iPhone 3G's New SIM Ejector Tool Makes It Instant Must Buy!
gizmodo.com — OK, forget about what I said before. Screw the storage and the 5MP camera. I've been reviewing the iPhone 3G specs, and it's finally coming with exactly what I wanted: a genuine iPhone SIM Ejector Tool.

The iphone will not be activated in store, if u read what has been written, people are being very coy about it.
You will still have to pay $399 for the new iphone, the subsidy $200 will come in mail in rebate in 6-8 weeks.
That is how they will enforce the subsidy(because you will be locked into contract). The unlockers still can pay $399, where as at&t customers get the benefit of the discount.
Oh and all those plans about paying the ETF in the first month and unlocking it; not smart. If you cancel contract within 30 days, you will have to return the phone. So the only way to pay ETF is after the first month, which means you have to pay the fee for the first month along with the ETF, which is higher than the 399$.
Not everyone who has an at&t contract will be able to get the new iphone for $199 either, a lot of people are not getting this. If you have used up your upgrade eligibility within the past 2 years. You will have to pay the full $399 no-contract-price to get the new iphone. Whereas if you've only bought the iphone 1.0, you CAN upgrade to this at $199 because you have NOT used up your upgrade eligibility. So basically if you've bought any other phone other than the iPhone within the last 2 years of your contract, you cannot get the new phone at $199.- d4nie1, on 06/10/2008, -0/+2Link to source please. I haven't seen anything that said you would have to pay $399 up front and would get a $200 rebate in 6-8 weeks. I doubt that's the case.
