- Scheissenegger, on 10/12/2007, -196/+3Wow, now it aren't some wannabe Nelly Furtado webcam girls but wannabe Bill Gates vidcam geeks on youtube and google video....
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -5/+96You do know that this is a true, professional movie?
Its not a "wannabee" movie. - TROGDOR42, on 10/12/2007, -4/+151Skip VodPod and go straight to Google Video:

- ciram, on 10/12/2007, -33/+12Are you freaking kidding me? Pirated movies on the digg frontpage? Not that I have anything against it, it's just... not the place i'd look for links to movies...
- hdtvdust, on 10/12/2007, -28/+2People can digg others down for objecting...but if you wan to get Digg sued, and shut down, then by all means, keep submitting links to illegal copies of movies.
- CraigCarlyle, on 10/12/2007, -5/+113I think everyone agrees that we need a 'Pirates of Silicon Valley 2'
- drathosX3, on 10/12/2007, -22/+2"The TV movie on Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. 1hr 36 mins"
... Borat? - rompom7, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9@tfelder: As far as I know, it isn't a big deal, digg can't get sued for having a link to it, YouTube will have it taken down well before any kind of legal pressure. And I'm pretty sure that if there was any concern it would've been taken down months ago.
It might not even be pirated, it might be public domain or under a public domain license (Creative Commons, or similar). - jonohull, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16If everyone is going to watch this for free, you might as well download a real full-resolution version. I don't get how people can watch movies on GV or YouTube.
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -15/+4Dugg because I have never seen this before.
- Brightside, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30For anyone who doesn't know.

- rebopper, on 10/12/2007, -39/+3You can find it on Pirate Bay too.
/sarcasm- mrfreeziexp, on 10/12/2007, -4/+37No, I actually think you can..
No need for the "/sarcasm" tag. - sTiVo, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2I think he would have been better off with a /sowhyisthisonDigg tag.
- Samuraii, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20A "/irony" tag would have been even better.
- oneboy, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2And it's "THE Pirate Bay", not just "Pirate Bay". Darn, don't know how many times I typed piratebay.com and thought they were finally shut down for good. (It's thepiratebay.org for those unfamiliar!)
Edit: looks like piratebay.org works now too. - rebopper, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2wasnt thinking. its sunday and im drinking.

- Cerealkillr, on 10/12/2007, -22/+8The best part of the movie is when Bill Gates Crashes the Car....
- CrazyNorman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26or the bulldozer
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3He crashes a bulldozer...
When drunk... - graemee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Bulldozer FTW
I like to think he has one next to the sportscars in the garage. Takes it out for a spin once and a while.
- Combat247, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2hehe, just watched this a couple of days ago after that "what's wrong with the picture" of the lisa II was on digg. Good film
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4Its an awesome movie.
Got it from Netflix. - DolphinGL, on 10/12/2007, -6/+57This movie should be shown in schools.
- xbertox, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24I saw this movie when i was in school... in my computers class, go figure... good movie though
- Snakedal337, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23They showed it in my comp class also, really really good movie.
- WaltJabsco, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Saw it in my Macro-economics class :P
The whole corporate battle thing, technology revolution, you know. - MikeCampo, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5My computer teacher would show it every time he was away plus a few times he was there. I had to watch it 9 times in two years! Nonetheless, it's a great movie.
- nesdude, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Funny that this is on the front page now, our teacher treated us to this movie in our AP Java class on Friday. Liked it so much, I bought the DVD. Highly recommended.
- Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3it's shown in my school in Computer Repair.
- ripstuntz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I did watch this in class! Awesome film, really enjoy the part where the basically come out and say Bill stole the GUI.
- loveandrockets, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1There's an excellent part of the movie where Paul Allen turns to the camera and says "They should show this in every business school. This is the moment that made Bill Gates the richest man in the world." And he tells IBM that they have DOS (which they don't) and they'll license it to them. The IBM guys say "nobody makes money on software, hardware is what makes money." And BIll just smiles at them.
This movie had all these pivotal points in history happening in garages and dorm rooms. Incredible. - iMoth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i saw it in sex ed.
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17I love this movie. Very interesting. And it has a lot of funny parts, which is always good.

- euphemizeme, on 10/12/2007, -14/+46If Steve Jobs opened a kissing booth he could earn more money off of Digg users alone than if he sold a billion iPods.
- diggmeup, on 10/12/2007, -15/+3I love steve jobs
- brian1625, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12Yeah, this is an excellent movie. Originally the MP4 version on Google came without sound, I pointed it out and someone fixed it. Now it's on my Vipod, because what better place to watch it? ;)

Buried - WinGeek, on 10/15/2008, -4/+23"fortran... ohhhh fortran...." - Steve Balmer
- Wootery, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Was that before or after he ***** killed Google?
- striker1211, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12This is as much a documentary as titanic. Entertaining movie though.
- brian1625, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16yeah that was the idea; it's called a docudrama.
- MechaFenris, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Indeed... it focused on a microcosm of the early days ("Fire in the Valley", the book that the movie's based on, is more detailed...) But if you want to read some really interesting information about the golden age of computers, read the book "On the Edge: The Spectacular Rise and Fall of Commodore" by Brian Bagnall.
It fills in the gaps between the "Apple/Microsoft" rivalry... The book goes into detail of the dawn of the PET and the C= 64, plus all the drama in between and up to the end of its life post-Amiga era. It's told from the perspective of most of the engineers who were at Commodore during this time period, and doesn't speculate too much between narratives, letting the participants tell their story unaccompanied. - striker1211, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks mechafenris, i was gonna buy it but its $20 even on amazon used.
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2This is one movie that pirates/geeks whoever should go out and buy. I display it proudly on my DVD shelf.
- gback2000, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2It is also available on TBS on demand on Time Warner Cable.
- tektalk, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5"were here to make a dent in the universe"
-purely Steve Jobs - macslut, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2This really needs a sequel!
- samuelcotterall, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3a) This has been on Google video for months
b) This has been on the Digg front page multiple times - bryan4, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3if I had 500 dollars for every time this made it on digg... I'd have about 3,000 dollars...sweet.
- shellwe, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0I like how this keeps getting posted on digg, this is not the first time, but then gets taken down shortly later, yes, a PoSV 2 would be awesome, or at least a decent DVD, I mean this one sucked, they didn't even spend the money to burn it to 9 gig disks, it was the cheap 4.7 gig disks (which the only bright side is I did a completely lossless DVD copy thanks to DVD shrink). But even that disk wasn't full... sad. Let's just say I don't see the movie coming to blu ray anytime soon. But yes a second one would be nice, maybe one focusing more on apple since these mysterious "ipods" came up from a company everyone tells me sucks, it would be interesting if they could get Noah Wiley back for that
- intellimouse, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23My favorite part of this movie is when Steve Jobs is behaving like a petulant child. Oh wait, that's the whole movie.
- HideoKojima, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17And in real life.
- brian1625, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14To quote Steve Jobs at the Harvard graduation.
"...stay young and foolish"

- maexus, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Yes, he was a prick but that is what drove the company. Passion.
- MechaFenris, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8He was just as big a prick as Gates.
And look at the two companies now... bigger than the GDP of most countries in revenue and sales alone (forget land holdings and employee counts)
- say592, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Or you could simply buy the dvd :|
Seriously, my copy just came friday, and it was amazing! I had seen part of it before, but the ending is definitely the best! Its worth the $15! Who would have thought that microsoft stole the GUI from apple, who stole it from Xerox!- CrazyNorman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9That's pretty important history as far as modern operating systems go. You should probably know it.
- macbookpromat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Funny how I watched this after watching that BBC thing about Jobs and Gates.
- TheNik, on 10/12/2007, -7/+7Jobs licks total dick in this movie. I just want to punch him in the face throughout.

- NWFackler, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I JUST got done watching this movie chopped up in ten videos on You Tube! damn it.

Classic movie. - fuge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Bill Gates on pickup lines- "You must have really great bandwidth." - classic.

- WinGeek, on 10/15/2008, -4/+2Is it ok to pirate a pirated operating system?
- Wynner3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I already have this stashed away in my old vhs collection. Good movie, I like the actors.
- Brownies21, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0You could jsut go to youtube and search pirates of silicon valley and you can watch the whole thing but in 10 different parts BUT you can see the whole thing.
- yardline, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3For an even better scope on the start of modern tech check out the PBS show "Triumph of the Nerds." Most college libraries have it.
- beneathbrooklyn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1triumph of the nerds goes into some great detail about the history. plus it has that unique 90's "style" to it. Its as if the people who produced saved by the bell decided to make a really well researched and informative documentary but couldn't resist throwing in some neon graphics...
- dimplemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5I can't wait to download "Pirates of Silicon Valley: Web 2.0" in a couple more years. Starring Jason Schwartzman as Kevin Rose, Viggo Mortensen as Alex Albrecht, and Dr. Tiki as himself.
- Erik1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Who was that guy that Microsoft bought the operating system from? around 52:00...
- insovietrussia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I haven't watched the movie yet, but it may have been Gary Kildall.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Kildall - bingobastard, on 06/06/2008, -0/+0Actually, I believe that is Tim Paterson of Seattle Computer Products. He orignally created DOS (then called QDOS, for Quick and Dirty Operating System), because he needed an operating system for a 16-bit machine (the Intel 8086 CPU) and Gary Kildall wasn't getting the new version of his CP/M operating system out fast enough. Paterson also worked at Microsoft several times.
- insovietrussia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I haven't watched the movie yet, but it may have been Gary Kildall.
- starguy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4I'm not in it, buried as inaccurate.
- tiller, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Are there any other movies, docudramas, documentaries, etc. that cover the computer world like this? (That is other than the BBC Documentary, and Revenge of the Nerds) This is my favourite movie.
- bingobastard, on 06/06/2008, -0/+0Triumph of the Nerds and Nerds 2.0.1
- Malachai77, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Well that's a good question on the software buy... I was trying to figure it out myself also... Other thing I just pissed me off how Steve treated his employees... That's what happens when you want so much and you're to hard headed... I guess that's how must companys work...
- FreeiPodGuy.com, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1At the moment I clicked into this page, the number of diggs it showed seemed appropriate:
