            most importantly: you can spec out the mac pro with TWO QUAD-core 3.0 GHz xeons, and all of the other specs he has listed MINUS the $1500 graphics card with stereo 3D support (and a different 512 MB VRAM card instead) for... $5951. yep, that's right, including the monitor. 8 xeon cores beats a core 2 quad.
            anyone in the right mind who's not just feeding their pride will know how bogus a claim it is that "iThings cost 300% more". horse *****.

Processor speeds don't matter that much anymore ever since Athlon started naming their processors 2000+ and such, pointing at the power that lies within the architecture itself, being competitive with 2 GHz Pentium 4's. I recommend you look up this stuff.

        As for Macs eating PC for lunch, hahahaha. I have some benchmarks Macs will never pass.

Some benchmarks will benefit from the lowermemory latency of the pc's ddr3 vs fbddr2 of the mac pro, whereas highly CPU bound operations the mac will win almost 2x over. The quatro pro card also sucks for most applications that dont explicitly require it. Which is to say I can come up with plenty of real world app benchmarks that the PC literally can't run, but I defy you to find one example that the mac literally won't run

Whether it's lashing out or trying to get attention, she is missing that thing that tells you NOT to inflict pain or injury upon yourself. Even though the apple logo is fake the rest of the cuts on her arm look pretty real. She shouldn't be treated like an idiot, she should be treated like someone who is sick.

        The appropriate selection for comparison would be the ATI x1900XT which is in the same family as the 8800 Ultra (gaming).

        The FX 4500 is an entirely unsuitable selection because it is not a gaming card at all. The FX series is designed for scientific and CAD purposes and is actually has very poor performance in games.

          A) The PC only has 1 gfx card, an Nvidia 8800 Ultra.
          B) The Mac was created with an Nvidia Quadro FX 4500, an 'engineering' class gfx card costing $1,650, or roughly double the cost of one 8800 Ultra. No one buys Quadro cards for what is essentially a gaming rig, it simply doesn't make sense. If his comparison were fair he would make a comparison using the same 8800 Ultra in both the PC and the Mac. BTW, in case you didn't know, you can replace gfx cards in Mac Pros (but not in iMacs, but that's not what he is comparing).
          C) Replacing the cost of the Quadro with an 8800 Ultra would allow you to outfit the Mac more equivalently to the PC.
          D) iLife is pretty damn sweet.
          E) I'm not a Mac user. My primary computer runs Ubuntu, and I have a few different versions of Windows running on various machines. If anything, I'm an OS enthusiast. Thanks for asking, next time try it in lower case letters like the ones I'm using.
          F) I tried to re-create the authors' PC at the site he posted using their 'custom builder'. I could not.
          - The first problem right from the start is that not one of the customization options allows you to select the Asus P5E3 mobo.
          - None of the selectable mobos support DDR3, thus his selection of DDR3 is impossible.
          - His chosen chassis is not selectable.
          - His chosen gfx card (8800 Ultra) is not selectable.
          What does this tell me? He most likely did not use the 'custom build' option, but rather priced out each part as though he were going to build it himself. If he's going to compare a pre-built, Apple Warrantied computer to a home-built, self-assembled, self-installed computer then it's not exactly fair is it?

          Disagree? Then build his system and show me some screenshots to prove it.
