forums.mactalk.com.au — Late yesterday MacTalk received the adjacent shot from a very reliable source who can not be named for obvious reasons. Word on the street is that resellers across the country have also received similar packages. As seen by the picture, it's contents are protected under NDA until Tuesday June 10 - does that date ring a bell to anyone?

    Why? When in the world has UPS glued a piece of paper to a ***** box? It would be a sticker or a plastic cover with papers inside.

    I could easily make that and print it out.
    • waynestanford, on 06/06/2008, -0/+3This was in Australia, so it didn't come via UPS. It possibly came through Australia Post, where yes, you do stick pieces of paper to a ***** box, as the plastic satchels are overpriced and undersized, and there are no stickers required.

      And michael, we commonly stick paper to boxes in Australia.
    • chromerium, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1Why would it be UPS? Its Australia. It could be a plain old courier company, pick up and drop off in the same city often doesn't require anything more than that.

      Also, we only see one side. There may have been a plastic cover with papers inside stuck to the side.

      The guy who posted this is reputable within the Mac community here.

    Second, the note looks like it has been just placed on there.

    cant wait for the 3g iphone. I'm not really an apple fan but this has me excited.
  • eshirt, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1It's just take-ones and/or a display stand. I used to work at a reseller and we would get this kind of stuff all the time with the same message. It might be a picture of the 3G iPhone, but it's not a phone inside. Plus, resellers would not be the first ones to receive a demo phone - coming from experience, the resellers would get demo units the same day as the Apple Stores if they were lucky - most of the time they just have to pull a stock machine/ipod for display.

    It definitely looks legit, but it's probably just marketing materials.

    I'd still like to see it opened though.
