod tomorrow on April 5. I helped design the website so i should know! But it is a secret this, so don't tell anyone. It has a 35" scream, shows videos and audios, and has batters that last 15 daze without replugging.
This thing is awesome! And I am only one who know, 'cause I desine web site. I am Hashmir. Thanks for coming to and looking on my pages for awhile.
------------------------------------
Disregarding all the horrible spelling AND grammar mistakes ("companie's"? People usually spell plurals either correctly [companies] or with the incorrect possesive quote [company's], but I've never seen them combined!), why the hell would he release a "it is a secret this" (his words for "secret") on his webpage? He gives everything away and then (basically) says "shhhh!!! don't tell anyone!!!". Anyone else note the irony in that? What the hell is he doing? Being a hypocrite? Apparently. Besides that (and the fact that he manages to both misspell and spell correctly "design" [desine? I feel like I'm back in math class...cosine, sine, etc.]), I'm very impressed by these specifications he so gladly distributes to the entire world. A 35" inch scream? Really? I didn't even know screams had lengths which could be measured! And if he meant "screen", that's pretty amazing of Apple to come up with a 35" screen which is still "impossibly small". Moving on to the new iPod's ability to show "audios" (I for one have never seen an audio - have you?), it claims it also includes batters which can last 15 daze without replugging. Wow. First of all, when have any MLB players been included in an iPod? Second of all, when have any MLB players need plugging in? Third of all, "daze" means a feeling of shock and/or confusion - so these professional batters can last through 15 feelings of confusion before they need to plugged in again? (And I don't even want to think about where they get plugged into). Finally, he claims he is the only one who knows, since he designed the website. Well, I think that if Apple were really making this, more people than just an outsourced web page designer would know. And his reason makes no sense. I can go make a website right now which proclaims that Windows Vista will be offered free of charge and open-source. But I'm the only one who knows, since I made the page! It must be true - Microsoft doesn't even know! Pathetic. And then he restates "I am Hashmir" as one sentence in the last paragraph. As if it were so hard to identify him. I actually thought I was reading Donald Trump's personal blog until that last sentence. Thank God he set me straight!
This sort of horrible grammar on the web is what has really contributed to the decline of culture here on the internet. Bad grammar and spelling run amok, and people don't have any regard for the sanctity of clarity in communications anymore. I could've easily written this entire rant in internet shorthand and saved a few bytes on diggs servers, but at what? The cost of clarity. Half of the internet would look at it and say "What the hell is he trying to say", while the other half would flame me to death over their interpretations of what I really meant. And yes, I realize that I've digressed from the debunking of Hashmir's confirmation to a rant about internet grammar, and for that I apologize.
Finally, I have one comment to Hashmir directly - regarding that picture on his homepage. Get rid of it. If that's what you're like in real life, then good luck ever finding a girl or getting laid - you've apparently already blown both chances with your impression of a retarded painter-genie.
--Logan - tylerni7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1What the hell is up with that site? Did you just make it up to see how many people would believe your crap?
