- reech, on 10/21/2008, -1/+4Donations are up to nearly $50000 in less than 12 hours!
- petursey, on 10/21/2008, -1/+6what a worthwhile campaign !!! The religious minority put their rubbish up everywhere..it's time for the atheists to come forward and strike a blow for sanity !!!
- BarryNL, on 10/21/2008, -1/+4Love to see what sort of reaction these buses get when they hit the streets.
- SimonDee, on 10/21/2008, -1/+5digg it up folks. This has been the one-day record on justgiving.com so far...
- Slattz, on 10/21/2008, -0/+2Strange how the first version that tried to raise £5000 failed completely yet
this one reached that target at 10:06 - just over three hours!
Now at 19:15 it is at ... £ 32,781.66. ($55401.0054) - And still climbing!
Remember the original idea was for just five buses for a month - at this
rate we will be able to do it for a year.- monoa, on 10/21/2008, -0/+2It didn't really fail. The original received little exposure and was set up so that people only donated if the minimum pledge was met. That didn't happen before the pledge closed. Basically, it wasn't properly organised because the person who thought it up didn't think it would gain any attention - which it did once the pledge was closed.
This time, with proper organisation, it has hit ~£60,000 in 15 hours - against a target for the London campaign of £11,000. It looks like the campaign will move out to other cities now.- Foyo999, on 10/22/2008, -0/+1Hi all, if interested the "failure" of the original campaign is explained here:

- jbw31415, on 10/21/2008, -1/+2Hopefully a sister campaign in the US will follow.... Congrats everyone on crushing the goal!
- fanofwind, on 10/22/2008, -1/+1Just tried to add this story to the Digg site its already on under quite a few titles good luck to them. A breath of Sanity at long last. £48,355. 1.23am (GMT) 22ND October great stuff.

- spl0it, on 10/22/2008, -1/+1You can donate to the Freedom From Religion Foundation billboard campaign here - http://ffrf.org/donate/paypal.php
- Dermbrau, on 10/22/2008, -0/+0God doesn't even ride the bus, how's he suppose to see it?
- mivona, on 10/23/2008, -1/+0What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home?
----------------------------------------
I love it, and hope with all this dosh the campaign can be extended. It is time for those who are non-religious to push back against those who claim to be the majority.
I don't mind about others having their faith, but when there are attempts to put a religious slant on public policy and to impose their faith onto other non-believer's lives, enough is enough. Once they cross the line into being political, the previous inhibition to ridicule their beliefs is removed. It all becomes fair game then. - faintpraise, on 10/24/2008, -1/+0They've smashed the £100,000 barrier now. I'm not sure how much that is in US $ (I'm not American) but it must be close on $200k?
- mivona, on 10/27/2008, -0/+1The pound has dropped against the dollar, so it is now only $173,800. Still, an amazing amount of money, and I hope that atheists can now turn to supporting the campaign against faith schools - http://www.justgiving.com/faithschools
- ssam, on 10/28/2008, -0/+1they did pretty well
