iCall enables seamless GSM to WiFi / VoIP switch on iPhone watch!
icall.com — We thought you might like to see what our new iPhone application can do... we think it's pretty darned cool. The demo video shows Andy receiving a phone call on his regular AT&T cell phone, the iPhone enters a wifi zone, detects the call in progress and automatically switches the call to a VoIP wifi call. We think it's pretty revolutionary :)

- cubiclespeed, on 06/06/2008, -1/+2Sounds awesome, will this be available in the new iphone apps store next week?
- NameMatters, on 06/06/2008, -2/+1Looks cool! Congratulations on the release.
- timsaysso, on 06/06/2008, -1/+2Jesus H. Nice job. I can't wait!
- hermslice, on 06/06/2008, -2/+6Is this an iphone 2.0 app? or a jail break app?
anyone have that info?- RuVCaN, on 06/07/2008, -0/+7from the FAQ:
"We are part of the Apple iPhone developer program. This is not an application for you naughty jail breakers ;-)" - honavery, on 06/23/2008, -1/+1Says on the FAQ: We are part of the Apple iPhone developer program. This is not an application for you naughty jail breakers ;-)

- jimb123, on 06/06/2008, -1/+1awesome progam!
- wonderosity, on 06/06/2008, -1/+3Hermslice, they say on their page it is not available using jailbreak, 2.0 only. However, you can get Fring right now (been flakey for me) using jailbreak.
Particularly cool for those of us on GoPhone accounts...I like it. - withinavoid, on 06/06/2008, -1/+3Cool app, this will come in handy at my house where I get poor reception but always wifi enabled. And saving minutes is always good. They should have recorded at some location other than that noisy Starbucks though.
- fraul, on 06/07/2008, -1/+7For god's sake, couldn't they have shot this in somewhere less noisy ? That baby screaming and all that noise .. what a lousy way of demoing a great application.
- stevethemack, on 06/07/2008, -1/+0Does anyone know if it's possible to set it so it detects when you enter a wifi zone eg Starbucks and all the calls switch to Wifi automatically without you having to confirm each one? I couldn't see it on the site. Great app as it is though!
- WhatIDigg, on 06/07/2008, -1/+1I'm trying to find out if this will work with the iPod Touch. If you get the mic for it, can this replace SiP-VoIP?
- Kinnkster, on 06/20/2008, -0/+1Probably. I can't really tell if you need a SIP provider or not.
- Funpolice2050, on 06/07/2008, -1/+3iCall makes babies cry.
- dangleburt, on 06/07/2008, -1/+0Absolutely amazing ap! And the skinny guy in the video is so cute!
- rasbill, on 06/07/2008, -1/+1i dont believe it
- halohunter, on 06/07/2008, -6/+1Hmm, whats the point of seamlessly transferring an inbound call? The receiver doesn't pay anything anyway and the caller will still have to pay the same amount.
- ocellnuri, on 06/26/2008, -0/+3Cell phone minutes don't work like long distance. You use up minutes whether you are the call-er or the call-ee.
- joeyignorant, on 07/05/2008, -0/+0there is no gsm carrier that i know of that currently offers free incoming plan unless you have an unlimited minute plan
- bizkit00, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1and it does outbound anyway.

- cubbiesx, on 06/07/2008, -1/+3What carrier do you have that doesn't charge for incoming minutes???
- halohunter, on 06/08/2008, -0/+1Every carrier in Europe and Australia.
- ozziek, on 06/07/2008, -1/+1mmm but they can't release it? Perfect vapourware....
BTW I've developed an application that delivers 3G and GPS to ANY iPhone through a software update that modifies the existing hardware. I can't release it however and can't even give it to Apple themselves but trust me, it really works and I'm writing this from my software upgraded 3G iPhone ;) - unr1, on 06/07/2008, -0/+2VOIP FTMFW
- lastlee, on 06/11/2008, -1/+1The technology has been around for a while. It's called Unlicensed Mobile Access.
- migitalwarfare, on 08/05/2008, -0/+1No *****. The point is that they're doing it on an iphone, which at this point, doesn't have an application written for it that's worth a damn
- jtonner, on 06/21/2008, -0/+0Will this work while roaming overseas? I'd love to be able to receive a call and only pay for one minute at $1.00 to $3.00 and then switch the call to wifi. I usually have wifi in my hotel room or client's offices. If this will work in those circumstances it will be very sweet indeed. Can you place a call and then switch to wifi?
- bizkit00, on 07/19/2008, -0/+2I think you can make the outbound or inbound call without having to switch over from the regular network, as the PC app does. So you won't even have to pay the $1-$3
- neoroman, on 06/21/2008, -0/+0Wow great!
Is it possible to set iCall catching inbound call directly over Wi-Fi - yozef, on 07/03/2008, -0/+1There is also Fring... lots of competition for VoIP on the iPhone.. let'see which one dosen't crash when you use it, and actually would sound decent, and not for testing purposes.
- spudnik187, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2Just searched for this on the App store in iTunes. Don't see it listed. =(
- MedicalMatt, on 07/12/2008, -0/+1and the next google subsidiary is....
- Miraa, on 07/12/2008, -0/+2Would love to try it, but it's not in the App store yet--hurry up!!! :) Guess I'll give TruPhone a spin first.
- heartsinaustin, on 07/14/2008, -0/+2I wish someone from Icall would update us on when it will be available.
- ryanschmidt, on 07/18/2008, -0/+1I heard early August for a release date.
- theforce34, on 07/19/2008, -0/+1when the ***** is this gonna be available this is ***** give it up its ready
- zeksam, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1Been following the ICall news on the Iphone app and also wish that iCall would provide additional info as to when it expects to release the app. Think they could become instant Millionaires if their app works the way they say it should. Not sure why there hasn't been any official press from iCall since the release of the 3G iphone, kind of strange? I've emailed iCall and have not received any response back? Just Waiting and hope it happens?
- mstegink, on 07/21/2008, -0/+1I love the functionality although it is a shame there is no OSX and Linux client available. But the video quality sucks!! I have seen amateur videos with much much better quality. Do something about it! This is not good publicity.
- lenmonster, on 07/23/2008, -1/+2Well, given they haven't announced anything, I'm forced to return my iPhone and go back to T-Mobile, HotSpot@Home, and my very beat up Blackberry. I LOVE my iPhone as a device, but the number one feature I need is the ability to make and receive calls. I get no service in my home with ATT, and TruPhone's outbound call quality over WIFI was terrible. As this is my business phone, I have to be able to get in touch with customers and vice versa. I'm very, very bummed. If I knew a set release date and knew iCall would work as advertised, I'd stick it out, but for all we know, this could end up being so much vaporware. While the app obviously works, because we have to go thru the iTunes App Store, there's no telling whether Apple would just hold the thing up at ATT's request (or the request of other carriers), whether receiving calls over WIFI would work (since it's not a UMA phone), or how battery life will fare.
- bryan8580, on 08/19/2008, -0/+0iCall, please make a statement on your progress!
- jgardner04, on 09/05/2008, -1/+0I can't wait for this app!
