Regarding this post, I agree, Coda deserved the win. - thatgirlismine, on 10/11/2007, -0/+27Panic has won an ADA for all 7 of their big apps. The only one they didn't get an award for is Audion, which Apple tried to buy and turn into iTunes-- a debacle which makes for a great story: http://www.panic.com/extras/audionstory/

I can't help but think that this says a lot about the state of gaming on Mac OSX... - garbs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1As much as I love Coda, CSSEdit is definitely deserving.
- michaelyurechko, on 10/11/2007, -14/+11Blog Spam.
- Glenn, on 10/11/2007, -17/+6To each and his own, this is currently the only place online where you can see the ADA winners.
- thatgirlismine, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17@Glenn
Actually, the wikipedia entry is already updated: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Design_Awards#2007_Winners - koregaonpark, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3LOL What are you two fighting about now? It seems love-hate relationships are the new standard, online anyway.
- wastern, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2@Glenn
Apple has them posted
http://developer.apple.com/wwdc/ada/
I'm guessing that is where you got it from. Don't lie about it. Its not like you're an insider that can get this information before others and be the only one on the web with it - asuraci, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Er, actually I saw his blog post first (it was a while ago), and checked Apple's ADA site and nothing was there. No idea where he got his information, but he did have it first.
- AFeld, on 10/11/2007, -11/+10Kevin Rose is Leo Laporte's grandson.
- williamw, on 10/11/2007, -16/+4Alec you are such an ahole.
- williamw, on 10/11/2007, -12/+4Just for anyone confused with my comment, Alec, the clever man that he is swapped his original offensive comment with this.
- AFeld, on 10/11/2007, -5/+9A. I don't see how a joke like that is offensive. It's a joke we talk about all the time, and it's not like Glenn doesn't know. It's not offensive, and it doesn't involve you. Worry about yourself, thanks.
B. Again, It's a joke. Get over yourself. Glenn, Mike, and I joke about it all the time.
C. Being called clever, in my opinion, is a compliment. Thanks :)
Oh, and as freshjives said, come up with some new insults. A-hole? Now THAT is clever!
- freshjives, on 10/11/2007, -5/+6williamw, perhaps when you are able to articulate properly and perhaps even deliver a better insult than "you are such an ahole." will I digg your comment. But come on! Ahole? There are better insults than that; try something you don't hear everyday: *****, anyone?
- bbardlbradd, on 10/11/2007, -5/+6Haha, the second best game is a ***** golf game. I can't wait for Tiberian wars.
- thatgirlismine, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13@bbardlbradd
The golf game sports iSight integration and graphics full of pretty shaders: http://youtube.com/watch?v=A3mcc2JwUX0 - bbardlbradd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11oh SNAPS!
That actually does look fun (not sarcastic). But still... I want that C&C.
- thatgirlismine, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8I was upset that DanLabGames' Wacky Mini Golf (http://danlabgames.com/index.php?rub=wacky&computer=mac) came in as a runner up to WoW, Burning Crusades, since Crusades isn't even a game, it's an expansion. But then they went on and on about how great Danlab is and made an exception, giving him the whole hardware prize-- 2 30" Apple Cinema Displays, 2 fully loaded macbook pros, and a Macworld 2008 booth.
Anyway it's quite an impessive game to come from a one man outfit.- ckSubs, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1Impressive for one guy I guess.... but still, if the runnerup videogame of 2007 is titled "Wacky Mini Golf" you know you have a pretty piss poor selection of games.
- bbardlbradd, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1^^^^^Posted under Freshjives accidentally. :/ ^^^^^
- nova1989, on 10/11/2007, -3/+11It all comes down to two aspects of Mac vs. Windows. If you game, game on Windows. For everything else use a Mac.
- danakin, on 10/11/2007, -10/+1Or, save yourself from paying the Apple premium on hardware and dual boot Windows/Linux.
- rcran, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3Or (If that's all you care about) get what you pay for and quadruple boot OSX, Windows, Linux and BeOS.
- zongamin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Or if you want to game buy a games console, for everything else use a mac.
- DeathJux, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1WORDPRESSED!
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Ow, my most of me
- Glenn, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Site should be back up soon, on the phone with my host now.
- armbar, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1Winning an ADA is like first place in the Special Olympics.
* trolling because it's late and I'm feeling vindictive.- MacParrot, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Vindictive or some part thereof
- mattyohe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Good thing they got "MacBook Pro’s " for the "ADA's". Denoting plural's with apostrophe's is a great idea!
http://www.apostrophe.fsnet.co.uk/ - gafasiesornivek, on 10/11/2007, -10/+2Apple is just unstoppable. Bask in the 10 applications for it! Revel in no games cause we don't need no stinkin games! It's all about glossy plastic and lookin good in Starbucks!
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I have 363 apps in my apps folder, 35 various plugins and 14 prefpanes.
Dont. Be. An. Idiot. - SVPirate, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4And all those 10 apps are better than 95% of all the apps available for Windows...
- selkie, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4*sigh*... Lets do this again... Apple makes hardware, that hardware runs software, like OS X... and Windows XP. It can run all your games plus all '10 mac games/apps whatever', just get over it already. Windows rules for games, there, ya happy?
The sad part is if we were talking about using Ubuntu and 'booting Windows for my games' everything would be cool. For some people it's just a damn operating system, I play CS in Vista on my MacBook Pro, I use OS X for my regular computer stuff (browsing, mail etc), and I use the underlying UNIX with Fink for work related stuff. Apple gives me the ability to benefit from the strengths of all the different operating systems and their hardware *is* also very well designed.
Yes, I pay a premium for this - I can afford it.
If Apple gets your goat so bad, just turn the category off in your profile. Who knows, you might waste less time trolling on digg, get more work done, get a raise and be able to afford a Mac just for those 10 extra games and apps.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I have 363 apps in my apps folder, 35 various plugins and 14 prefpanes.
- kidd3ckz, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1What would Desus chew?
- Zorn, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Papers is brilliant. It is a beautifully designed and wonderfully functional bibliographical database—infinitely better than Endnote, better than Bookends.
- meatmcguffin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Even the icon is great! It started off looking like a building site in the first beta and was built up slightly every time a new version came out. The icon for the 1.0 version is a completed library. Genius!
- modusop, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Where is Delicious Library 2.0? I haven't seen the new version yet.
- lampiaio, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2It's in alpha stage.
- lampiaio, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3So why did I get dugg down? I just answered his question. It's clearly written "Delicious Library 2.0 (alpha)" as the winner.
Stupid average diggers =/ - MinorLemming, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I do think it's odd that an alpha can win an award like this... Surely they should have to wait for next year when they've released ?
