Baseball's Most Embarrassing People, Places and Things
maxim.com — There are any number of people within sports who heap shame upon their families every time they leave the house. This season, however, baseball more or less found itself in the clear. Ah, but there's still despair and intellectual/moral/emotional rot for those who dare to track it down. The race for sixth place starts behind these five entities.

- fyreboltx, on 10/05/2008, -4/+2I just saw the Cubs lose, sign on digg and see this. I'm incredibly shocked that the Cubs didn't even receive an honorable mention.
Or maybe they were left out of pity?- Spoomeister, on 10/05/2008, -1/+1Or maybe because no one cares about the Cubs as much as the media wants them to.
- RegalGSX, on 10/05/2008, -4/+2The Cubs are no longer lovable losers, they're just losers. 9 straight post-season losses. What a despicable bunch of useless human beings.

- RegalGSX, on 10/05/2008, -2/+0The Cubs must enjoy the feel of other teams ramming their Louisville Sluggers straight up their asses year after year in the postseason.
- beachsouthpaw, on 10/05/2008, -0/+4The Yankees: All that money and not even a playoff berth to show for it.
- terracottapai, on 10/05/2008, -0/+3Karma's starting to win over cash.

- malonie, on 10/05/2008, -1/+1beisbol is beri good to us....Mets bullpen
- endustry, on 10/05/2008, -4/+1Where is Manny on this list? He takes care of business on the field but his juvenile ***** is inexcusable. Shoving a 60-something team secretary to the ground and cursing at him? Please. He needs a fastball to the nuts ASAP. Now that the Dodgers have advanced I am also conflicted about their chances of wining it all. Joe Torre effectively telling the Yankees, "How you like me now, bitches?" is a very pleasing thought but Manny getting to be ***** of the year and earning a third ring in the process would be proof that karma is dead.

- yourbrokenoven, on 10/05/2008, -2/+1Buried. Sports is off-topic. Go to ESPN.
- WinZiggy, on 10/05/2008, -0/+2This Mets fan in not sorry to see Shea go; although on closing day I don't know if it was the nostalgia or the fact that the Mets efeed up again that made me want to cry :(
- iamdan1, on 10/05/2008, -1/+1What about Hank Steinbrenner?
- Spoomeister, on 10/05/2008, -0/+1Dugg, with a tear in my eye, for immediately mentioning the Seattle Mariners first.
The beautiful ballpark, the fans with no other ML baseball in a 1500 mile radius... hell, the hall-of-fame broadcaster Dave Neihaus, who doesn't have many years left in him and has sat through a LOT of bad baseball... we deserve a litle better than this.
:( :( :( - partrow, on 10/05/2008, -0/+1Baseball itself is embarrassing, not just the "players" and what they do. And it is supposed to be the "national past time"? That is also embarrassing to many of us Americans.
